The food is always good. Our server was excellent. We really like the place.
They gave our table away because we were 15 minutes late due to traffic. They claim they called us, which they did not. They stuck us in a small table in a corner. Service was very good, food mediocre.
'Top of the Market', sits above their sister restaurant, a quiet space with a view overlooking the water. Seafood is the key, fresh & hot. Shellfish appetizer, and swordfish entree were very good. I've dined there multiple times and can recommend the food and location.
Had a great experience. The Top of the Market (as opposed to The Fish Market downstairs) is very quiet, so if you really want to relax and talk without shouting, this is your place. Our server was extremely attentive without being intrusive. The food was excellent. I ordered the $48 lobster tail, expecting a tiny piece, but it was probably the biggest lobster tail I've ever eaten. And it was delicious but, I'm sorry to say, tough. In any event, overall a lovely experience.
We were meeting with colleagues for dinner. Separate checks were not an issue. Food arrived at an easy pace and the food was well presented. Had to wait for water several times, and requested extra dressing for a entree salaf never arrived.
Great service with delicious fresh seafood creatively prepared. Good wine list and beautiful view.
Love this place. Just please have in mind to better your kitchen extraction condition because there was this fire flame of a dish being prep in the kitchen and the whole place got smoked my hair, my clothes, didn’t like that.

I think they had new staff because no one came to take our order or offer us drinks for 15 minutes and that was only when I stood up to waive a waiter to our table.
Our first visit to Top of the Market (or the Fish Market for that matter). Blood orange martinis were delicious and generous, as was a wine pour later. Appetizers were only a little bit off the mark. The crab cake was delicious. The red clam chowder, so-so. The green salad with walnuts was fresh and tasty, but lacked the goat cheese mentioned on the menu. Perhaps it had been tossed in and sort of melted into the vinaigrette. The seared Mahi-Mahi on sweet corn with maitake mushrooms was excellent, as was the seafood stew or cioppino or whatever they call it. Desserts were good, if not especially innovative. The decaf coffee was strong and hot, always a good sign. I do have a small comment regarding the check. When it arrived, I noticed that the server had forgotten to include our two fancy martinis. She was busy, and I'm sure I could have simply paid and left. But I pointed out the oversight; she thanked me, and returned with a check about $30 higher (including the tax). Now I know, this was the correct total for the items we ordered. But given the circumstances, it would have been a nice gesture to "comp" something - one of the drinks, a small item like the coffee, or perhaps a coupon for a free drink on the next visit. Acknowledging "thank you for catching my mistake when it was against your interest to do so" is a nice message to send to a customer. But anyway, this was a very pleasant dinner, and I will definitely be back.
The food has slipped noticeably in the last few months. They dropped excellent first courses, e.g., beets and grilled octopus. They raised the entree prices while reducing the number of accompaniments. Saturday, my swordfish was bone dry.
Restore the menu you had 6=months ago and I'LL be back
Excellent crab dinner
We returned to Top of the Market for our wedding anniversary on October 10, and we are so glad we did. Everything was top notch -- food, service, drinks, view and value. The appetizers were fantastic. The Sea of Cortez Prawn and Dungeness Crab Cocktail was superior -- fresh, delicious and abundant crab and large prawns that snapped with freshness; the Ahi Poke was fabulous! Mains -- Atlantic Sea Scallops and Grilled Farm Raised Scottish Salmon -- were fresh and delicious. We shared a scrumptious lava cake for dessert. Drinks and wine were a fine accompaniment, especially the finely made apple-tini.
Definitely recommend Top of the Market for a special occasion with a water view!
Seafood entree (salmon) and New York steak were excellent. "Country" salad was very good and large portion. Clam chowder was too starchy for my taste. Dark chocolate was divine flavor

I have to agree with other reviewers: I just don't see much point in going upstairs to Top of the Market rather than eating for more value downstairs in the regular Fish Market. Our food was very good, and I don't think my ahi tuna appetizer is on the menu downstairs, BUT, for the higher price, I just don't see much value. Yes, it's quieter for sure, classier, more sophisticated. You get a better view of the lagoon. But our server was just basic in her quality, nice enough, but seemingly more interested in other customers that she knew from prior trips and chatting with them. Prices are substantially higher upstairs as well. Also, they don't mention it anywhere, but be advised that you have to take the stairs (no ADA variations). I love the Fish Market and for the price and value, I'll stick with downstairs.
Though the restaurant had absolutely no handicapp accessibility and over 20 steps but the evening was not completely spoiled due to the perfect food and service. The restaurant over the lower Fish Market is less loud due the smaller size. The food was well prepared and fresh. I would return if it had better accessiblity. We were there for a birthday celebration and the lack of the roar of a massive restaurant patrons, like down stairs, made the evening comfortable for the birthday guest who has a hearing aide. I have a spinal injury which makes stair climbing painful, but the dinner was worth it to see my friend able to hear our conversation without yelling.
It should be noted issue was the Open Table's fault for not listing the lack of accessibility the restaurant itself was wonderful experience.
Gone down hill. Overpriced average food now. Two appetizers and two entries with no alcohol was $120.00. Cheesy garlic bread different than years past, not the same. Not sure but a Saturday night at 7pm the place was empty, only 2 other tables. They need to improve on quality and price.
Vino is THE best waiter I have ever had-anywhere in the world. The seafood is amazing ! Incredibly fresh oysters, king crab-awesome.
It was my wife's birthday and "Top of the Market" is close to home. We walked upstairs and got seated immediately. Service was professional and friendly. We both chose Alaskan King Crab Legs. There were two large, juicy legs for each of us. Perfect. We finished with Key Lime Pie, oh me, oh my was it good. It was as good as down in the Keys. I'm guessing it was made with Nellie & Joe's key lime juice. A wonderful evening.
