Tomo Ratings and Reviews
As usual the food was fabulous. Our waitress was probably the best we have had there. The restaurant is always a bit noisy but that’s because it’s busy. My favourite sushi place in town
We tsk a couple of friends who had not been there before, another Brit and his Malaysian wife. They loved it
My partner and I love this place!! Mei is a gracious host and we feel like family when we come. She is very pleasant and takes great pride in her job. The food is outstanding and doesn't compare to much in Atlanta, but her service is a great reason why we come back. Please visit if you are in town and do not be intimidated by the prices, everything is worth it.
This was my second time back at Tomo. The first was during a business lunch during which my colleagues and I sampled their lunch combo which was delicious. Ever since, I meant to take my wife there for dinner since we both love eating sushi during and are very particular about fresh fish and careful prep. Tomo did not disappoint with great dishes like the Usuzukuri appetizer, which featured a burst of ponzu flavored jelly on thinly sliced fluke, and the Japanese Snapper nigiri. The service was wonderful, and we had a caring waitress who took time explaining the dishes and made sure we tried the snapper without soy which would have messed with the flavor. At night time, the space turns nicely into a date spot and we look forward to our next night out there!
Tomo pipes-in horrible elevator music. The sushi was ok, but seemed just as uninspired and unoriginal as their terrible music app playing furniture store tunes in the background as you eat. If you are looking for good sushi and ambiance, try Umi, One Sushi, or Sushi House Hayakawa.
An absolutely unbelievable experience! We returned after visiting last year and were equally impressed and satisfied. Incredible sushi and sashimi, love beef, and a relaxed atmosphere. Although they were out of some selections, (to be expected when dealing with ultra fresh items), there was more than enough to choose from. No one visiting the Buckhead area should miss this experience.
Food was good. The raw nigiri/sashimi was incredible! My only regret was not ordering the nigiri/sashimi meals. Everything was so fresh! I had an appetizer and two rolls and they were good... but nothing I HAVE to have again, especially for the price I paid and the amount I got. However, if I'm spending the money, the seafood by itself should be the star of the show (and definitely well worth the money!!).
As usual, the food at Tomo was unparalleled. The fish is high quality and always very fresh. The drinks are goo and they have a few interesting beers that I have not seen at other Japanese restaurants in town. If I had any issue, it would be with the pacing of the meal. Our server was too attentive, if that is a thing. She brought dishes out too quickly and it made the experience feel slightly rushed. This would not deter me from going back as I go for the inventive tastes and fresh sushi. Great place overall and my wife and I enjoyed our anniversary dinner!
This was our first time at Tomo and we mainly went because we were given a gift certificate from a friend. We were amazed with the service & the food. Hands down - the best sushi we have had in Atlanta!! It's a very bright & airy space and at a great spot in Buckhead. Loved it and we definitely be back!
We had heard great reviews and supposedly the best Japanese restaurant in Atlanta according to the Atlanta magazine. We found the food very good, but tables are one on top of another. It is not a pleasant experience. Our table was almost in the lobby! We do not consider the restaurant fine dining for such high prices and such high reviews. Service is very casual and indifferent. We consider ourselves international foodies.
Furthermore, we feel that Open Table reservations are given terrible tables. It has happened with almost all of our Open Table reservations.
