Top of the Hub Ratings and Reviews
Asked for steak medium rare and it was brought out medium well. I waited 5 minutes for my server but he never came so I succumbed to eating the steak... server was inattentive to my wife and I however spent - good 10 minutes talking to the table next to us and did not check in to see if we needed anything.
Service was very good, and most menu items were excellent. Unfortunately, the halibut I ordered was over cooked and flavorless, thought the accompaniments that came with it on the plate were tasty. The party who ordered the filet mignon said it was perfectly cooked, though the portion size was disappointing, given the price.
Spectacular view and delicious meals! This is a wonderful place for a special occasion - service is excellent, food is amazing and view is breathtaking... very expensive but I think you're paying for the view, and it's worth it, especially for a special birthday, anniversary, etc.
My party stood by the elevator on the 50th floor along with several other parties until about 5 minutes past the time we had made our reservation. The gentleman at the skywalk had to call to get the restaurant to open the 52nd floor. The music did not turn on until about 10 minutes after we sat down, so we sat in awkward silence during that time, trying not to speak so loudly as to disturb the other guests. The food was great, and we had the best seat in the restaurant with a corner view. The server neglected to provide us with drink menus, then refused to offer a recommendation on a drink when we finally got them, saying "Whatever you want" when asked "what's good." When the drink arrived (it was a cranberry mule), it wasn't very good. I knew I would be paying mostly for the view (which was phenomenal), and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, but I did expect a bit better service. That being said, the server was friendly enough, and did offer to take our picture. The top of the hub is a great place to have brunch if you have a big appetite and are looking for a fantastic view. Just have an idea of what you want before you sit down, I suppose.
Dinner date at Top of the Hub was a good choice. The service was excellent and the food was amazing. The view from the restaurant looking over the city night lights is also amazing. I had requested a special services for a bottle of champagne to be available at the table before we get there and they were able to provide that service. We had a wonderful dinner at Top of the Hub and would recommend it to others to experience it for themselves.
Booked our first year wedding anniversary dinner there weeks in advance for last Saturday night. Didn't get a window seat or even middle row table, but rather the third, back row. That was the only bummer. We did the 5-course prix fix menu with wine pairings. Great deal and everything was SO delicious, but was a bit rushed. They did surprise us with happy anniversary candles in our dessert which was cute and all staff is willing to take pictures of your visit and to commemorate your occasion. We will return for a future special occasion and hope to get a window seat this time!
This is our normal birthday spot, this was our 5th time there and by far the worst. I booked almost a month in advance and requested a window seat, they said it's not guaranteed but they would put a note in the system. We were squeezed in next to another couple in the middle of the floor--not exactly romantic or private. My chair was hit every time someone walked by, the noise was incredibly loud, food was overdone (not like them at all!), overall it was not a good experience.
My boyfriend and I made reservations at the top of the Hub for our one year anniversary and the service, food, and staff all together blew us away. The manager personally checked in on us a few times and the servers were right on top of everything. We’d drink two sips of our water and it would be refilled within minutes. The food was the die for and I give it an A+ in creativity. Highly recommend.
Top of the Hub never fails to please. The food is delicious. The ambiance is wonderful. And the service is excellent. We are never disappointed--whether we go for lunch or dinner, in small or large groups. There is something very, very special about this restaurant, which is why it's our first choice of birthdays, anniversaries, or entertaining out-of-town friends.
Took my boyfriend here for his birthday. The food and service was excellent. For a table of two, make sure to get a seat by the window if you want the scenic view. Our serves was wonderful, and was very accommodating to my nut allergy. One of the bread choices had walnuts, and she went out of her way to cut a fresh piece of non-nut bread with a fresh knife to lower the risk of cross-contamination. I strongly recommend going for a special occasion!!
Very disappointed. Such a bad experience... we got there thinking we were gonna have a special night at a special and idilic place and it was horrible. Our reservation was at 8:30 and they didn't bring the food until 9:45. Bad customet service, very loud place and too crowded.
They should have a more professional host and not a stressed out girl that doesn’t even look at you or around her.
We asked for a window table that she didn’t want to bother sitting us there, it was obvious. She said there wasn’t any available!
We saw a window table empty for at least 45 minutes and mention it to her but she was rude and dismissed us very harshly.
We just let go as it was obvious she didn’t have the qualification to do her job.
Very disappointed about the whole scenario as we made reservation 3 weeks before, got there 1/2 hour before and had requested a window table, which it wasn’t the problem ... the attitude and incompetence is the real issue there!
