Tony's Italian Ristorante
I throughly enjoyed my first visit!! We were greeted promptly and were seated quickly. The food was excellent and value was wonderful
Great ambience and food and truly outstanding service.
Servie was wonderful, menu seems tired and food not flavorful. I was my server had to wait for the bread to come out of the oven before I received it, it was strangely very cold for being oven fresh. I love the look of the restaurant, I just think the menu needs some work and inspiration.
I wouldn't say we're regulars at Tony's, but we dine there often. Everything about this dining experience is just plain good. It starts with the welcoming greeting as you walk in to the way the place encircles you with the feeling of warmth, cozy and pleasant. The made-in-the-kitchen pastas, sauces and creations such as Tony's special seafood pasta are consistently flavorful and presented really well. For all of this, the prices are more than reasonable.
Going to the theatre, have been many times very convenient. Service was very good.
We asked for a cab this time but asked them to wait 10 minutes. The cab was called immediately and so we were not able to enjoy coffee that was just served.
We had a less than stellar first visit last December. But I am always willing to give a second chance. Last Saturday was gorgeous, so my husband and I decided to visit again and sit on the patio. While not horrible, the patio is blah, very dated cushions on the chairs, and a not particularly clean cement patio. We had a nice server, who seemed to be working hard. First, the wine by glass list is horrendous, surely they can offer a better selection. My husband ordered linguine with meatballs, and I selected the spinach and ricotta filled cannelloni. The server brought out bread (tasteless and dry), with a little ball of what she said was herbed butter. I’d say the ball was the size of a heaping teaspoon. Then our salads, limp, overdressed greens, with two little pieces of diced tomato, and one black olive. My husband’s linguine had a marinara sauce with two meatballs. He said it was not very good. My cannelloni was stuffed with a dry ricotta mixture, no real spinach in sight. Two had marinara, and one had a bechamel (was just a white paste). The marinara on both our entrees was just horrible! I could not identify the off taste, perhaps lots of powdered garlic? To top it off, there was DRIED parsley sprinkled on top-gross! We ordered a side of sautéed mushrooms. I reminded the server when we did not get them, so they arrived when we were about 2/3 through our meal. $6.95 for about 10-15 little slices of white mushrooms-I never complain about prices, but that was crazy!
There are so many wonderful restaurants in Columbus, do not waste your time here!
I made a reservation, and our table was ready when we arrived. The food was excellent. The pasta melted in your mouth and the egg plant Parmesan was delicious but could have been a little warmer. We were on a tight schedule, and our waiter made sure our food arrived promptly so we could stay on schedule. Really enjoyed our visit and will return soon.
Food was excellent. Service was excellent as well. We go to Tony’s for our anniversary dinner and we have nearer been disappointed. We will definitely be returning.
It’s an authentic Italian restaurant with great management and a great atmosphere.
This was our first visit to Tony’s & we were very impressed. Everyone’s meals were delicious, our waiter Mark, while new to Tony’s, was very personable & a delight. We will definitely dine there again.
Food was blah, no flavor. Service felt forced, like she'd rather be doing anything else but taking our order.
I have been going to townies for over 20 years it is one of my all-time favorites. Every chance I get I invite somebody that hasn't been there before my friends have lived in Columbus over 30 years and yet they for various reasons living out in The Burbs never made it to town, so when I suggested it for great Italian food they said yes. And we were not disappointed my husband and our friends had a wonderful time, the food was out of this world as always and our server Brooke was outstanding. They haven't been there you've got to try it I love the feel it is 12 on a scale of 8 it is so good.
Food was okay not excellent
Disappointed in the veal Marsala. Sauce was salty, too thick and over cooked
Been going to Tony’s for over 15 years. Always have a wonderful dinner
We enjoyed our friendly server and the variety of options - it was very quiet for a Saturday night, but the food was good. I wouldn’t recommend the marinara sauce.
Loved the pesto and the chicken breast stuffed with prosciutto and fresh mozzarella! Starting salad and bread were good as well.
Would try again!
We’ve been going there for many years, and hooked a number of friends also. None has expressed other than compliments about the food, service and atmosphere. We always look forward to a visit for an occasion, or just because we can.
