Top of the Rock Restaurant at the Marriott Buttes Resort Ratings and Reviews
Beautiful setting nice ambiance although service was slow and the food was horrible. Filets were cold and dry. My mom had to use a dipping sauce from my sisters entree. It was my moms 75 Birthday. Wanted it to be special but that didn’t happen. Even the chocolate birthday cake was so dry she could not eat it
This was my first time at Top of the Rock and we were all impressed. The service from the entire staff from valet to hostess to bus boy was fantastic. Stunning view of the city especially as the sun sets. We were given a great table with a view of the skyline and of the open kitchen where we could watch the chefs in action. We were here for a business meeting/happy hour so we didn’t eat a full meal but shared a few things and what we had was outstanding. We shared Thai shrimp, savory chicken and donuts, charcuterie board, risotto and wagu short ribs and it was all delicious. Topped off with a very attentive and professional server (William) it was the perfect event. I would highly recommend Top of the Rock and look forward to returning with my wife for dinner when the weather is nice and we can enjoy the patio.
My husband and I rarely get time alone and so when we do we want it to be special and our dinner at Top of the Rock was excellent! We were lucky enough to get a table on the patio with gorgeous views of the city. Our waiter was very professional and knowledgable making suggestions and describing the best dishes and cocktails. We started with the cranberry mule and gin rosemary spritzer which were very flavorful. We had the chicken and donuts as he suggested and they are incredible! We followed with the pork tenderloin and tuna which were both so tender we barely needed a knife. Dessert was Chef Clarissa’s Special a chocolate bread pudding to die for! Bottom line this is an excellent restaurant with stunning views and great service!
I was very disappointed in our dinner. The friend I was dining with has very specific dietary requirements and they completely screwed them up. We had to wait 20 minutes while they re-made our dinners. No compensation was offered. While the forbidden rice had an amazing flavor, the rice wasn’t cooked properly. Overall, very disappointing.
A spectacular location and a potential incredible experience because of that alone . Food was mediocre, medium rare tuna was medium well . Stuffed pork loin was dry and 90% beans . Service was inconsistent. Charcuterie board was followed by salad three minutes later then a 20 minute wait for the main course.
View was great! A little cool out so we were surprised there were no heat lamps as we’ve come to expect at most places with outdoor seating.
Food was fabulous! Service was very good but slow on getting our drinks.
I included in my notes that we would prefer to sit outdoors and it was my wife’s birthday. They got the outdoor seating correct but was surprised to not see them mention her birthday. It’s the little details that can make a difference.
We would def go back with others.
The ambience of Top of the Rock is outstanding. We went there for my dad's birthday (5 of us) and ended up with a tab over $300. I was prepared to spend that much, but expected the quality of meal to be in line with the price... it certainly was not. The server was friendly but slow. She apologized and said they had a large group outside so the kitchen would be slow as well. Maybe go for happy hour to enjoy the view and not spend so much. Thoroughly disappointing that they cannot put together a more complete product. If they could, we'd be there frequently.
Kenny our server was on the ball as always. We were well looked after and treated like valued guests. Our small group of 4 did not feel rushed and enjoyed the steady flow of our meal. We all look forward to our next get together here.
The food was exceptional and the service was exquisite. They served my every need and responded quickly to my order. The chicken and donuts could have been a meal in itself, but the halibut was the best. The chocolate olive oil cake was marvelous and again the service was excellent against a great backdrop. Would most definitely recommend and go again.
I was dissapionted in service after being seated, there was none til called it to attention of one of the servers, who notified manager, after that we were taken care of. Also disappointed with the Alaskan halibut, as it was mush, not fresh, it is my favorite fish, I prepare it my self at least twice a month. love the ambiance, but didn't under stand why we were seated in lower corner when it was not that busy!!
Wait staff was awesome. Every member that checked on us or brought us water made sure we were happy. But they were not to the point of being annoying. I wish other restaurants were this attentive. The food matched the service. Waiter made suggestions and we followed. Glad we did. Beautiful evening overlooking the city lights.
The setting and view of the Valley was lovely. However, for an upscale restaurant, I was surprised at the utilitarian patio furniture. Rather uncomfortable hard plastic chairs and metal tables resembling a card table (no tablecloths). The service was OUTSTANDING! Much of the food is localling grown, and the chef is creative with the dishes. Plate presentation was lacking....an 8 oz. steak in the middle of a large plate with no garnishes was rather disappointing. The side bowl of marbled potatoes was quite salty. The halibut was delicious, but again, the sauce was salty ( and I’m a salt lover). All in all, we did enjoy our meal, with the added bonus of a gorgeous full moon, and would recommend this restaurant.
Loved the restaurant itself but I did not like where we were seated. Next to register and I think dish station? Basically where waiters enter in orders and grab silverware in the corner. Yes we got a view but it was kind of cramped into a corner next to the glass so I felt like a little zoo animal tucked away. I wish we would've asked for booth or center seats because the view can be from pretty much all tables! I also did not think the food was anything that special unfortunately. The shrimp was good but also nothing fancy. The pasta was bland with a strange smell. I had only a few bites and went home hungry unfortunately. Didn't want to wait on a new dish. My boyfriend ordered a great dish (pork with beans or something). Otherwise our service was amazing (free valet) and the place itself is great AMAZING VIEW. I just know I will be better about my seating and food choices next time.
Average. At best. The views are gorgeous and service exemplary. Food was below our expectations. The medium steak came out cold and rare. I mentioned it and the steak was taken back for additional char. When it came back it swas medium rare.
View and location was great. Service and arangment was questionable at best. Our table was cover with ants which made for interesting evening when food arrived. Server would disappear and show up only at times when both drinks and plates were empty.
Disappointing as view was amazing however will think twice before returning.
Kenny was great and gave us great service. I eat here when I have time to relax and enjoy the meal and company. The view can not be beat. This was the fist time the weather was nice enough to sit outside. We are adding this place to our regular list of ( nice places to eat ) and everyone enjoyed it. We look forward to monthly trips here. We live 25+ miles away or we would eat here more often.
