Amazing food, amazing staff. Laura Lee and Coco were great.
Delicious food, excellent service, romantic ambiance. Will definitely be coming back again!
Host sat my family of 4. Waitress shows up 15 minutes later stating she’ll start by serving water to help waiter that will will be talking care of us. We stated we prefer bottle
Food was great, but service was not up to standard. Service was very slow, multiple requested items were forgotten, and our dessert order was completely wrong. Our server did not know how to open a bottle of wine and did not refill our wine glasses once. We had to fill them ourselves, which is unacceptable at this type of establishment.
Waiter got bogged down after 7-7:30. There day after a wedding at Southern Oaks.
Lovely atmosphere as well as excellent service and great food. Definitely would recommend it.
We were on vacation and Time he came highly recommended. The food was good the service was great and the atmosphere is something you’d imagine in New Orleans. I loved everything about this place.
Food, service, and ambience outstanding. Best turtle soup ever.
Was there over 2 hours. Watched tables come in after us and leave before us. Waitress not only forgot to put our appetizers in then forgot to put our food in. Finally grabbed one of the cooks and got our food which was cold. IRENES>tommys
Delicious Food and Wine. Friendly staff and patrons. We had an amazing experience.
Great great good. Wonderful service. Desserts & appetizers were perfect.
My third time there. Every time it has been delicious and service was incredible. We will be back!
Love this old school Italian restaurant! It is a perfect dinner spot for a Sunday in New Orleans after lots of rich cajun food. Really enjoyed the meatballs and veal piccata. The bread pudding was 5 star. Hope I can make it back next trip- great cozy spot to relax! 🍷
Great food and great wine list with amazing prices. Our little ones loved it and the service was excellent. Perfect place for an Italian family dinner.
Granted it’s a pandemic but they were very understaffed for the tables seated. That said our server was very kind and did his best to keep up. All entrees for our group of 6 were super salty which totally ruined the flavor. One of our party members got sick later that evening so figure the salt was covering up bad seafood. Twisted bread was great and wine was reasonably priced (1/2 off) so they had that going for them. Very disappointed as this place came highly recommended. Hope they right the ship.
Food was sub par and overpriced. Service took forever. Hostess was incompetent, and we had to problem solve the table situation for her. We had to pour our own wine, which I always feel weird about doing at a restaurant, but we would have been staring at the bottle all night otherwise.
Tommy’s was slow and disorganized. 6:45pm reservation. Out of garlic pull apart bread. Requested regular bread for table…..”out of butter”. Frustrating experience.
Many other places to enjoy in New Orleans. Think twice before booking this place.
Great service! Food delicious
I’ve had some wonderful meals here in the past, but last night was an entirely different experience. There were some snafus with timeliness and service that I assume could be COVID related, which is understandable. For example, our reservation was at 7:15 and we weren’t seated until 7:45. Despite ordering soon after we sat down, we did not receive our entrees until 9pm. When they did arrive, they brought me the wrong meal (which happened to be something I could not eat due to an allergy issue). I was able to eat the broccoli on the plate and, while doing so, discovered a rubber band in the food. The server was nice and comped the entree dish. I did not order another meal, as it was already very late. My dining companion had the chicken Alfredo and said it was not great- chicken was heavily breaded and not much sauce, making for a dry meal. The burrrata caprese salad and crème brule were shining stars of the night. Overall, not up to par for Tommy’s.
Food was average, the service was extremely poor, took over an hour to get served and the restaurant wasn’t busy, wouldn’t recommend
Food was good and helpings were very generous. Our waiter was outstanding considering he had 3 large tables to serve by himself. It was noisy- had 3 large tables in one little space, but we had a great experience.
Not a good experience. Cold angel hair pasta over poorly cooked veal. Service was great at the beginning and we were totally ignored. Will not go back.
Thank you so much for joining us on Christmas Day. We truly value your feedback. I will bring it to our chef's attention. Happy new year! General Manager Avni Ozborcek
Everything from the food, service, and environment was exceptional.
Open Table you should be ashamed to have this establishment listed on your site. After 3 1/2 hours of waiting for our food, we left and will never return. To the general manager that thought 3 1/2 hours was acceptable and we should feel privilege to be sitting at the table, our family of 6 had no problem leaving as we were wick to our stomach after the way we were spoken to. Additionally, to be told to never return, don’t you worry, we won’t, and from the look of empty tables on Christmas Eve, I can only imagine people already choose not to return. I wish someone would have warned us that the poor management is the direct result of this failing business.
