Tomo Ratings and Reviews
I had the Salmon plat and almost swallowed a bone... I sat in the dining area where I typically have always sat at the grills. I did feel sort of rushed as we were in and out in 30 minutes even with getting an appetizer. Our server was awesome and very respectful and the calamari was great.
Tomo was satisfactory. Waitress was helpful. Food was good. Ingredients seemed fresh. Seemed expensive but I have only been in Atlanta for a few months and have not been to many restaurants yet. I would go back if I was in the area and felt like sushi, just wouldn’t make a special trip.
Brought a vendor on Monday night for dinner. Service was great and the restaurant is in the heart of Buckhead area. We ordered Sea bass, Crispy pork belly and some appetizers . Fish was prepared in perfection (portion is on the small size) but pork was over cooked.
Overall we had a great experience and will be back to try other offers from the menu.
The sushi and sashimi at Tomo is always delicious! Using the freshest fish with innovative preparations is a winning combibation that always draws me back, time after time. The yellowtail with serano pepper is a must have, and my adventurous choice this time was the scallop. (It did not disappoint!) Unusual cocktails that pair well with the sushi are also a great draw, and the ambience is lively, yet intimate. Service is consistently good. In short, if you are looking for sushi, look no further...
One of the best sushi restaurants in Atlanta. Exquisite sushi, fresh and imported from Japan. Everything that you could wish for was presented in the Omakase by Chef Tomo. We loved every course and was delighted with the sushi he selected near the end of the meal. Omakase presentation was perfection, including edible flowers and delicious sauces. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Loved that Tomo has his own rules for eating sushi and they took away our chopsticks and never gave us soy sauce. Tomo puts it all on the sushi for you. We ate the sushi immediately as he presented it and we loved every minute of this experience. Highly recommend the Omakase at his table.
We ordered ~five different dishes and they were all off in a different way. Nothing really went together well flavor wise. We didn't like anything we had and regretted eating here. Service was ok. There were barely any customers, and some staff were standing around and talking.
Food is always good. I’ve had better but also much more often worse sushi. Service was strange. She would ask for our order and then pop over to the small bar area to tend to other patrons.
Anyway. I’ve been here several times and will definitely return. Food is good and great if you get the right thing. Prices are slightly high but not unreasonable given setting and fresh fish
Tomo has never failed. The food is impeccable. The service is great and fun. I have probably been 10-15 times in the last 4-5 years and it is always great. Every time we go someone at the table says "Why don't we come more often." There is always something new and interesting to go back for.
Went here for the first time over the weekend. We were greeted by a very nice hostess. She sat us almost right away but my complaint was the location. It was a romantic little table in the front, but right in front of the door. It was cold on Saturday night so we could feel the cold air. I wanted to get up and move but didn't know how long it would be to get another table. Other than that, the experience was wonderful. Our server, T, was a pleasure. She recommended a couple dishes, which were outstanding. We loved the decor of the restaurant, simple yet sophisticated. We will be back!
I have no issue what so ever with a business closing due to inclement weather. I DO have BIG issues with said business not notifying the folks who made reservations that they were closing. We drove 1.5 hours to have a special dinner out in the city, only to find a small sign on the door proclaiming they were closed due to weather. While there was snow on the grass, the roads were completely clean on that Saturday. There was major traffic in the area. The dining establishment we went to instead was FULL. No excuse Tomo. You had all necessary contact information for us from Open Table. Don't expect us back any time....
The food was fresh, healthy and somewhat edible, but it was uninspiring and lacked presentation. Some dishes were quite oily. It took too long to be served but it was not terrible. I wouldn't recommend simply because there is better Japanese in Atlanta for less money
Knowledgeable and attentive staff (you need that when not familiar with Sake or different types of sushi and sashimi). Personal attention given to us on a Saturday made it for a very memorable date night. Food was excellent, though they were out of some of the specialty Japanese fish because of the holiday. Modern decor and spacious seating made for a good ambiance.
We moved here from Las Vegas in February of 2017. We have been searching for an amazing sushi experience, but have not had any luck...until now. TOMO was a wonderful experience from the amazing sashimi and sushi created by the chef to the knowledgeable and friendly service. We got the Omekase and truly left it up to the chef. Each dish was beautifully presented and tasted even better. The quality was amazing as well. We highly recommend it.
