The experience was great, the food was okay. I think it is a place that you will enjoy depending on your palate.
The waiter spoke very poor English, and apparently he was better at speaking than understanding! Multiple ordering errors.
Our server was terrible. Extremely unsympathetic. My friend got her wine and her glass was extremely dirty. We couldn’t even find our server and had to flag someone down. Our server didn’t even apologize. We had an appetizer and none of our plates were cleared. Or empty glasses. We then got our food. My moms salmon was extremely undercooked. Once again our server didn’t even apologize. We barely saw him in the 2 hours we dined at Tony and Joe’s. But of course when we were ready for the check he was fast to give it to us so he could turn the table. When you’re dining at a high end place you expect the best. When you spend $177 on dinner for 3 people you expect great service. We had absolute terrible service which ruined our dining experience.
We enjoyed a wonderful dining experience (Thanks to Groupon) the food is always great & service excellent
Food was not that great and waiter acted like he wanted to be somewhere else
We got there early and we were seated promptly we enjoyed the view, and the service.
What can I say, I have been eating at Tony & Joe's for the past 6 years. As usual the food was excellent. I had the fried soft shell crabs. They were fried to perfection. The red skin potato salad tasted home made, and the string beans were fresh and crisp. My friend also commented on how fresh her seafood was. We decided to eat on the patio instead of inside. Great for people watching on a warm Washington afternoon. Excelkent girls night. Our waiter, Mathew was great. He was prompt, friendly, and attentive. We had tickets to a show at the Kennedy Center, and we had time to enjoy our dinner and not feel rushed. When ny water got refilled a young man poured water into my drink, not my water. It wasn't watered down to much but a new drink was delivered promptly without charge. Perfect al fresco dinning.
Excellent food, excellent service, excellent pricing, excellent view! Can't beat that!!
Great food and service!!
Food was fantastic!
Brunch here never disappoints. Lots to choose from and they keep it fresh.
We had a group of five come for Sunday brunch after Easter service. We had reservations and we're seated immediately. The food. service and overall ambience were great. We will be coming back.
I am never disappointed when I visit Tony and Joe’s the food and ambiance are always good. The serve was very polite as well. They were preparing for the Sunday brunch and probably getting ready to close the kitchen when we arrived so the servers seemed to be pretty busy running around. I enjoyed the experience and so did my friend who lives in the DMV but had never been there.
Rather touristy seafood restaurant with old-fashioned, uninspired seafood menu. Everything was prepared adequately. Service was uninspiring. Ambiance is nothing special. Location is everything.
After reading reviews on DC area restaurants, we’ve been looking forward to trying Tony & Joe’s. We had a reservation so we had the option to be seated straight away inside or go outside and take our chances on getting a table since the patio is not part of the reservations. It was a beautiful sunset and the patio was packed, so inside with a view and ac was great. Our cocktails were great, I had the shrimp & grits and my wife had bacon wrapped shrimp. Both were perfectly cooked and delicious flavor. We had a couple of servers waiting on us but I’m don’t think it really helped, we sat for a long time waiting for one of them to bring a dessert menu. We finally ordered the carrot cake which was good with the caramel sauce and berries. It took a little while to get our bill and payout which started to take away from the whole experience, so they started out pretty strong but since the patio was so busy our two servers were not very attentive.
The striper was excellent. The Oysters excellent. On the water nice restaurant inside and out. I would recommend this restaurant for any occasion.
This was my first dining experience at Tony & Joe's. It was very good food and the staff was friendly and attentive during our Sunday brunch. This is a great place to sit and have a meal with an awesome view of the Georgetown waterfront. I really loved the buffet brunch. It had something for everyone.
Service was slow and poor. Forgot drinks and fright to take an order. Was not busy.
Complete waste of money. Seafood was not fresh - we ordered seafood pot and half of the mussels / clams were closed so we couldn't eat it. We couldn't track down a waitress - after trying to get someone's attention for 10 min, we had to walk up to the register and request a check. They begin to treat us quite horribly after they realized that we weren't going to order drinks but just eat dinner. Will never go back.
The food was excellent and the view was very pleasant
The service was spot on, often enough and not too intrusive. The food was perfectly seasoned with a delicious flavor. We shared the salmon appetizer, the crab cakes and blackened red fish. Would highly recommend this restaurant!
Just okay. Nothing outstanding about the food or service.
Great Georgetown waterfront views. Service was excellent and good seafood.
Inattentive wait staff. Food was sloppy and I became ill after eating he crab cakes.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Tony & Joe's. My husband had the Caesar salad and had the mixed greed salad which I really liked. He had the salmon on a plank while I had the puttenesca. Mine was divine--very spicy with capers and calamatas.
Our only problem was the distance to walk from the garage. I use a cane and was exhausted by the time we got there.
The food was delicious and I loved the ambiance, view and sevice.
Great food and a lively atmosphere. Nice scenic view.
Awesome. Service was exceptional.
Our 2nd time dining here at Tony and Joe's and the food and service was just as good. From the salads, crab and shrimp dip, my crab cakes and his ribs, everything was fantastic. We will definitely be back whenever possible.
I love this place! My sisters and I go there for our annual once a month happy hour/dinner girl talk.
Had a date with my husband using a groupon- food and setting just beautiful- not the sort of place we go to often so it was a nice treat. Had enough food to hold some over for dinner later in the day. Hubby had two crabcakes and I had the hot pot- both full of high quality seafood. I would skip dessert here- they were dried out a bit. Wish the groupon gave you the choice for soup as that would have been nice on the cool day we were having.
Great location on the Potomac in Georgetown. Menu is focused on seafood. I had the sea bass with risotto, which was well prepared.
Great Sunday brunch with a wonderful jazz trio which made the experience extra special
Great food, ambiance and service. Love the live music during Sunday’s brunch.
Great service. Stripped bass was amazing
The views were wonderful but our dinner was only fair. Service was slow.
Great value through Groupon . Food well prepared and generous in portions.
Terrific Cod Dish. The team of servers were outstanding.
Food is always good. We’re never disappointed.
Great experience. I love the atmosphere and the ribs
