Tony & Joe's Seafood Place Ratings and Reviews
Would of given a better rating but we observed that the food selection was reduced yet the price was the same. Haven’t been there in a few years but one couldn’t help notice that the deserts and appetizers were not what they use to be. We celebrated our mother’s 89 birthday wish I’d chosen another place.
I would like to thank Jonathan, Catherine, Unknown wonderful female hostess that assisted us in taking the group picture with the Samsung NOTE phone (:-), and Joey! You all helped make an evening of family and fun amazing, yet absolutely professional. The entire party loved the fresh salad ingredients, crab cakes, and the lobster, to name a few.
Thank you Tony and Joe's Seafood!
I read some mixed reviews so I had some trepidation but all turned out to be great. We did use a Groupon which was a good deal as entrees were high. Some reviews indicated poor service. Ours was excellent. Bread is very basic. Hot fudge sundae tasted more like chocolate sauce, cookie on top just ok, not good enough to waste additional calories. All in all we enjoyed ourselves.
This is always a good place to meet up with friends and visitors to DC. The food is good, the service always good, and the view is lovely. The noise is more manageable than many in the area and we appreciate that and the ability to talk with friends without having to yell over others.
The service was okay, nothing great and our waiter wasn't thrilled to be there which was obvious. The bathrooms are horrible- there is tile missing from the walls, toilet paper all over the floor and they look like a dirty bar bathroom instead of a fine restaurant. I was so glad my visit to the bathroom was at the end of my visit as it would have been very off putting in the middle of my meal. They need to invest in a bathroom renovation desperately to keep a menu with items over $20 on it.
Last night in DC, wanted a relaxed outdoor experience with great food and wine. This place was perfect. Our waiter was young, but knew what he was doing. A professional. His recommendations were spot on, and the food was varied for all tastes. We enjoyed the views of the city and will return with our next visit.
I Love Brunch at Tony and Joes BUT they have a new setup I did not like. I actually had to stand in line and wait to get my food. The previous setup was open and flowed nicely - never waited in line. Food is still good but the new setup is noisy (more tables very close to one another) and one must now stand in line to get food (cheapens the experience).
Our reservation was for 11:00am when T&J’s opened. There were 6 parties, of various number of people, waiting in the bar area to be seated by the hostess. Everyone was seated , out of order, but all were seated even though the hostess did not go by the list of reservations. I had to remind the hostess twice that my party of 3 had reservations and there were plenty of tables with water views, which we requested in the reservation. The food made up for the service but does not justify the $55 per person brunch buffet price with mimosas. We definitely did not eat $55 meal. There was no lobster on the buffet, only shrimp, salmon and crab/shrimp dip which was good, and all the other regular buffet foods . There were 2 carving tables (beef ) and omelet and waffles made to order, basic buffet. Now , here comes the check... my party of three paid separately, which is permitted at T&J because buffet price is flat fee. Two of us paid our individual check with card and the other paid cash. Our server ran the two cards and never bought back the change for the 3rd check. The server assumed that the change was for him. Horrible ! Never assume. He missed his blessing because we all were giving him a 20% tip because we worked in the service industry and realize that receiving a good tip at buffet establishments can be challenging, especially when the cost is over $50 for a buffet. The change was less than 15%! The server did not give my colleague an opportunity to tip . The entitlement attitude is so prevalent in this area! It was our first time at T&J’s and our last. Stick with what we know, back to Farmers Fishers and Bakers! We really enjoy it there (Washing Harbor) and great , fun service!
A friend and DC resident recommended this restaurant. He knows one of the owners. The weather was perfect for outdoor evening dining and we had a table near the waterfront. This is not an inexpensive restaurant so we were surprised at the tables/chairs, which are more suitable for a patio at a fast food joint. And that’s the impression we were ultimately left with: despite the nice setting and high prices the idea is to move clients in and out with as little effort for the restaurant as possible. A martini was served in a wine glass. Beer and water were served in flimsy, clear plastic cups. One gets better service ware at Nationals ballpark. The seafood was okay, not exceptional, but service was again evocative of a fast food establishment. The wait staff called out the main course orders to the diners like barkers at a county fair.
If one is a tourist and wants an unexceptional dining experience on Washington Harbor this might be the place, but it isn’t cheap.
Recommended by Embassy Suites Georgetown. Table had crumbs on floor. Waiter attentive, not personable. Bread tasted like it came off a grocery store shelf. Clam chowder fair, salad good, swordfish good and large serving , side vegetables good but serving too small. Long neck clams large and tough, very difficult to chew and swallow. Shrimp overcooked. Last two dishes overused lemon to cover flaws.
