Tony's Italian Ristorante
My favorite Italian restaurant in Columbus - first time back in a few months and first time for friends who joined us.
As expected, food was great (our friends split an order of lasagna and a house special fettuccini - thought both were great), my wife had her usual Fettuccini Madonna and I had the house special Trout. The Madonna was a bit short on sauce, but my trout was outstanding. I hope, when the restaurant reopens, this becomes a regular offering. We shared a couple of appetizers and I added the sausage stuffed mushrooms as a side. They were fabulous. We shared two bottles of a nice blended red wine, all had coffee and dessert and the total was less than $220 for the 4 of us pre-tip. Add in the friendly service, free parking and general ambience and I don't know how it can be beaten.
We had a great meal served in a timely manner before our trip to the Ohio Theatre for a show.
Food was great! Our server Mike was very attentive. We'll be back!
Excellent food and service, comfortable and clean environment. Very gracious owner, Tony was welcoming and kind to us.
Tony’s is one of our favorites. Great service, atmosphere and food!
For a nicer restaurant they are unbending and not customer accommodating. My friend ordered a regular meal from the menu — not a special— and asked to substitute a vegetable for the linguini because she cannot eat gluten. Waiter told her there are no substitutes, she has to get the linguini, and if she wanted gluten free there would be a $4.95 up charge. She did not want to do that — just a potato or veg. instead of the linguini. Unacceptable policy for a nicer restaurant.
We were heading to the Columbus Jazz Orchestra February concert series and Tony’s is the perfect pre-concert dinner spot. Close by, quiet, feels like old school service and the food is excellent. We love it!
This place was such a let down. We’ll never go back and glad we only wasted our money once. The only thing we liked was the salad dressing and there wasn’t nearly enough of it. Everything else was worth forgetting the minute we left.
“Do better” Tonys’s if you plan to keep up the pretentious attitude towards middle class customers.
Food was average, calamari was just okay. Server didn't seem that friendly
If you like good, Italian food...Tony's is the place!
Amazing food, service, and environment. Took my wife for Valentine’s Day and we had a wonderful experience. Highly recommend
Great Italian food. Good service.
Nice meal , nothing really stood out . We didn’t leave thinking wow we need to come back here but if someone mentions going we would go back.
I used to go to Tony's at least a couple times a year, but I have not been able to make it for the last few years. Very disappointed in both the ambience and the food this time. The soup was extremely salty, and the main courses had very little flavor. Their signature pasta dish tasted more like flour than alfredo. The waiter was okay but not overly attentive. I ordered hot tea at the end of the meal and was brought less than half a cup of tea. I asked for some more and was brought even less the next time around. I was very disappointed as this used to be one of my favorite restaurants, and now I doubt if I will ever return again. On a side note, one of the owners kept coming to the table beside us and talking to the customers multiple times during the meal, which was somewhat annoying to our party, and you could see on their faces became annoying to them as well, but they did not want to say anything. He even had to move out of the way so we could leave our table.
Tony’s has been our ‘go to’ for Italian in the Brewery District for decades. Blackened scallops awesome, wedding soup, chicken parmigiana all fantastic.
This was our third time visiting Tony's and was disappointed. I ordered shrimp scampi and it only came with shrimp and a salad, nothing to put the scampi on. I thought that very strange. So basically paid $28 for 8 shrimp and a salad - not a good value. My husband ordered a veal dish and disappointed in with that dish. Probably will not be going back.
Best Italian Food in Columbus!
My friends and I had a great time eating great food. Chicken Parmigiana is to die for!
I had the chicken parmesan and it was delicious. There was an ample serving with spaghetti. It was Saturday night so the restaurant was louder than usual. i thought the salad could have had more dark leaves and a few more veggies for the price of the meal. The bread was good. i will be back when my schedule permits.
Tony’s has become our new favorite restaurant! We have had several meals there since discovering it and have never been disappointed. We are taking all our friends there now.
A table for four, three diners ok with their food order. Wait staff rushed generally overly irritated. Wait staff offered “upgrade to salad offering with meal to Caesar from tossed salad that came with the meal. The Caesar salad “upgrade was a joke a plate of iceberg lettus small amount of dressing and a whole anchovy laying on the end of the plate. I had lasagna 99% ricotta cheese, have never seen such a poor excuse for lasagna, salad then got charged over $6.00 for Salad, sad sad. Tony’s was a good restaurant once but not now. I could tell the kitchen was rushed and had no thought of quality.
We visited this time last year and it was great! We used entertainment book coupon. It brought us back again this year. Food again was outstanding but an issue arose with our coupon and managed denied our legit coupon. Something happened when they took my phone to run number. But the worst was how manager handled it. He became confrontational in front of other guests. I chose not to make a scene but he ruined our evening and we will not be back. Way to lose business by not exceeding a guests expectations. The entertainment book has at least 300 restaurants to choose from
Wonderful experience. Great service. Good food at a reasonable price.
Everything was great, but they weren’t that busy and we were at our table for two hours. We weren’t in a hurry, but 90 minutes would have been enough
My wife and I love to eat at Tony's. Great food...great price.
First time for my Mom and brother. The service, food, and restaurant was beautiful to them. They will come back.
Food is consistently excellent. Service is professional and friendly. Always a pleasant experience.
Authentic food and atmosphere. Great date spot that I'd recommend for anyone looking to depart from the normal big chain places. Food was mouth watering!
Someone at the restaurant, possibly the owner, hovered throughout the dining room the entire evening. Two waiters introduced themselves to us as our waiter, but one only ended up serving us. The food was good, but the overall atmosphere of the restaurant took away from the enjoyment of the meal.
First time eating at Tony's and we had a great experience!
Very nice meal at Tony’s. Everyone enjoyed their food although there was some lag time in side dishes being brought out but I think it was a misunderstanding and probably not the norm. New waitress was doing her best but was very busy with quiet a few tables. The bar also seems to get backed up and drinks take a while but no big deal. But again no complaints on the food and it is reasonably priced for a nice sit down meal. And the server and owner were very nice. We will go back:)
We had not been to Tony’s for 20 years. It was just delightful. Our food was exceptional. We will definitely come back again.
Amazing food and our server was very knowledgeable and friendly!
Unfortunately a very poor visit to Tony. We had been to Tony's before, but this was truly a sad experience. The pasta was overcooked and the sauce was quite watery. The lamb was fatty and a truly poor presentation. Service was inattentive and inconsistent. Won't be coming back. Sad to see the restaurant underperform the way it did.
We were a party of four that needed to be finished in time to go to the symphony. We also needed three bills. The service was very good and we made it through the courses including the coffee and dessert. We were right on time for our evening. The food was very good and the menu is large and very inviting. You will want to order everything. We will certainly return.
Best Italian I've had in ages. Perfect.
We had a very nice evening with good service and good food. The ambiance is like what we find in Italy. We would have liked a better wine list, with a few Italian wines offered by the glass. Chianti was good, but only Italian choice. Also a very average very small salad was included with our entrees. Next time we will order a better salad. Entrees were very good.
It was our wedding anniversary and as always Tony’s is our favorite place to eat for our anniversary! They always have wonderful food and great service. The owner is a great guy and was sweet and had them bring us a wedding anniversary dessert.
Tony's is hands down one of the best authentic Italian restaurants in Columbus. The service is great, the prices are perfect for the amount of food you receive as well as the quality of food. The ambiance is simply perfect. When the restaurant is busy, it tends to be a little loud in there from all the chatter, but it isn't so bad that you cannot have a conversation with the others around you. I will always highly recommend Tony's for anyone looking for an amazing Italian restaurant that will not break the bank.
