Great time, party of 9, took good care of us. Great food, awesome cheesecake.
The staff is so amazing and the food was delicious and save room for dessert
Can't leave without having dessert
Baked potatoes were not hot. Otherwise ok. Seated promptly and decent service.
We were greeted cordially and seated immediately even though we were a few minutes early. Service was fine. Crab stew was fine but crab cakes and crab stuffing were too salty. Wasn’t our favorite dining experience in Savannah.
Overall very good. Cocktails were excellent. Steamed clams and mussels was good as were shrimp & grits. Portion sizes were quite generous. Service was very attentive. Only complaint was the green beans. Aside from being the texture of baby food, they were ice cold. Never heated, straight from the refrigerator to our table.
The food and service was ok. The atmosphere left a little to be desired - it wasnt very "tavern-ish."
Great night out with family! Gathered from three states to celebrate our niece’s wedding the next day. Very fun place, good food, excellent wine and beer on tap. Great finger food and burgers. Sat our table of 10 on time, even a little early. Highly recommend! Just across from the Hyatt Regency!
Nice menu, friendly staff, reasonable prices and good quality food. Not the flashiest place on Bay/River but suited our family well.
Service was awesome. Beer and Wine delicious. Steaks were ok; good but not outstanding. Paid extra for a side salad that was nothing but shredded lettuce, tomato, shredded cheese. What seemed to be home aid croutons were tasty but not enough to justify the extra cost. Coleslaw was kinda dry. Will go back, but maybe stick with burgers and sandwiches in the future.
Third visit in the last four weeks. Great place for dinner And drinks.
We went for dinner on Valentine's Day with our son, daughter-in-law and 2-year-old grandson. It was not crowded for our early seating, and the waitstaff was very attentive and friendly. The food was good but not great, but it was a very nice evening for our family group.
Woodie took awesome care of us and it was his first night on the floor. Great bar staff too.
Great place for lunch or dinner, with lots of history.
Restaurant Week with friends.
Other than waiting for 30 min past reservation time it was ok, food took a while to come out, pretty noisy but it was after all a bar.
Visited in February. Still had Christmas decorations up. Staff was friendly. Food was pretty good. I expected more. It wasn't awful but wasn't great.
Enjoyed this tavern as part of Savannah's Restaurant Week!
Food and drink were as good as any in town. Service superb, can't say enough, very well kept. I'll go back often
Crab stuffed flounder was absolutely delicious (slightly over seasoned in spots but tolerable). Service was top notch!! Can’t wait to go back!!
Went there for restaurant week because of the menu. Very impressive. Probably better than Ruth’s Chris. My wife and I had the firecracker shrimp for the appetizer, the ribs and steak entree and of course, the cheesecake for desert. I have commented favorably to several friends of mine.
Restaurant week menu was nicely set. Fried green tomatoes were very good, but accompanying sauce tasted too much like slightly seasoned mayo. KC sauce on ribs overpowered the pork which had little other seasoning. Both gave well-prepared food a corporate taste. 8oz strip was pretty good. I was happily surprised to find sausage in the rice but others might not appreciate the same surprise. The maple bacon cheesecake jar was excellent. Service was polite and efficient but rather inflexible with respect to requests, and smacked of corporate margin-watching over customer service. They will not bring bread before you order your meal, even if waiting for members of your party who are delayed. Another diner in my party commented that the flounder was ok, but nothing to write home about. Overall, it was a good dining experience, but with so many restaurants in Savannah that execute similar meals at a higher level, a diner could do better elsewhere.
We decided to try a new place for restaurant week. The service was fine. Dessert was good, appetizers OK. My husband's ribs and NY strip were good. My stuffer flounder was so spicy with pepper, it was almost inedible. Not interested in returning
Awesome menu! Awesome food! Incredible service! Great location!!! I can’t say enough! We had an awesome experience!!
Not worth the money. There are too many other great places to eat in Savannah to ever go here again.
Service was awful, it took 2.5 hours to eat for four people and we all got the specials and once we did get our food it was dry and seemed to have just been reheated.
