Great food and even better view amazing view actually
The location can’t be beat! Beautiful views. Nice to walk around. Romantic.
We had the steam-pot and I was so disappointed with the lack of seasoning. Not a lot of attention to detail here. Also, their brownie wasn’t that good. An ok experience at best. But their mixed greens salad was delicious and Joey our service was nice.
Menu variations weren’t as pleasing as I anticipated
Very nice place the Ambience of the place was perfect.
The setting and service were marvelous--right next to the Potomac River with a beautiful view of the river, Theodore Roosevelt Island, and the Kennedy Center. The food, however, was not that marvelous. Our lunch was marred by the number of pieces of shells in our crab cake sandwiches. Our group was constantly picking out shell pieces from the crab cake. Not good.
My friends and I had a very enjoyable lunch while on vacation in the DC area. The fish tacos were fantastic and both of my friends raved about the clam chowder.
Dark, needed flashlight for menu, service sporadic, noise level high, food ordinary
The food was OK, not great. Service was OK, not great. Atmosphere was OK.
Expected tourist trap. The food was very good.
It was nice for my family outing. (Husband and infant)
Left after sitting at the table for 20 mins with no one coming near us, it was 6:30 and my 10 year old was starving. Shame the menu was looked good.
Service was good. Food & drinks were just ok. The price for steak entree went up by more than $10. Ribs was very dry & not flavorful. Crab cake had too many shells in it.
Enjoyed the Evening Weather was great and Outside Seating was perfect! Food was AMAZING
My sister-cousin's 50th birthday celebration was a hit! First time she and another sister-friend experience the Tony & Joe's experience and both said they will be back with more family/friends! Food was good as always!
Great place on a cool fall evening. Great views & food & service. We'll be back.
Excellent food and excellent service!
The waitress was annoying. Maybe she was having a bad day. Maybe I was having a bad day. I asked her if the menu is a la cart, she answered “of course!” It is not. I just wanted to know what my meal came with so that I could order the right amount of food. And, we asked for separate bills—we were both using company credit cards—she said that wouldn’t be possible because it would take to long. Which is an unacceptable answer. I still tipped well because, despite the fact that my friend found a piece of metal in her food, we were able to make the best of the evening.
Had a 11am reservation, arrived at 10:53 and the hostess said “ oh we don’t
No me gusto la atención, camarero Licia desesperado
Enjoyable experience celebrating our girlfriends birthday.
Once a year we come for a birthday. Worth every penny.
Lobster was not good and way overpriced. Overall, a big
When we are in Georgetown we love coming to Tony & Joe's. The food is very good and to be able to sit outside on the waterfront is part of the amazing ambiance. On the weekends it can get really busy and noisy but so fun for people watching. The wait staff is good but sometimes don't come back frequently enough.
Now I know why it was so easy to get an Open Table reservation. The place was empty on a Friday nite as the food is horrible and the service is equally bad. The surrounding restaurants were packed . Sad to see how this place has continued to deteriorate over the past years. Great location and scenery but that does not make up for bad food, bad management.
We were there for my fiancée’s birthday dinner and everything was great. I didn’t know if they had anything to do for people’s birthdays in terms of cake or anything so I didn’t think to ask.
A bit disappointed that when I noted the reservation was for an anniversary dinner that it wasn't even observed by the restaurant. Disappointed in the cedar roasted salmon, though my husband's arctic char was fine. Prompt service.
Tourist trap. Beautiful view but our food was not great and took way too long to come.
Didn’t love it. We only got appetizers but they were similar to something you’d get at Friday’s. Drinks were meh. Patio furniture needs some love. Wish everything was better, could be a great place if more love was put into it.
One word will do it . . . FANTASTIC . . .
when it comes to the food, the service and the ambiance. We enjoyed our selves so much that we returned for dinner the very next night even though there were a host of other very fine restaurants from which to choose.
Great food, and great views! Enjoyed having Birthday dinner here!
Not our first time here. We love sitting by the windows and the view of Kennedy Center and the waterfront. Food is always excellent as well as the service. Getting into the Fall months, so outdoors is better than in the midsummer heat. We will return soon. Thank you!
In generals we really liked Tony & Joe's Seafood Place. The location and the food is excellent. Our service was lacking. We had to ask for things several times and the waiter wasn't very attentive. I'd certainly go here again but hope to have a different waiter.
Family get together.
My wife and I on in town for a few days. We traveled to Waste Harbor and dined at Tony and Joe’s. We enjoyed our meal very much. Our server was helpful and friendly. After we ordered, I was pleased that our food was served as quickly as it was. We shared their version of a caprese salad. It wasn’t what I was expecting, but it was very tasty. The tomatoes in the salad were fresh and juicy.
My wife had the crab cakes. The meal was served in a large bowl with a corn salsa and marble potatoes. She enumerated meal. I had the broiled arctic char. The fish was very mild and a sun dried tomato pesto gave the fish a nice flavor boost. The Yukon mashed potatoes tasted homemade. The entree was also served with a generous serving of asparagus.
For dessert we shared was a waffle loaded with a large scoop of butter pecan ice cream with caramel sauce. We both enjoyed it.
It was a beautiful evening to dine along the Potomac. The wonderful sunset only added to our experience.
Nice meal outside - food excellent; service so-so. Location great on a beautiful evening
The atmosphere was fantastic, especially being seated outside. However, the food was just okay. Totally would go back for the vibe and location.
The restaurant was not crowded since it was a weekday lunch after Labor Day. We were able to hear each other. We had a table reserved and were able to sit by the window. Service was good, although we had to signal for water refills. Portions were generous and everyone’s order was very good. Will return.
Decent flavors but overpriced dishes. Service was average , great for hanging by the harbor to people watch or a pricey meal after a boat tour
