Best seafood in the DC area. Each dish is well conceived, prepared and presented. The vegetables that are included with the entrees are creative as well as delicious, and would be priced a la carte at most restaurants of this caliber. Friendly (but not invasive) service. Reasonably priced for the quality and the beautiful setting overlooking the Potomac. Tips: The $11 mixed greens salad with grape tomato, goat cheese, almonds, apples, and champagne vinaigrette fills a dinner plate -- two people can share. Italian lemon cream cake is fabulous and is served with a mound of real whipped cream and fresh berries.
Always great time and food is sooooo good! Service was excellent and would highly recommend!
Wonderful birthday dinner with my husband!
The service I received was sub par and there was no one there when we arrived so our service should’ve been impeccable.
Perfect place to go for great food and to have a great time food is really fresh and taste really good
Beautiful ambience. But service that particular night was sub par. Starting with the hostess immediately asking before seating us if we were using a groupon? (We were not,but if we were there is a tact in asking) one person spilled a good amount of my fiancee’s drink on the menu, and another dropped rolls almost in his lap. We had to ask several times for things and it wasn’t busy at all. If the food wasn’t absolutely perfect to us this review would
Be much lower.
The food, the views, the service are all top notch. One of my favs in Georgetown.
Great everything, but a false but very annoying fire alarm went off for a significant portion of the meal. Not cool, and no gesture made to apologize or compensate. If the food and service wasn't superb, I would have marked them down considerably. Hopefully, the errant alarm gets repaired pretty fast.
When we got there, the lady at the reception seemed like she was so out of it and was least bit interested in being there. it was a week night and wasn't even crowded. It seemed like a very quiet day for the restaurant. I didn't pay much heed, but our server was good, a little less judgmental guy i'd say. Some how a different server showed up at our table towards the end of our meal and when i requested for dessert menu, his prompt response was, "Do you have a groupon?" I didn't know what his question meant and i asked if i couldn't dine there without a groupon or if he had a different menu for those with a groupon. He seemed flustered at that point because i called him out of course. I think it was just bizarre. A. a good server would offer me a dessert menu B. when they don't and the customer requests for it, you don't ask them how would they be paying, full or partial with groupon. My experience in terms with their customer service was bad, i don't think i'll ever go back, that said, arctic char and baked sea bass were delicious. The dessert was good too.
Always a pleasure to go here.
Both of our meals were exceptional, i.e. the sea bass and the blackened redfish. Our server, Alan, could not have been better. It was a wonderful pre-Valentine's dinner at an exceptional value.
For me 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
For my girl friend
Great service and excellent food, thought I wish the bread was served hot. HigHey recommend it.
The food taste AWESOME and the customer service was good. The cost was a great Price . The facility was very clean, a wonderful view of the water.
Just don't attend the New Years Eve Party unless you are barely 21.
The food was phenomenal but the service started out below average . We received bread without saucers . Our waiter laughed about how the guys where preparing for brunch and being lazy with current duties as we had to ask for silverware . Our service improved by the time our entrees arrived which upgraded our overall experience .
Used a Groupon deal and it was all very good. Received an email the next day that we didn’t show for our reservation? Kind of rude.
No napkins to begin. The waiter's service could have been better. Great view, food good
I had always thought Tony & Joe's was just a place to drink with friends ... I had no idea that the menu/quality of food was so good. Our entire dinner was delicious, my favorite was the Chili Garlic Shrimp, and we will certainly be back for it!
Food is great and service is exceptional , outstanding
The service was great as always but the quality of the food has declined tremendously. My family used to make it a habit to always go to brunch at Tony and Joe’s but this last experience left a bad taste in our mouth.
I believe that we picked the perfect Sunday, Superbowl Sunday to go to Tony & Joe's. Although we had reservations, we could have walked up and been seated. The place was not crowded at all. The staff was attentive and proficient. The food was plentiful and fresh. The location was great with a great view of the river. In my opinion the price, $49 pp, is a bit steep for brunch, but if you have the dollars to spend GO
This is our second time there and went on a Groupon. It was a very good deal. The pork chop and the salmon were both very good. The salad was excellent. We did not have room for dessert and brought it home. Without the Groupon, the meal would have been overpriced but feel it was a great value for what we did pay.
We enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and quiet, romantic vibe to celebrate our one-month wedding anniversary. The waiter was subpar, but overall, it was nice.
Used a groupon coupon and maybe that’s why the experience was less satisfying. More than average amount of food but of middling quality. The selection was less than implied on the offering. The waiter was not very enthusiastic. Funny thing was when the check came the “value” of the included house wine was much higher than their regular menu wines (they show the value for tip purposes). Waiter brought us the check while we were still eating and then checked the tip amount while we were still sitting there! Sorry there are too many good restaurants to chose from to go back.
Food was delicious and service was excellent.
We have been coming to Tony and Joes since before they remodeled years ago. Not many place you can view the DC waterline at the Potomac, and have a great meal. They are one of my go-to spots for special occasions and when friends come to visit.
The food is very very good, and very predictable. The only thing I would change is to add a few new items every now and then. Also, the bar is not really up to speed on the latest smokey drinks and special cocktails.
We will continue to visit and enjoy the view and great dishes.
My table was closer to the back of the dining area but still offered a great view. The servers were polite and attentive but not over the top. I never felt rushed or unwanted. The food came out quickly (I guess dinner for two is easy and fast). The food was great and the portions were filling.
Fantastic location along with great food. Ask questions about the menu, as 2 of the items we ordered weren’t exactly what we anticipated. One was a pleasant surprise, one wasn’t. Overall a great night out!
Overpriced for the food quality and options. The only reason why I came here is because they were participating in restaurant week but even then I find the food to be only ok and not worth the price.
The food was outstanding as usual but the, visit this time was less than acceptable. Our waiter was down right unpleasant. When we return, I will definitely request that we do not have the same waiter.
Very good food and service in a great location at the Washington Harbor with scenic views of the Potomac and the Kennedy Center.
Everything was superb! Service was excellent and the food was flavorful. It was my first time visiting and not my last.
We have dined at Tony and Joe's multiple times... The food is exceptional, and the value, with Groupon, is great. We have dined for our anniversary too, which is truly a special occasion....
Overall great restaurant and worth the time each DC visit!
Nice dinner spot for friends' get-together or family dinner.
Great location and view. Food was just ok; nothing special. Service was flat, unfriendly. The hostess literally said nothing as she escorted us to the table. The waiter was like a cater waiter. Bland, boring, dull meal. I will say that in the summer time the outdoor bar is a lively, fun space. Too bad this meal such a dud. Much better options nearby.
I hadn't been to this place in over 5 years and I was surprised to see the food was still great. Our server was non-existant but that may have been due to the fact we had a groupon, never the less my overall experience was pretty good.
we liked it !==================================================================
