Top of Vancouver Revolving Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Our experience here was fantastic! Friendly and attentive service, very generous portions of delicious food ( Lamb shank dinner was excellent & very tender - could easily nave fed both of us!) Stunning 360 degree view of Vancouver and vicinity. Very calm and quiet atmosphere with understated dinner music - we could actually converse without having to raise our voices! For us, this was a totally enjoyable experience. Will definitely be back!
Well the buns were stale, the bus -person was coughing all over the cutlery/napkin stand/ walls are filthy, chair had crumbs and stains, glasses had fingerprints and lipstick/mouth prints( from coughing busser and a defective dishwasher, the food was ok ish( I would expect more choices not from a Boston pizza for their prices and view), and the servers apron was filthy.
I came here as a child and was in awe of the restaurant. I wanted to give my children this experience that I had. It however did not happen. We won’t be back .
I book this restaurant for dine out and date night, but the service manner and all over all service is extremely bad. There is no waiter server us, and they are slowly. We did not get our bread at all. I saw every other tables get breads. No one notices that. Thus, for this time experience, i did not feel comfortable and good. i will not come to this restaurant again.
Horrible experience with the service offered during dineout Vancouver 2018. No one told us the seating time limit was 1.5hrs. Appetizer came pretty quick but the main entree didn't come until 45min later. At which time we already spent 1hr 15min sitting there and comes the entree. 15min into eating the main entree the server comes over and reminds us that the dineout seating time limit was 1hr 30min. We said ok but immediately thereafter the waiter brings out the dessert plate and left it on the table even though we are only half way through the main course. Service was horrible and the service charge was set to charge automatically with 18% even though they don't deserve this much with this kind of service. This was for a party of 2 and not a large party. Why do you demand to set a service charge automatically when there was horrible service provided.
The dine out menu has lots of option but the food was awful. Arctic char, and duck was over cooked. The a crux char taste like frozen fish meat that has been sitting in the fridge for a long time. I couldn’t even chewy the duck meat. BBQ rib was too sweet and salty. The server, he did not even ask us what drink do we want. He attitude was rude and careless. No service at all and they charge for a mandatory 18% service fee. I understand why there is a service fee as it was the same in the US as well for dine dine restaurant. But this is not fine dine restaurant standard at all! The food is not and as well as the service. Not worth coming to eat for food. But the scenery was good. If you only want to see the scenery just buy ticket and go to the viewing deck. Not worth coming for dinner.
The service was bad and the foods were not that great. Did not get a greeting when attending the restaurant. Asked couple times to switch to the window table when there were empty tables, got rejected because they said the spot only serves four or more people and ended up everyone who came in for the tables are two. Food and service did not worth the price, really bad experience.
We went there as part of Dine Out Vancouver, thought the food and menu was really good, we left feeling like we had had enough to eat. View was of course spectacular, but was made even better by our window table where we were both angled so that our view was towards the outside. Thankfully the clouds had lifted on our visit so we were able to see the vista as its' best.
All the serving staff who attended to us were really friendly and helpful. When we went they were contending with some very large groups, so sometimes there were gaps in our service, but we didn't care as we were just taking our time and enjoying the view. Drinks were on the expensive side, that would probably be our only quibble. It was a really great evening and dining experience though.
Had a great experience and a great view at this restaurant. The food was a lot better than expected and was fair for the the value. We had the steak - medium rare and I have to say it was definitely one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. Would come back again next year dine out!
If you’re looking for a restaurant with a grandeur attitude but poor service (and a mandatory 18% gratuity), Top of Vancouver is the right choice.
I specifically reserved a window table over a week in advance. While I understand those tables are in high demand, I was sat much further away and my request ignored. When I told the server about my issue (and how I requested it in advance), I got a fairly point-blank “everyone asks for the exact same thing” before he promptly walked away. While I can certainly imagine most people want to be seated at a window table here, I wasn’t pleased with the waiter’s response or the lack of communication beforehand from the restaurant. I was early for my reservation, there were multiple empty window tables and I had specifically requested in advance to have the window spot (I even asked a second time!). How is it decided who gets the window tables and who does not?
I didn’t want the less-desirable table to affect my dining experience, so I did my best to move past that issue. My food was excellent; I ordered the mussels and the duck and I would’ve raved about my experience at the restaurant had it not been for...everything else. My partner’s meal wasn’t comparible. The caesar salad didn’t taste fresh and it was far too basic; it wasn’t what we expected from here. The steak was tasty and fine, but came out rare when it had been ordered medium-rare and the veggies were warm but ultimately raw. While my meal was fantastic, I was disappointed that my partner’s meal couldn’t achieve the same standard.
After our food was cleared, the dessert wasn’t served until over 30min after. We knew the restaurant has a policy that a guest must leave 1.5hrs after being seated; so it’s really too bad our dessert wasn’t served until after that 1.5hr mark. We might’ve been asked to leave! At this time, we were finally offered the second drink of our meal after our glasses sat empty all dinner.
I’m glad an 18% gratuity is included with every meal.
The setting was superb. What a fantastic view. As long time residents of Vancouver/Richmond, it was lovely to re-live the past and pick out landmarks that have shrunken in comparison to the high rises. Food was spectacular and loved the wine and martini's. Terri was a great food server and looked after us. Unfortunately, my long scarf fell on the floor and disappeared...first time wearing it so it was a shame. But these things do happen. No fault of your establishment.
Came for dine out. Only thing good was the mussels and they were just "good" not even perfect or excellent. The main course (steak) was SUPER salty, the mash potatoes were very cold ! Definitely would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Save your money folks and go eat elsewhere if you're just in it for the view go to the viewing dock !!! Service was "meh" didn't really see our waitress at all lol
Came here for the 2018 dine-out to celebrate for a special occasion with the family. The view was spectacular even though it was raining pretty hard outside. Food and service was okay - probably because it had been a long day/week for restaurant staff. Loved the view, every one had a good time. Would definitely recommend this place for a special occasion.
