Top of the Hub Ratings and Reviews
There is no better vantage point than The Top of the Hub from which to enjoy a magnificent cityscape view of Boston on a clear day, or even on a clear night when the city is alight. So, it was the perfect place for us to take two visitors (from Sweden and India) to for Sunday brunch. However, the fixed price menu of three courses, plus a pre-starter starter, is both too constrained, excessive in terms of quantities, and mediocre in terms of cuisine. Nothing wrong with the yogurt and granola pre-starter starter, except we did not need to start with a fourth course mid-day. The spinach salads and the grapefruit brûlée were so-so, and the scallops -- grilled on top of hunks of potatoes, wrapped in bacon and smothered in a thick undistinguished greenish sauce -- would have been much better if they had been served unencumbered by this paraphernalia, although bacon wrapping was fine. As for the desserts -- tarts or cupcakes -- naturally, we had to carry them off in little boxes as we had no appetite for dessert. Still, it was a marvelous brunch, scintillating conversation with interesting people and the fabulous views of Boston right out to the harbor islands, so well worth a return visit for some occasion.
Just a wonderful night out. We had dinner earlier at another location but made sure to have drinks and the warm cookie platter at Top if The Hub. Jazz and the 52nd story view capped off a wonderful holiday weekend in Boston. Family memories were definitely made!
I was disappointed in our evening there. It was quite expensive, which I was ok woth and expecting, but the food was a disappointment. I had lobster. It was just undercooked and bad. My wife had Halibut and it was decent. We waited for a while for all courses. I will not go there again.
We were so pleased that this restaurant was not a tourist trap! While visitors will love the view, the food was worth coming for by itself! Our waitress was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, available, but not in the way! She even had local knowledge she shared about what we were seeing from the spectacular view... Desert was a piece of art that satisfied and amazed from the first bite to the last🌞
BTW the lobster bisque was a must have too... Best I had in Boston!
I brought my daughter here as a surprise for her 14th birthday. I have been here dozens of times (it is my favorite Boston restaurant) and I wanted her to have that experience. It surpassed my expectations for the evening! She tried carpaccio for the first time and positively loved it. She also had filet mignon for the first time and said "I don't care how sick I get, I am finishing this!" I had the roasted pear salad, which made me swoon. Keep in mind, she is 14, so very little "impresses" her, yet she could not stop herself from commenting on the service, the way the food was presented, the view, how "clean" the water tasted(!). . .but my favorite comment was when she said, "This is so nice, I feel so important. This must be what royalty feels like." I almost cried. She took pictures of everything and posted it to her Snapchat, bragging to her friends about what she was doing. Though the bill may give you a slight heartbeat irregularity, I will say, without reservation, it was worth every single penny. We will be back, no doubt.
I was there with my husband for our anniversary. I didn’t like the food at all. Starter was super cheap cookies that you can buy 10 for $2 at Walmart. Main dish was too greasy and cheesy, I had eag Benedict and it was like Macdonald quality.
There was absolutely nothing special about this place.
My husband and I loved our first time experience for brunch at The Top of The Hub. The view was wonderful, you have a birds eye view of the entire downtown city of Boston and past the river. The service was great and quick, the food was delicious and the vibe was just overall on point. Definitely planning to visit for dinner next time.
Delicious food that looks as good as it tastes. Fast friendly service. The three course lunch was a great option that pleased the four of us. Beautiful views started a few conversations and the unique food presentations were fun to discuss. Wish we were able to hear the live music. We will be back with our sons and daughter.
Wow, just wow! I have wanted to go to the Top of the Hub my whole life. When I was younger, I knew it was the spot for that intimate romantic date, the proposal, or to celebrate a special occasion. This place was on my bucket list and I was so glad we finally were able to go. We celebrated our anniversary and everything was perfect. I had made a reservation and said it was our anniversary and they seated us right away, everyone was so nice wishing us a happy anniversary even before I had a chance to mention anything. You can tell they communicate really well. We ordered the five course prix-fixe with wine and it was worth the money and experience. Each course was perfectly made, creative, and absolutely delicious. The speed of the dishes was perfect, the view was breath taking, it was easily my best dining experience. I am already penciling in future visits! Thank you for such a wonderful time!
Very memorable evening. The view adds a huge amount to the experience. The service is excellent and the food well cooked and interesting. We were very impressed at the adaptations made to the 5 course meal to accommodate a gluten free diet. We were very well cared for.
Everything was amazing. My only complaint was that I tried to call four or five times and left three voicemails trying to get in touch with someone because it was a birthday. I went into the restaurant day of and told them it was a birthday and the girl at the front gave me attitude for not giving them more of a heads up. I informed her that I called four times left three voicemails and one of the voicemail boxes was full. At a restaurant someone should always be answering the phone.