My daughter’s 13th birthday
Tommy's is a very nice restaurant, but the staff makes you feel right at home! The food is absolutely fantastic!!!
We came for a Reveillon meal and food was very good. Shrimp w remoulade was our favorite.
I've not been to Tommy's for several years since we are visiting family in New Orleans. On previous visits to Tommy's (usually several times a year, plus gift cards for other family members) we always had reliable, excellent service provided by servers who seemed to have many years of experience. The server staff last night seemed to be somewhat inexperienced and I assume that the extremely slow food delivery was the fault of the kitchen. We had to ask for more bread after waiting with an empty breadbasket for a long time; we had to ask for grated cheese for our pasta dishes, and not once do I recall our server coming to check on our table to see if we needed anything. The saving grace was that the food was well-prepared* and tasty. (*Our second serving of bread was actually cold in the center; my black drum fish entree was tough in the center and inedible; everyone else's food was excellent.) The appetizers were especially delicious. The biggest drawback to the dinner was the extremely long time between courses. Several times we asked when the next course was coming and the server told us twice that the food was coming soon. It didn't. As a result, the dinner took about an hour longer than it should. And the dining room was only about half-filled, so I don't understand why the service was so slow. Given the overall QUALITY of the food, I could certainly recommend to a friend. However, given the extremely slow service, I would not recommend it to a friend unless they wouldn't mind a very slow dining experience.
Food wasn’t as good as previously experienced.
Excellent food but lousy, slow service. Waiter disappeared for a while. Drinks very slow to get to the table.
Absolutely delicious meal! I can't say why I haven't come here before, but I'll be back!
We had a great dining experience. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. They have an extensive wine list and we enjoyed a bottle with our appetizers and dinner. Would go back again when in New Orleans!
Excellent service and even better food. I just arrived from California on business here in New Orleans and am a big fan of all the Creole Cuisine portfolio of restaurants and was delighted Tommy’s was next to my hotel by the convention center. I especially loved the Reveillon experience. This was a beautiful setting that was both quiet and warm with the wood paneled walls. It’s was everything I expect of a Creole Cuisine Property. Highly recommend this restaurant.
We arrived early for our reservation and were encouraged to wait at the bar. We would have loved a glass of wine. The bartender asked us several times to move over here or move over there which we respectfully did. She never once offered a wine menu or greeted us. We told her we’d like to order a glass of wine and she eventually left the bar and never came back. We were then seated in a private room for our party of 14. Our waiter had a wonderful personality and the food was delicious, but the service was unforgivably slow. We waited for 30 or 40 minutes between drinks and ordering our food so we didn’t bother with appetizers- we were too hungry. We ordered our entrees and two of them were forgotten about. We were never offered to order more wine and we filled our own glasses throughout dinner. It was a birthday celebration for my twin sister and me. The whole experience took so long and was such a disappointment, we left without dessert.
I'm a long-time diner of Irene's and then Tommy's. Had not been since Tommy's was bought out. Big disappointment - service was very poor in numerous ways, but the main culprit is likely lack of training from management. It's not like the old Tommy's which was like Irene's. No charm, poor service, dishes heavy-handed. We brought out of town guests here and the entire party of 4 was disappointed. Will not be returning.
Delicious food, attentive service. Very nice for special occasions!
Unfortunately it wasn’t a very positive experience…1st no one bothered to check our Covid card which is against the law; 2nd we were there for a special date night and asked for a quiet spot (when I made reservation) they had everyone shoved in the front room; zero social distancing and we sat next to “Elizabeth”. Elizabeth is 3 and climbed tables the entire dinner…it was awful. We just wanted a quiet romantic evening.3. Service was awful(Nick)….no recommendations on wine after we asked; didn’t know and there was no one to ask….couldn’t the bartender have helped; he didn’t know the price fix menu; was by himself zero help - lots of runners but water was never filled; poured our own wine; the women in all black (chefs uniform) could have been helping but needed another waiter on the floor… our apps came out with salads no check in after they were dropped….never brought us more bread; never got a real knife to cut my duck. It wasn’t worth $150 and as a new transplant to New Orleans I was hoping to have found my local Italian goto place- I didn’t. I tried to speak with the manager afterwards but it didn’t happen. I won’t go back, and don’t recommend. We go out once a month, as teachers we don’t have $150 to drop on poor service, horrible atmosphere and ok food. Just really disappointed.
Always solid! One of my favorite places. Eggplant Napoleon and the Capri fish are dynamite. Wine prices are great. Poor waitress had the whole room to herself. Not her fault though.
