Ladies celebrating Father’s Day
We were in DC on an extended business trip and wanted local flavor seafood. Tony & Joe’s did not disappoint. A wonderful dinner and wonderful place with great views of the water.
The dish fried soft crab that i ordered was bland, not even taste of the crab i expected. Crab cakes sandwich was good as per wife did not exceed her expectations. Also reserved this but did not seat on a table with a view since its available.
Excellent crab cakes! Beautiful atmosphere and great service!
3 of us were celebrating our bdays
Great steak and food all around for everything we ordered.
Haven’t eaten here in years. Disappointing is the best I can muster. Touristy, mediocre meal and while I eased for patio seating because of the nice weather the outdoor seating was not great. I won’t be returning
Was quite disappointed in the shrimp tacos. Shrimp was chewy & slaw had a “spoiled” taste & smell.
Food was fresh, refreshed, tasty. Serving tables were clean and colorful, omelette chef was courteous and capable, although I was surprised he couldn’t produce a ham and cheese omelette because he had no ham and didn’t offer to go get some. Desserts could use an upgrade, although the creme brûlée was a pleasant and delicious addition to the offerings.
Wonderful experience! Great view of the Potomac. Crab cakes were fresh, full of meat and flavor. Our table enjoyed mussels in wine - delicious. Everyone picked a different fish entree and all were amazing! Tony came personally to the tables making sure all was perfect. A Georgetown Gem - not to be missed.
We have been fan's of this restaurant for years. We took two guests with us on Saturday evening. We all had a magnificent time. I would highly recommend this restaurant to friends and family.
We been several times, that day wasn’t great. My crab cake had a sour taste but my boyfriends didn’t. The manager came over to offer to cook again or get me something else. I declined because I wasn’t trying anything else. The atmosphere was awesome outstanding from the seating to the weather outdoors. We’ll go back another time. I will not order my same dish. I ordered salmon w/crab cake on top. The salmon didn’t have any seasoning, very bland taste.
Lets just say dont waste your money, time, or appetite. This place has gone down over the years. I visited for Sunday brunch and the food was mediocre, the omelets were cooked to death literally, and I had to go find waitstaff just to pay my check. The grits were waterey and tasted more like gritty chicken broth than grits, even the live jazz band was horrible. The chairs and tables in the retauraunt were old and worn!
Tony and Joe would be ashamed to see what has become of their establishment. Please go somewhere else for brunch and maybe they will see a decline in their customer base and get their act together.
The ambience, server and the starter's were good, the entree's were strictly ok. Nothing too great. The Cedar Plan Salmon was underseasoned and the onions that were placed under the fish just didn't add any flavour to it.
Broiled Magi Mahi was good but too much Cheese with the rice, could go easy on the cheese .
The oysters were spot on and extremely Fresh, the Fish Board platter (Smoked Salmon) was done really well.
Drinks were good Moscow Mule and the Rum
pedestrian food; lackadaisical service; over priced; not even good for tourists
Sitting in the outdoor seating was the best option for taking in the sights. The fish tacos and garlic shrimp appetizer was delicious. The tomato and feta salad was excellent. I highly recommend the lemon cake for desert.
The food was good, typical but nothing spectacular. The service was not good at all. We arrived before 5pm on a Saturday so were very few diners and we had to ask to have someone take a drink order. The assigned waiter only came for the drink order and to bring the check. There are too many other restaurants with better food in the area for the same price to bother returning.
This restaurant had received very good reviews on Open Table, so I thought it might be a good place to go, especially given its location on the Georgetown waterfront. The food was very good, and we were able to sit outside overlooking the water. The service, unfortunately, was less than stellar. We felt rushed. Several servers tried to clear our plates before we were finished. If we put our forks down for a few seconds, someone would come over and ask if we were done. In one instance, the server tried to take away our plates without even asking whether we had finished. The restaurant was not at all crowded so we could not understand this behavior, which marred what was otherwise a good dinner.
Excellent menu and wine list. The oysters and sea bass were delicious.
We dined al fresco and had a lovely afternoon.
Very good seafood. We really enjoyed the mussels we ordered.
I absolutely love this restaurant for Sunday brunch. The staff is so friendly and nice and the quality of food is awesome. It's also nice to see the one of the owners walking around from time to time. The crab and shrimp dip is my favorite. I don't like it from anywhere else. I made reservations so the table was already selected and set but i would have liked to have the option of where I can set but that's so minor.
See you soon!
Love the food, very fresh oysters! Will go back again.
I was really hopeful that this would be a great restaurant to host an upcoming event. However, I was seated next to the water/wait station and the service was incredibly slow. The food was average at best and pricey. It was a weekend of graduation parties which I totally understood, however it felt like I was the forgotten guest. Not a cool experience for someone who was going to do an event there.
My son completed his first year of college with a 3.0 GPA!
A must stop when in DC. Beautiful setting- wonderful food. Outdoor seating a plus when weather permits.
This place is over rated..the food is expensive but the quality was poor..over tated. I wouldn’t recommend this place to no one for nothing.
Lovely all around!
While traveling my husband and I met a friend at Tiny and Joe’s for lunch. Food, service and location was amazing! We will definitely be back when in D.C.
One of the best meals I have ever had. The service was top notch as well. I highly recommend this place if you are in town.
We love the crab cakes each time plus the view of the waterfront. Btw, it’s a clear win this time as we could dine out w/o handing an electronic device to our 4.5 year old for the first time in ages! Hallelujah! You get 5 stars - we could engage him with conversation about the ample action on the Potomac and bye bye iPhone!
Food was fantastic. Absolutely the best. Service top notch.
We reserved a table on line but arrived 30 minutes early. The hostess was able to seat us outside right away without a problem. Portions were very reasonable and price was what we expected. It was a great dining experience.
This used to be our go to seafood and sit by the water place. The food tasted old and very unpleasant. would not recommend
Great Sunday brunch. Good food, lots of choices, nice live music.
Been here so many times and always have a great experience. From the hostess to the serves to the food to the views and band, always excellent.
On a sunny weekend afternoon, Tony & Joe's is a great place to watch the world go by from an outdoor table. It'd be great if OpenTable notified its users that those reservations don't apply to outdoor tables, only indoor seating. The food is solid, not outstanding. Service is attentive. Noise level can be high outdoors, but it's a fun, lively atmosphere. You are paying for the food AND the outdoor seating/view. As long as you know that going in, you'll feel T&J's is a decent value.
Our servers were fantastic... they took my food allergies seriously and made sure we still had a lot of fun! The food is delicious here!
Tony and Joe’s Seafood Place has good food and ambiance. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!
Waiter put my son’s order in wrong.. we got our food before his because he had to wait for them to make his meal
