Tootoomoo Ratings and Reviews
Our Italian waiter was in particular fantastic.
The food was lots of varied tastes, big portions and fresh.
The restaurant was buzzing. The drinks were good.
Everyone had a great time.
My only gripe is it was slightly pricey for a local restaurant in whetstone
The restaurant is quite small with quirky alcoves and colours. The service was excellent with the waitress being very attentive and informative. The food was very tasty especially the tempura, we also had duck which was a bit dry. I would suggest this restaurant is good for lunch.
Casual vibrant atmosphere. Loved the décor. Loved the food , but!! The portions were not huge whereas the price was. Did not go away hungry because we ordered several starters and mains. Total price was approx. £84 for 4 people. On saying all of that I would go again.
My partner and I love anywhere that serves sparkling sake, but Tootoomoo really impressed us. The food was amazing- especially the salmon and avocado sushi and the chicken gyoza. Service was excellent, attentive but not pushy and the manager was a hoot! Would highly recommend, an all round excellent dining experience.
This is the best food we have ever eaten as take out. Fresh, delicious, good portions, gluten free! So we have been waiting to try the restaurant......it was a bit dirty!! So upset. the service was okay but not great and they turned down my open table cheque until I pushed the matter. The portions I expected to be greater than take out but they weren't.
I will get take out again but maybe try the restaurant on a normal Sunday not on a Bank Holiday
We were thrilled with this discovery. Very friendly welcoming staff. Vibrant atmosphere. You pass a teaming kitchen on the way to your table. Your meal goes straight from the grill to the table and it feels really fresh, much like genuine street food in Asia. Everything we ordered was delicious. The sea bass, the lamb with wasabi was really tender and delicious. I loved the duck salad with water melon. Not so mad about the spare ribs. A huge success and thank you to Top Table for finding this brilliant, fun, inexpensive casual restaurant 5 minutes walk away in Hornsey and booking it immediately so we secured the last table.
We were looking forward to eating at Toooomoo and trying out the promising looking pan-Asian menu. As you enter it feels like a Hong Kong diner - walking past the hectic, wok-filled kitchen area. The seating area has some dubious, rather childish graphics and is very noisy - but is lively. The waiting staff very attentive and pleasant. We had chicken satay and duck spring rolls to start. The satay sauce was bland but the duck rolls had good flavour and were very fresh. For mains we had a very mild beef rendang. I asked for chilli sauce to liven it up and was given something that looked like a spicy ketchup from a bottle. We also had a nice but slightly salty steamed sea bass. Both accompanied by some excellent crunchy steamed veg
Loved the set up of the restaurant seeing the kitchen as soon as you go in. Menu was interesting and a good selection of Asian beers etc... Food tasted delicious especially the Wasabi Lamb. My only criticism is that we were sat way too close to the table next to us (who were very loud) which was distracting. A little space wouldn't go a miss. Will definitely be back to eat in or takeaway!
Tootoomoo provides a really interesting menu and you'd have to be incredibly fickle not to find something you'd want to try. We had a range of starters as a tapas style opener and then shared a couple of the curries between us - absolutely delicious. The waiting staff were really lovely too.
Tootoomoo advertises itself as a 'Pan-Asian' restaurant and indeed offers an interesting variety of dishes from that wide area. My companion and I ate prawn tempura - very good though the batter not the usual tempura type but heavier- followed by excellent steamed sea bass with delicious veg. For dessert we had a rather too sweet but large portioned frozen yogurt with mango that was not quite ripe. Staff willingly swapped this, when we pointed it out, for rather too few and slightly tasteless blueberries- they were out of season, after all. Service was friendly and casual. The style of Tootoomoo is funky - a bit like 1970's California! A fun, healthy place to eat for informal meals- but main course better than puds!