We used to go to Tony’s a lot-but tonight we had a bad experience. We got seated at a very bad table, and when we asked to be moved, we were really antagonized by the host (owner). We waited for another table—but the bartender would barely give us the time of day, so it was difficult to even get a cocktail while waiting.
The food was good-and the special, salmon picatta, was very good. Our waitress was good, but we waited a long time for drinks and water.
It was very disappointing—we were really looking forward to our meal, and felt like we weren’t really treated well.
Booked a dinner for 4 to celebrate my best friends birthday-the food was amazing, the restaurant itself was beautiful, but what really made the night special was their attentive service and attention to detail.
Come enjoy a meal at Tony’s, you won’t regret it!
Great food. Nice atmosphere. Always great service.
Delicious, the best Italian we've had in a very long time. It all taste like home from Italy! Will return frequently.
Good food. Good service. Linen table cloth and candle light. Reasonably priced.
Fantastic food, fantastic service. Overall this was a great experience. Would highly recommend.
I love this place. Best veal in the city. Great Wedding soup.
Tony’s is the only authentic restaurant left in Columbus. There scratch cooking is a throwback to the days before corporations took over and standardized all food. Please support them with your business for years to come. It’s perfect for all occasions.
Another great dinner at Tony's! Our waitress was attentive, the food was delicious, and the outdoor patio was perfect!
The best veal in town. The veal calabrese is very original and delicious. Veal Saltimbocca was also outstanding. Tony's is also one of the few restaurants in town that serve escargot which is a favorite appetizer.
A pre-theater dinner, so we had a limited amount of time. Our server paced our meal perfectly, making us not seemed rushed. The food was amazing! We had Nonnies chicken and the wvwning specials a chicken type marsala with shrimp and salmon with a similar sauce but with capers. The only thing slightly not up to par was the spaghetti side. The sauce seemed heavy on some herb. But we commented all night how good the food was. We will be back!
We feel like we’re on vacation when we dine here. Everything about the place takes us away from the daily grind. The only thing I would highly recommend would be Italian theme music to complete the ambiance.
The food tasted absolutely amazing and was very reasonably priced for the atmosphere and food quality.
Tony's is a go-to destination for a white tablecloth, high quality dining experience.
This restaurant is ready to join the list of failed restaurants. We’ve all seen this movie. Low traffic due to poor standards, serving dismal dining experiences one table at a time eventually ends in closure. Tony’s Italian Ristorante misses the mark on many levels and fails to meet even the most basic needs of their guests. After reading all the reviews, there is a consistent theme of bad service and bad experiences. It was our mistake for not doing our homework first. Will not be back.
Excellent service and exceptionally good food!
Tony's looked inviting and it was...the setting of the tables and arch ways are nice, decorative, and seemingly a place speaking to quality. However, the food was less than desirable. The marinara sauce tasted like that from a can, and the amount of linguine was pre-portioned in a cup. Our waiter seemed like an older gentleman who had being doing this job for many years and hates it. He actually said once I ordered, "All that and all you ordered was ...." He removed our wine glasses without asking if we would have liked another glass. Then came back a different time to the table to ask us if we wanted more wine.
The bartender was less than knowledgeable when asked initially about the wine menu.
The ambiance was unforgettably marred by the bad food and even poorer service.
Usually a great experience at Tony's, we had a disappointing one last Friday. Our (overworked!) waitress had to be reminded multiple times to bring back our drinks from being filled or provide us with more bread/butter. Also, the bread basket contains only the ends of many loaves of bread. The meals tasted great but the proportions seem to have significantly decreased since we were there last. It is unlikely we will return to Tony's.
Always great food
This was one of the worst meals we had at Tony’s. It’s going to be a long time before we go back.
This a good consistent Italian restaurant. Portions are not overly large but ample. Pretty good wine list. Reservation are a recommended especially on Friday and Saturday
Show at the Palace
Always love eating here. Great service and very good food. Great place for a romantic evening out.
Great Italian restaurant. We liked it so much, we booked it for the rehearsal dinner for our son’s wedding. Met Tony. Nice guy. I’ll be back.
