Our original table was at the door and totally unsatisfactory. We were moved to a more appealing table in the center of the restaurant.
Our server was helpful and efficient.
The food was good, with the exception of the deserts. The “chocolate cube” is a joke. The mousse was mediocre and you were out of one of the desserts.
It was a family birthday party-announced at reserving of the table- and we were not offered the chance to order a cake or any special desert.
Everyone had a good time and our honored guest- who selected Tomo, enjoyed his evening.
I wish this place was better. The fish quality is good but not Umi or even Taka level. Everyone in there seems like they are going through the motions.
The sushi and Tempura was excellent, especially the high end sushi. The saki flights are a great idea for non-saki experts. Glad there were also beers on tap.
The service and attitude of the service was not up to what you would expect for the pricing or the first floor of the Ritz. Maybe just an off night??
It would be nice if there was a smaller steak dish that would allow some steak without committing to a large one for the meal.
Interior has not been maintained. Buttons missing from banquettes, mix matched flatware, broken bathroom handle, etc. Service was slow but friendly. Food was good but much too expensive for the ambiance.
Greta food and experience . Top shelf service
Tomo is excellent. The food is superb, fresh, inventive and the service is wonderful.
There’s just one issue and that is the ambiance. The furnishing feels very dated, the house lights are too right. It could be that the ritz Carlton, of which this location is part, has a clientele that requires comfy chairs and bright lighting, but the ambiance felt too dated and too downmarket for gone prices and the restaurant itself. At one point there was smooth jazz playing in the background. The ambiance was poor enough that I can’t take out of town guests here. Umi’s decor is chic and glam despite the fact that the food is no better. If ambiance was fixed, the experience would be perfect.
Tomo is always excellent. The Best Sushi Restaurant in Atlanta!
Truly a disappointing dining experience. The hostess was beyond rude upon entering. The restaurant itself is quite dirty so it’s the last place you want eat sushi.
Best sushi in Atlanta!
On a college tour w my high school son. This was the best sushi I ever had in my life!! I didn’t know what real sashimi sushi was until I tried the sample platter. Beyond delicious!!! I’d fly to Atlanta just to eat there!!!
Outstanding as always!
Tomo is one of my favorite Restaurants. The food is amazing. It feels authentically Japanese. Cliff the manager always comes to say hello. The ambiance is also nice.
Horrible. I don’t know what was worse, the food or the (lack of) service. Most of the food was inedible. Sushi was fishy and slimy and the sever could care less. I won’t be going back- ever.
All around fantastic!
We were very disappointed in our dinner two nights ago at Tomo. The service was very good but the food did not seem to be the same quality that it used to be. All four people in our party felt the same way. I hope we were just there on an "off" night because we have enjoyed dining there for a number of years.
Good afternoon, this is Cliff from Tomo. Tuesday is usually a great day for us. Its our first delivery day from Japan. Do you remember what you had? I would like to take a look at it. Whenever you have problems or are not happy, ask for me. That or you can text/email me. Let me know how I can make it up to you. 404.707.7981 cliff@tomorestaurant. I don't make a big deal out of it, but I would like a chance to fix things. Thank you and let me know how I can help
This is my second time dining at Tomo. The experience was terrible compare to the first time. The waitress was rude from the beginning to the end, the name on the check is Effie S. When ordering the food and drinks, she sounded annoyed and rolled her eyes couple times, which made us very uncomfortable. A waiter/waitress should never roll their eyes in front of the customer. She asked if we are done with our food when there were still plenty of food on the plate. She took away the soy sauce while we were still dining without asking if you still need it or not. The food was not as fresh as before. The whole experience was not good and I will probably never return.
This was a terrible dining experience. Our server was extremely rude and temperamental - myself and our dining partners did not feel at all welcomed here. The food was mediocre at best. The booth seats sunk to the floor and it made you feel like your table was at your chin. We were reseated, but that did not help with the unfriendly demeanor of our server. We decided to just order some appetizers and leave the restaurant. Overall, very disappointing. Would not even consider going there again.
We live elsewhere but visit Atlanta often. It’s exciting to finding a very good Sushi experience in the heart of Buckhead.
Every trip to ATL, you’ll find me at Tomo. I’ve been going for 10 years and not once have I been disappointed. Each visit creates a memorable experience; the food is phenomenal and the service is personable - Mei has always served us, but she was on vacation this week so Taiye (sorry for any misspelling) took care of us.
Excellent dinner! Service was slower this time than last. However, we were here for my father-in-law’s birthday so the time spent between rounds of sushi were enjoyed. Great recommendations from our server. Definitely didn’t disappoint.
Great Sushi and good service. Ambiance was a little lacking though.
Top quality and fresh servings each and every time. The service was great and enjoyed the ambiance. Thank you for the detail you take in the presentation of setting the meals and beverages on the table.
Tomo makes everyday dining always a special occasion. The service is wonderful... just the right amount of attention and guidance. Food is delicate and creative. My favorite restaurant in Atlanta!
Special- high quality food and presentation.
Very enjoyable, great!
Had a memorable dinner with friends to celebrate my wife's birthday. Will return for sure!
Even though the ambiance is casual enough to visit daily, the menu and the experience is more special occasion. The seafood is outstanding. You definitely pay for it but it’s delicious, melt in your mouth, and everything is perfectly seasoned. Especially the specialties. Some of the sushi and rolls tasted average but the special dishes are divine.
Tomo is really great... Luv the food the chefs.. the atmosphere... we always dine in wonder of the freshest seafood sushi and nigiri in Atlanta... do save space for the most wonderful delicious desserts too!!
Food was good, a bit expensive for the amount of food received. Also ordered a cocktail that never came and had to end up cancelling it since I was finished with my food. Went to celebrate my bday and it was noted when reservation made, but the restaurant didn’t acknowledge that or did anything special at all.
Update, the general manager reached out to me personally to right the wrongs which was very surprising and actually quite impressive. Will probably return to the restaurant and give it another try at another occasion.
A wonderful time at Tomo! The service and food were exceptional as usual. Will continue to return.
Best sushi in Atlanta!
Our waitress’s name is Efi. Ask for her. She’s great
Very nice, but felt a bit rushed. Food came out real fast and was very good fresh sushi.
Best sushi in ATL. !!!
Went to Tomo for a nice dinner date. Some of the food items were amazing and some were very off (Gorgonzola roll). The restaurant was kind of empty, I think because it’s a more popular business lunch spot than evening dinner.
Having lived in NYC for a few years and experienced some of the better sushi there (Azabu, Nakazawa), I'd say the quality here at Tomo was pretty good and compared fairly well. The restaurant is in a hotel and the ambiance reflects that. I made the mistake of coming here to celebrate a birthday with my wife, and it just isn't a date night type of place - more appropriate for business dinners, hotel guests. The manager sitting at the sushi bar working on his laptop didn't help the atmosphere much either.
Food was great and the server was attentive. I even appreciate the chefs saying hi and pet to patrons. This is my new favorite sushi in Atlanta.
Whenever we get the opportunity to stay in Atlanta we make sure to visit May at Tomo. She takes care of all of our needs. We put everything in her hands and the food arrives beautifully displayed and equally delicious. Great experience!
Food was superb ! Yumi, our server was amazing. Best dining experience I’ve had in a while
