haven't been there in a while...was pleasantly surprised....strict adherance to CV protections...excellent well priced food. what more can you ask? go ther3 again - Yes!!
The food was great!! the service was a little slow!!
Food was good. Portions are small. Left not completely full
First dining experience out with restaurants opening back up! Our server was fantastic, she was friendly, patient, and wore proper PPE. Upon entering the restaurant a face mask was not enforced. I felt portions were smaller in comparison for the price but understand the restaurant was doing everything they could to keep patrons safe by using nice disposable cups, plates, and utensils.
Ask for Kim! Best server I have had in a long time, she made the experience top notch! Food was also amazing! Very clean as well, staff taking all of the right precautions.
The food was great as always! I finally was able to get my March birthday Surf & Turf dinner in person. Our server, John, was great and quite accommodating.
Flawless. Covid Flawless. They’re amazing. Overly cautious.
Been to Tom’s many times and it has always been great. We took a few friends this time to celebrate the re-opening of restaurants due to COVID. The meal was served entirely on plastic plates. Not entirely sure what the thought is there as many other restaurants are using their normal dishes. Is plastic somehow safer? Perhaps the dishwasher wasn’t available to come back to work? Anyways it really took away from the experience and a lot of the food was cold. I understand businesses are still getting back into the swing of things after the long shutdown but it wasn’t even close to the level of experience we have had at Tom’s pre-COVID. Hopefully it gets back to that level soon.
It's been too long since we dined at Tom's. We will be back more often now. Our server was KIM. Absolutely the best. She helped make the whole experience great. Oysters were fabulous (thanks to her). We loved it.
From the time I walked in the door from a very pleasant hostess to the time I left , was overall a good experience. The manager kim was great. & the overall experience was nothing short of amazing. Service was consistent but not over bearing. Def recommend!
groupon made the trip worth going for the surf and turf...waited a while to be service n our food took much longer than expected...had a nice waitress but got skipped over before we were service...my husband was more disappointed in that than the hair we found in our food...food was okay ...this was our second trip there...service/food was better the first time n its was busy then...
Portions could be larger. But, as my son, quality over quantity. Food was fabulous!
Food was tasty and fresh. Enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was attentive.
Food was good but a little pricey for the amount. Will still be back
The oysters were wonderful! Our waitress, Dalia was fantastic, we would give her 10 stars if we could!!!
Server was not the best. The server didn't provide my table the same service as other tables she was responsible for.
The food was amazing! The service was excellent. Two thumbs up for sure. Definitely a repeat.
Excellent wait staff! Food was quite good and fresh!
Had a great first experience! I will definitely come back maybe during the week on a down day. Place is small but food and wait staff were amazing! The Spanish coffee was to DIE for!!!
My husband and I have been fans of Tom’s for over 20 years. We are oyster/seafood lovers and we could always count on great oysters and fresh seafood dishes at Tom’s...until yesterday
We arrived and were told there was a 3 hour wait? At 6pm? Really? Went on Open Table and booked a table for 6:15. Cocktails at the bar were fast and delicious 🍸🍸. Always delighted with Tom’s selection of oysters we ordered a dozen (4x 3 different varieties) + a Caesar salad + Lobster carbonara from the Lobster fest menu.
The oysters were literally plopped down on our table with no seafood fork in the oysters, no plates, no cutlery and NO EXPLANATION of which oysters were which. We were surprised and disappointed.
The kitchen split our salad and main course as we asked (nice). Salad was one of best Caesar salads I’ve ever had. Delicious, fresh with a unique presentation. Yum
My husband wanted the lobster carbonara, I was pushing the lobster fries. We should have gone with my suggestion . The carbonara was one of the most flavorless dishes I’ve experienced. The carbonara sauce desperately needed salt. I can only chalk this up to a lack of bacon(very little in our portion)and poor quality cheese in the sauce. Percorino or parmigiana would provide plenty to a dish, this had none.
My husband was so disappointed and angry about the meal he vowed to never return.$52 for a dozen oysters is VERY expensive. Being that I had no idea what I was eating it was very frustrating. I can get a dozen similar quality oysters at Bill’s, Streetside or Rochester Chop House for $15 less at a restaurant with much better atmosphere. Shame ☹️ We won’t be back anytime soon and I suggest you spend your money elsewhere for a better meal
Good food selections a little bit of a wait but ok
Food and service were great. Busy for happy hour but cleared out quickly afterwards.
Food was ok but overpriced for what you get.Portions were small and the flavor was so so. I went expecting more than I got. Service was good and the ambiance was great but I won’t be going back again.
Never a bad experience here! I have been going here fir a decade now and I always walk away saying the was the best! Surf and turf it awesome
Had very nice lunch celebrating my daughter-in-law’s birthday. Staff was busy but everything that we needed was taken care of. Nice birthday dessert was appreciated.
First visit for my wife and I. Overall experience was mixed, but I'll round up to 4 stars. We were shoehorned into a very cozy (tiny) corner table; unfortunately right next to a larger table of extremely loud friends. Service was excellent; food was pretty good. We shared a bowl of lobster bisque - enjoyable, but we've had much better. I had the lobster rolls (2) with our waitress's recommendation - no regrets! My wife had the perch, and was fairly disappointed. Initially it came out underdone. She sent it back to get some additional time in the fryer, and it came back better, but still not what we've come to love in a perch dinner. I would give it another try, but might order more carefully.
I went for Lobster lovers month, the food, drink, and service were spectacular. Our waitress Kim was amazing! Only thing is they need a proper waiting area.
The food, in particular the shrimp & lobster stuffed salmon, was scrumptious. The portions were moderate, though not small. The waiter was great and our reservation was timely. We've been before and will come again.
Small and intimate but a little too tight for me... food and drinks are amazing... service is excellent
Typical bar food in a bar type of environment. Neither good or bad experience, just kinda 'meh'. The Surf & Turf deal was fine, but the quality of food was low. Steaks were very tough, mashed potatos were very dry. Lobster tail was very good, though, albeit tiny. The lobster bisque soup was very, very, bad. Thin, almost artificially sweet but also a bit of sour flavor to it...very odd.
Unless there's a compelling reason to return for dinner, I likely wont.
Meal was very good. The calamari portion was very small though. We were quoted a price of $1.00 for happy hour oysters, however we were charged $1.50. I let it go. The meal overall was delicious!
Incredible place! Been there multiple times already this year. Great food. Great service. I rated it a 4 out of 5 because it was CHILLY in the restaurant. I don't like having to eat with my coat on. Otherwise, nothing else was wrong whatsoever.
I absolutely enjoyed myself at Tom’s. The oysters were good and the food was amazing!! I look forward to coming back whenever I’m in town.
I had the lobster tacos, were a bit spicy but delicious. My husband had the lobster rolls and they were yummy! Small so you need to order two.
Had a great time celebrating Valentine's Day at Tom's Oyster Bar. Looking forwarding to our next visit. Food was delicious (had shrimp and grits) and the Tom Pale Ale was great! Would highly recommend for a date night or if you happen to be in the area and want good seafood.
Staff was friendly and courteous our server made sure our experience was worthwhile
Went for Valentine’s Day, it was amazing, the waitress was super nice, all around great time.
OMG!!! The best seafood ever!!! The price was amazing for what you got!!! We will be going back!!!
Dahylia our server was the best. Very informative and had the best personality. She was top notch!
Service was great! Prices
Our server Kim was very well versed in the menu and a pleasure to converse with. My girlfriend and I had a wonderful valentines date 👍🏼
