Tony's of Cincinnati Ratings and Reviews
We went to Tony’s for the first time on January 20 for our anniversary. Our reservation was at 8:00. When we arrived the hostess said they were runnIng 10 minutes late. She said we were welcome to get a seat at the bar, which were all full. At 820 we were seated. 8-10 more minutes passed until our waiter first came to our table. We were ready to leave at that point.
We stayed and the experience and service was better, food was excellent. My only qualms are that at this level of fine dining, we feel that if a reservation is made, being prompt is important. We dine a couple times a year at Ruby’s or Eddie Merlots and have never once been seated late.
Make no mistake , the steaks and sides are excellent, just the service at the beginning was lacking. Not sure if we will return with the other choices out there. We can’t dispute the food quality or taste, just service
The food was great and well priced. The service was good , our waiter was very knowledgeable and made good suggestions because it was our first time there. Manager stopped by our table to ask about food and service.
Disliked our table because it was in the middle of several others and to close.
Overall very good as usual. Was very busy apps and entrée took a while but was very good. Waiting for the check for final signature took a very long time. Service was good but with the long wait for the apps and entrees I would have thought the server would have been able to control the wait on the final check.
Had an 8:30 reservation and got seated at the worst table possible! It seemed as through they moved our table a few feet into the main isle to make room for a party of 8 behind us. I wish I would have kept my coat with me because the hostess that checked it for me was long gone when we left. We had to track down our server to fetch our coats.
The service in this restaurant is impeccable. I have rarely come across better or similar. Our food was ample, delicious, fresh and amazing. My boyfriends filet steak was to die for, and I had the roasted pan chicken which was superb. The salads and the sides were delicious. What an outstanding date!
The food and service were tops. The seared ahi tuna appetizer may be the most delicious food I have ever eaten. Steaks were cooked perfectly and the sides were large enough to share. Our server was attentive, but not in your face. We will definitely be back.
We had a wonderful dinner for our anniversary. Brian was our server, and he was fantastic. We started with cocktails and the steak tartare. It was served with Chloe’s onion, tomato, Kamer’s, and a Dijon aoli on the side. It had an egg yolk on top that broke perfectly. Served with warm Crostini. I had the Greek salad and my husband has the house salad. For main entrees I had the short ribs with horseradish mashed potatoes. You didn’t need a knife because they were so tender. My husband had the bone in pork chop with collard greens, and mashed sweet potatoes with a homemade marshmallow on top. Amazing! All three together was the perfect bite! For dessert, we had a special treat of chocolate mousse in a dark chocolate tea cup. Highly recommend. Price was reasonable. Service was impeccable.
The BEST steak house in all of Cincinnati. Plus the Porterhouse is unparalleled anywhere! Friendly, professional, knowledgable and passionate staff makes Tony's a truly exceptional experience...every time! One of our favorite restaurants all across the U.S.
Enjoyed our Christmas Eve dinner here again. Matt was as excellent and impressive as the last time he took care of us. The guy really knows how to describe and recommend food. His table side service is impeccable! As well as the rest of the staff. Always a pleasure to have management stop by and make sure everything is to your liking. LOVE THIS PLACE!!!
We celebrated 45 years or marriage at Tony's during Christmas week. We consider this one of our "special" places to celebrate. I had the grouper special and my wife had the filet. Our waiter Matt did an excellent job of describing the meals and options like salad dressings that really enhanced the meal and he also recommended an excellent wine. We finished with a creme brulee that was a nice size for two. This is a high end steak house and the price was reflective of that, ~$185 with a $75 bottle of wine before tip.
Great food. We felt it was a bit overpriced. My filet came overdone. Very noisy, difficult to hear our guests across the table. Tons of traffic where we were seated. We requested to be moved, but were told the "booths" were already booked with a reservation. We also had a reservation. Angie our waitress, also stated she would not be our server... turned out she was also the server for the booth we requested. Would recommend for a special occasion.
We ALWAYS go to the Precinct for our anniversary. Thought we would try Tonys for a change.
Our server was very good, just slow to get to us at times. We were there over 2 hours.
The plate with my steak and veg was unappealing for sure. Béarnaise tasted very good, just was gelatin like.
The best part was the amazing Truffle fries and the surprise desert.
Though I would go back just for the Truffle fries, but next year back to The Precinct for us.
