Top of Vancouver Revolving Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
This place was an incredible disappointment. (I was there in 2009 and loved it). We arrived at 11 for Sunday brunch. With only a handful of full tables, it still took us 20 minutes to even get water. The carving station and omelette stations were generally unstaffed. The roast was all well done and tough. There was no bread of any kind: muffins, sweet rolls, nothing. No seafood. Buffet selections were limited: over fried chicken, corn dogs. Sausage and bacon but no ham. Cake was dry. For $50 I expected something lavish. I would have been disappointed if this had been a $20 buffet. The three people with me agreed. There was nothing good enough to have seconds.
We excitedly made this reservation two weeks before travelling to Vancouver. After arriving and being told the elevators were inaccessible, we waited for 45 minutes in the lobby before we finally gave up waiting. The next day I received a rude email asking why we'd missed our reservation. Overall, I was extremely disappointed as I had been looking forward to this "date night" with my husband.
We went for the view in spite of some of the poor food reviews we read. The view as usual was breathtaking and so was the food! From the ahi ahi tuna salad to the steak to the decadent dessert my meal was fantastic. My wife’s dinner was amazing as well. All in all it was a fantastic experience.
Highly recommend Top of Vancouver !!
Beautiful view from this restaurant, and while the food was good, it was nothing spectacular - especially relative to the price. Their wine list is not extensive, but had several solid choices, including Canadian wines - but again, the price points were exorbitant. I've been to several revolving restaurants before, including NYC, and found this one to be lacking. There were bright lights surrounding the center of the restaurant, which took away from the ambiance. I thought the tables were rather plain, especially after visiting the Marriott Marquis in New York - this restaurant had a simple tea light floating in a small cup of water. A large basket of very good bread, with one pat of butter for two of us. A waiter that seemed more involved in pushing bottles of wine then worrying about the menu. I had the duck breast/duck confit, which was not greasy, and had a good taste, but the breast was dry.
To get up was challenging because the glass elevator was out of order! The people on ground did not know how to get up!
Finally we made it. We ordered a menu, the appetizer was a salad wedge with just a mayonnaise, the shank of lamb was good, but far too much for a womans stomach! The dessert was without any passion... But the view around Vancouver at night was the best of all! Service was nice!
I would highly recommend this place, nice food, good service and fantastic view. Especially for those who intends to go to pay for entrance for the viewing deck at Vancouver Lookout. You pay for your meal and you sit there comfortably enjoying food and view at the same time and you save your entrance fee. I think this is really good value. The food can be better if it's hotter but it's not too bad.
It was lovely for a date.. However.. our foods were kind of cold.. so I asked to warm it up..had Lamb shank and the veggies and the meat were cold..Not impressed though.. for the price and served me cold foods... I would not recommend it again... Only for special occasions I believed it is perfect for the place... Otherwise.. I would go to local restaurants and the one’s in the hotel...Cactus club is way better .. flaming hot dishes !! But .. thank you for the server who was kindly enough to warm up my plate..
Horrible place! Extremely dated. I felt like I was dining in the 90s, food was very average with extremely high prices. And waitstaff was very slow and there didn't appear to be anyone dining up there Saturday night. The view is nice and that was it, don't eat there just go to the observation deck if you want to see the city. There's so many wonderful restaurants in Vancouver and this is not on the list!
Go on the off season. We had 3 birthdays to celebrate and we were gushed over. This is a beautiful, low stim, scenic restaurant. The views and the food did not disappoint. The menu is a bit pricey but the portions are large and delicious. People may not go here thinking it’s passe. It may be but that adds to its appeal. It’s a bit of a throw back but more than perfectly solid. It’s a feel wonderful place to eat.
Great experience!!!! The server was very courteous and friendly as well as the waitress. They surprise us with free mango cheese cake as treat to our anniversary. And even the food was not so pricy, reasonable enough for a high end restaurant. And don't forget the amazing view at the top, lovely 😘
The service was great, loved the view. My food took 45 minutes to make, which is fine.. but when I am waiting almost an hour for a $60 dollar plate and all my food is cold.... I am not impressed. I chose not to say anything. But this is the second time this has happened to me here. It is sad too see them going so down hill as I have always loved coming to this spot for any occasion.
You pay a bit of a premium for the view, but on a clear evening (when we dined) it is spectacular.
Very good food, excellent flavour and good presentation. Good service although perhaps a bit pushy toward the $$$ end of the scale on the wine pairing recommendation. Attentive but not over-present. Quiet, with well spaced tables, ambience/atmosphere is all about the view not the decore, lighting etc so it’s going to be most subjective in that respect. Overall good value when all things are considered.
We celebrated our 34 th anniversary here. What a perfect place! The food was delicious and artfully presented, and the atmosphere was so relaxing, with very soft music and conversation. Our waitress was so kind and attentive too. And of course, the outstanding views of this beautiful city added to the whole experience. Highly recommended!
Bottom line, you go for the view. The food is overpriced and nothing outstanding, staff were nice and polite. If you can stomach maybe $100 per head for the view and some average food, then you'll have a great time. There are much better 'fine dining' places in Van, this place is a bit of a tourist trap so just know that going in.
The food was absolutely horrific terrible and disgusting. I paid $43 for spaghetti that tasted like the one that you can get in a can. The food came so fast it was kind of ridiculous because food that is properly made should take around 22min to an hour and it only took 10 minutes therefore the food was premade and the chefs did a terrible job. Let's talk about the service now..... The server was so bad so terrible she did not know what was going on she did not know how to count our check properly Nor mathematical problems. The presentation of the servers were very bad they did not look presentable and they looked like they just woke up from bed. I would tell your manager to tell all the employees to dress better to actually look presentable and to be friendly . The 18% should not come in there in our bill, and it is actually illegal to obligate somebody to pay 18%. This was such a ridiculous experience and I do not recommend it for anyone. I am ultimately disappointed in this place, and was expecting this to be 10 times better . The $43 but surely the worst thing I have ever spent in the city Vancouver. To be considered a high-end restaurant ,it is profoundly awful. The server had poor hygiene, fundamentally impolite. The beef, was corrupted. Though it was extremely salty I could still sense a stinky smell like the server.
