Had a 8:15pm reservation, was told there was a fifteen minute wait. We sat at the bar, after a half hour we asked how much longer was told "we're just waiting for people to leave" terrible experience, what is the point of using open table or even taking reservations if you can't accommodate when you say you will
Topaz was packed, but still delicious food with good service.
Topaz never disappoints. The food, service and ambiance was perfect! The scallops and black cod were amazing!
The service and ambience were good, considering that it was Valentine's Day, and it was crazy busy. EXCELLENT blackberry cocktail, made with Earl Grey syrup-FABULOUS! Prix fixe meal was good, not great, for the price. Starters were good: salmon carpaccio & crab cake; first was only ok: wedge salad-small, lobster bisque salty and not a dot of lobster, not creamy; main course was a MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT: 2 orders of scallopS were in fact ONE SCALLOP PER PERSON set in the lobster grits with fresh corn and tomato sauce. Seriously...ONE SCALLOP, all alone, in the ENTREE dish. Looked ridiculous and CHEAP. We definitely felt hoodwinked. What were they thinking??? We were still hungry afterwards. We complained to our waiter and he said the portioning was done by weight, that these were big scallops. um, yea. Dessert: strawberry shortcake was good, trio of sorbets was exceptional.
We were QUITE DISAPPOINTED, that the management took advantage of the holiday and short changed guests. Better to charge a few $ more, and actually provide scallopS, as they were listed on the menu.
We will NOT be going back anytime soon.
Menu was set for Valentines Day. The food and everything served was excellent. Only negative was our server was not terribly friendly.

Value so so. What was described as “Scallops”, was in fact a single medium sized Scallop. Absolutely terrific but I have never been served a solitary scallop this size. Disappointing
Excellent meal and atmosphere for a date night. Every course was spot-on, and the service was impeccable.
The only bad experience was a hair was found in the food by one of my team members. However, it was handled appropriately and credit was given for the amount.
Went here for early dinner and it was great! The owner was walking around and seemed like a nice guy! I definitely recommend this place.
We all began with the wedge salad. It is particularly good at Topaz. My husband had the special trout, my daughter had the salmon and I the scallops. All were delicious. For dessert, my husband had ice cream and i, the beignets.
We’re anxious to try the new Topaz when it reopens-opens.
My wife and I went here for my birthday. The entire experience was amazing. The server did an excellent job explaining all the specials and helped my wife choose a wine suitable for the meal she selected. Our meals were prepared exactly as we requested and tasted amazing (my wife selected the rack of lamb, I selected the Ribeye special). For desert, we asked for the little bits assortment. This consisted of two small cheesecake squares, two small carrot cake squares, and two small chocolate chip cookies. There were no cookies so the chef baked us two small beignets and put it on top of chocolate sauce. They were amazing. The server also happened to hear my wife talking about my birthday and took it upon herself to fashion a candle on top of one of the carrot cakes. I thought this was amazing serivce! She also comped the desert for my birthday! All in all we had an amazing time and will be coming back in the future.
Everything was good except one of the entrees. The prime rib special was very tough and inedible. The restaurant, was very nice about it and did not charge us. Everything else was wonderful.
Fabulous! The sea bass as their special was superb. The fish was perfectly cooked. It was moist and the mushrooms, spinach and lobster sauce was a great accompaniment.
The food was very good, the service was even better. Nice and clean and the staff was very friendly. I would definitely go back.
Had a 5:30 reservation and were the only ones in the dining room... bar had patrons. Service was slow. But the food was a pleasant surprise... very good.
The food was good and so was our waiter. We had to wait an hour after our reservation to be seated. The hostess was not very bright and kept saying 2 minutes. After conversing with her I went up to check on what was taking so long and she asked if I wanted to check in. NEVER an apology, just “2 minutes!”. We understand sometimes you have to wait. What was needed was an explanation of a reasonable amount of time (not 2 minutes for an hour), and an apology. That would have sufficed us all. My husband has no desire to go back when there are so many other restaurants of that caliber with much better customer service.
We have not been to Topaz in a while, but the wait was worth it. From the great bar to outstanding dining room, a perfect meal. The attention to detail and the inbelievable service we were given, makes me rate Topaz as a 5, an outstanding experience and worth the time and money.
I had the salmon, it was delicious and my husband had the hangar steak, always good!

It was my first visit to Topaz Cafe. From beginning to end...everything was DELISH! We started out with Seared Lump Crab Cakes moving on to our entrees Salmon and Berkshire Pork Shank followed by the Chocolate Cake for dessert. Topaz did not disappoint. The service was superb, the owner was engaging, the ambiance perfect for catching up with an old friend.
This was a dinner with some long lasting good friends. First visit for them and they really liked it. We had a great time and sat for a couple of hours. Everything was interesting and different and we were not rushed.
Ordered Surf and Turf. Was surprised with the small portion of "Surf" which the menu suggested would be lobster or some portion thereof. Barely two bites even though good quality. In the future a choice of premium meat would be preferred.
The menu has down stroked for all the right reasons.
Believe it or not there hanger steak blew me away. So many times but other restaurants I’ve been disappointed. Usually we go for the fish but it just happened to be a steak night and we were rewarded . Even though it was Christmas Eve there was no rush whatsoever but the staff went out of their way to make everyone feel at home.
Don’t hesitate to give them a shot you won’t be disappointed