Don’t waste a meal here.
Restaurant week!! It was busy and out waitress seemed like she was chasin around with a ton to do, but was super friendly and helpful.
A patron across from us was a “complainer”, loud talker and used filthy language-and the servers, wait staff, and a manager went over and above to try to appease him
Stopped for a night in Savannah on the way to Florida. We were looking for moderately priced, casual, and a short walk from our hotel (Hampton Inn), and Tondee's fit the bill. Waitstaff was excellent and fun. My tiny martini glass was only half full, although it was inexpensive. My wife's grilled oysters were very disappointing. The cheddar (?) cheese topping was like what is put on potato skins in a dive bar. Her hush puppies were ok - a bit dry. I ordered gumbo which was very good. I had only about a spoonful of gumbo when my entree came leaving me to decide which one to eat cold. I had the steak and rib combo. The steak was average but the ribs were outstanding. If I'm in the neighborhood I would go back but probably have ribs or a burger and skip the martini and oysters.
Nice restaurant with local food and good service. Worth to go there!
All the staff especially Woody, Michael and Sharon are awesome.
We went there as a big, family party for dinner. We hand some special food needs in the party (vegan and vegetarian with some) and the accommodated well with suggestions and unique takes on the items available (thank you!). One in particular, as all the dairy was removed, the kitchen came back to validate we didn’t want sprinkled cheese on the veggie bowl (thanks, again).
We went down to the basement (see the website as to why) where we found the woman who was in the video. We talked to her, got a quick tour, and learned about her cheesecakes (amazing BTW). We asked lots of questions and got our filled before appetizers.
The our guy, Fed. Fed was our server and he really built up the excitement by planning our meal, timing the basement trip, to timing his own personal stories of the city, the restaurant, and his own personal experiences. We loved him, our kids adored him, and we will definitely come back (and ask for him).
The food is tasty, the price was reasonable, the staff was around at all times to make sure drinks were filled and food was as expected. The manager came around to make sure we were happy and we were!
Thank you all.
Great pub with great food and service be sure to ask for Jake. My wife and I stopped in for dinner and drinks 3 out of our 6 days while in Savannah.
We were just not a fan of the drinks or the food.
We visited on 25 December and 30. The first visit was perfect, food, drinks and the waiter were awesome . The second time Just the opposite the bread was Warmed up in the microwave which made it rubbery it took three loafs before we got a fresh one. The waiter wasn’t as good eaither.
Friendly staff and good service is Tondee Tavern's best attribute. The food is descent and the atmosphere is definitely sports bar tavern. It is more appropriate for a young person's after sporting event or to watch a game.
Service here was super, especially for working a
the owner must take the title of the Rican-lada off
this is a misrepresentation of a culture and the pina colada drink
ALSO it was insulting
Struggled to get into Xmas day restaurant. Finally took a chance booking here worked out fine. Hubby had ribs, I did the Salmon. Great food, only issue hubby disliked the sauce for ribs. To quote "too tangy, want sweet". Ribs were falling off bone.
Great service we were there on Christmas night and the place was very crowded, but we received great service and our orders were exactly as we ordered and delicious.
Been to this restaurant several times and it is inconsistent at best. Sometimes it was great, others, not so much.
As my wife would say: nothing to write home about.
I wanted to like this place on Christmas Eve but it wasn't to be. Slow service, a server who disagreed with my husband as he reported the beer he received was not the IPA he ordered. She replied that it was, despite a different server delivering it to our table. It took forever to get a white Russian and the second drink I ordered sat at the bar so long, I overheard the bartender ask twice whose drink that was. I did raise my hand. Our meal took over an hour to arrive, with the server stopping once during that time to check on us. She did apologize for delay and failed to refill our dwindling water glasses. I watched several other servers, apparently more competent, take care of their tables around us. No bread with our salads, and no apology for the undercooked steak we returned for a bit more grill time. I really wanted to like this place....
Food was awesome our server audriana was awesome
