When we first arrived the hostess rudely stated to my husband that our reservation was for ten minutes later. He responded that we knew. We had just arrived and thought we would check in and were prepared to wait. When we were seated (our reservation was for four) they took us to a table set for three. They had to grab a chair from another table. We had to ask for a table setting for the fourth member of our party and the girl seemed put out. Then we meet our server, she seemed nice but very unqualified for a restaurant that had a reputation of excellence by reviews I had read. We had to ask for our napkins and silverware. We also had to ask her for refills on water more than once. We only saw her when our food was delivered and time for our check Food was ok but not up to standards of what one expects for the price. Would not recommend it. We were actually disappointed with service and quality of food.

Top of the Rock is soft meets all expectations of a beautiful restaurant with amazing views. It’s a sweet date experience. Our food server, Nicole, was attentive and friendly. The only thing that did not meet our expectations of a higher end restaurant, was sadly the main entrees. Although it was beautifully presented, the New York strip steak had a great flavor and was tender, the meat itself was not the best quality. It was very fatty with a lot of gristle. This was more like a choice cut than what we’d expect with a high end restaurant. The Chilean sea bass also had a good flavor and prepared well, but it also tasted a bit fishy, what you taste when it’s not fresh. We were left disappointed because we’ve had better steak and fish at lower end, far less expensive restaurants. We did not complain only because we don’t waste food, and we did enjoy a complimentary dessert.

Patti, thank you for sharing your thoughtful review. We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed the ambiance, views, and attentive service from Nicole—creating memorable experiences is our priority. However, we sincerely apologize that the main entrees did not meet your expectations. We strive to offer the highest quality dishes, and your feedback about the New York strip steak and Chilean sea bass is invaluable. It will be shared with our culinary team to ensure improvements. We appreciate your honesty and hope to have the chance to provide a more satisfying dining experience in the future.

I had booked a 9pm reservation for my birthday dinner. Half of my guests got there by 9:05pm and the host/ manager was very rude saying they would lock me out if I wasn’t there by 9:15pm and when I arrived at 9:18pm we had to convince them to seat us after I had put a deposit on this reservation. Almost ruined my birthday dinner and definitely started the night off with bad energy. The server was extremely nice and accommodating. The restaurant is beautiful. Food was bomb! Just very unhappy with how me and my guests were treated upon arrival.
