The ambience is very nice. Service was excellent. Food was excellent.

Enjoyed the sushi nigiri and would go back. I would caution about sitting at the sushi bar though. 1) the sushi chef ignores you, doesn't acknowledge you exist and all orders go through the servers 2) the servers routinely lean over your shoulder to pick up orders, which it's very distracting. At one point my wife had to stop a servers long hair from brushing over her food. That said, the food was good and the staff cordial.

The waitress refused to speak to or engage with my company (who happnened to be a person of colour). She asked if we were ready for cocktails. I hadnt decided yet but he said he was. She acted like he never said a word to her and took off. She took our (she would only engage with me) order and never came back. After flagging her down she got our checks but refused to hand him the check book or take it from him. It was extremely embarrassing as I suggested this restaruant.
We had an amazing experience. The server was incredibly knowledgeable and always ready to make a suggestion. Her recommendations were on point!
Simply put, Tomo is awesome. We had an amazing meal from the tasting menu and our server, Mae, was phenomenal. We will be coming back for sure!

I might recommend the eel don to my friend but everything else only worth two stars. The service was poor. The waitress was on her phone and did not notice we needed her to order food.

No sea urchin. Sweet shrimps are old. Rush service. We were going to try/order Kobe beef and have a bottle of fine wine but due to this. We kind of change our mind.
Expensive, but at another level from your typical suburban sushi. A Japan-trained Japanese Sushi chef is always going to be better than a US trained Korean sushi chef.

Our original table was at the door and totally unsatisfactory. We were moved to a more appealing table in the center of the restaurant.
Our server was helpful and efficient.
The food was good, with the exception of the deserts. The “chocolate cube” is a joke. The mousse was mediocre and you were out of one of the desserts.
It was a family birthday party-announced at reserving of the table- and we were not offered the chance to order a cake or any special desert.
Everyone had a good time and our honored guest- who selected Tomo, enjoyed his evening.
I wish this place was better. The fish quality is good but not Umi or even Taka level. Everyone in there seems like they are going through the motions.
The sushi and Tempura was excellent, especially the high end sushi. The saki flights are a great idea for non-saki experts. Glad there were also beers on tap.
The service and attitude of the service was not up to what you would expect for the pricing or the first floor of the Ritz. Maybe just an off night??
It would be nice if there was a smaller steak dish that would allow some steak without committing to a large one for the meal.
Interior has not been maintained. Buttons missing from banquettes, mix matched flatware, broken bathroom handle, etc. Service was slow but friendly. Food was good but much too expensive for the ambiance.

Tomo is excellent. The food is superb, fresh, inventive and the service is wonderful.
There’s just one issue and that is the ambiance. The furnishing feels very dated, the house lights are too right. It could be that the ritz Carlton, of which this location is part, has a clientele that requires comfy chairs and bright lighting, but the ambiance felt too dated and too downmarket for gone prices and the restaurant itself. At one point there was smooth jazz playing in the background. The ambiance was poor enough that I can’t take out of town guests here. Umi’s decor is chic and glam despite the fact that the food is no better. If ambiance was fixed, the experience would be perfect.

Truly a disappointing dining experience. The hostess was beyond rude upon entering. The restaurant itself is quite dirty so it’s the last place you want eat sushi.

On a college tour w my high school son. This was the best sushi I ever had in my life!! I didn’t know what real sashimi sushi was until I tried the sample platter. Beyond delicious!!! I’d fly to Atlanta just to eat there!!!

Tomo is one of my favorite Restaurants. The food is amazing. It feels authentically Japanese. Cliff the manager always comes to say hello. The ambiance is also nice.
Horrible. I don’t know what was worse, the food or the (lack of) service. Most of the food was inedible. Sushi was fishy and slimy and the sever could care less. I won’t be going back- ever.

We were very disappointed in our dinner two nights ago at Tomo. The service was very good but the food did not seem to be the same quality that it used to be. All four people in our party felt the same way. I hope we were just there on an "off" night because we have enjoyed dining there for a number of years.

This is my second time dining at Tomo. The experience was terrible compare to the first time. The waitress was rude from the beginning to the end, the name on the check is Effie S. When ordering the food and drinks, she sounded annoyed and rolled her eyes couple times, which made us very uncomfortable. A waiter/waitress should never roll their eyes in front of the customer. She asked if we are done with our food when there were still plenty of food on the plate. She took away the soy sauce while we were still dining without asking if you still need it or not. The food was not as fresh as before. The whole experience was not good and I will probably never return.
This was a terrible dining experience. Our server was extremely rude and temperamental - myself and our dining partners did not feel at all welcomed here. The food was mediocre at best. The booth seats sunk to the floor and it made you feel like your table was at your chin. We were reseated, but that did not help with the unfriendly demeanor of our server. We decided to just order some appetizers and leave the restaurant. Overall, very disappointing. Would not even consider going there again.
