Tommy V's Urban Kitchen and Bar Scottsdale
We chose this restaurant to celebrate a surprise engagement that happened yesterday in Tucson. Unfortunately, Tommy Vs did not exceed our expectations. There should have been more of a celebration.
The food was very good and the restaurant was very nice. Our sever was the reason I would not recommend. She was not personal, was not attentive to the table, didn’t make recommendations and even spilt creamer on us when serving coffee.
Awesome once again! Excellent food and excellent service. Highly recommend!
Nick was an excellent server, he made us feel very welcome and made a great wine recommendation. We loved the ambiance and the lighting. The hostess was wonderful as well. My grandma enjoyed the spinach gnocci very much. The sea bass was cooked perfectly but was bland.
We were a group of 8 women and not one complaint about the food. Our server, whose name I can’t remember, was fabulous. He even gave us 8 separate checks and got us out on time for our show at Scottsdale Performing Arts. This is my go to restaurant before the theater.
Everything we've ever ordered here has always been outstanding. This time, the lobster bisque was perfect. The Pork Osso Busso was very good. And the Chicken Parmesan was way above average (not to mention that the portion was huge). And the service is always friendly and prompt. We prefer to sit in the large room where the bar is, as it is livelier than the small room in the back. But it is a bit noisier, so if you prefer a quiet dining experience, you can request the back room.
Tommy V's is by far one of the finest restaurants in the area. The food preparations are outstanding, the portions are more than generous , the staff is very professional and the prices for the food and wine are reasonable.
Overall this was a good experience. The restaurant is beautiful and we enjoyed the corner table by the windows. The other couple raved about their food and are eager to return. We will also return but we were not as excited about the food. The lobster ravioli was slightly disappointing. The sauce was good, but the ravioli mostly tasted of filling, not much lobster taste. Blue crab ravioli was better and spinach gnocchi was a highlight. Waiter was very helpful and steered us to a wonderful Malbec.
Great food and service. One our favorites
Took my husband to my new favorite Italian restaurant knowing he would love the lasagna. Now his new favorite too. The limoncello martini is amazing as is the limoncello sorbet. Tried the pasta trio this time. All three ravioli were great but the butter nut squash was my favorite. Have to eat here every time am in area. Service always excellent
We dined at Tommy V’s for the first time on a Wednesday with 2 visiting couples and were very pleasantly surprised. The menu and specials were very interesting and the end product was well presented and delicious. The room is understated and hospitable. Our meal was assisted by a very competent, professional, knowledgeable and personable waiter. We couldn’t have been more pleased and have already booked a return reservation.
We would personally not go back. The food was pretty good, but it was strange being seated in a separate part of the restaurant away from the main dining room, even though we had reservations. Our table was facing the doors of the kitchen with no one else being seated in that section of the restaurant, for the entire time we were there. Perhaps the main dining room was reserved for locals, but maybe the owner can provide a better explanation if reading this review. When we requested our leftovers to be packed to go, we were given someone else's leftover caesar salad instead of our entree. Other than this strange experience, all the other restaurants we dined at in both Phoenix and Scottsdale, Arizona were great!
We happened upon this by accident as the place we were headed to was closed. Food and drink was very good. I had wanted to pay for the wine bill and had discretely told the waiter but he forgot and gave t total bill to our friend. I was very unhappy about this. But overall place was great and I will return!
It was fine. The bolanaise was very good. The rest was ok. Tommy V’s really ought to get some good olive oil to go with the excellent bread.
Service is consistently good. Would like a better selection of wines by the glass
The staff was friendly ,and the food was amazing. Tommy V's kitchen is truly a hidden gem in Scottsdale. Would recommend to anyone :)
We appreciate the Christmas dinner at Tommy V’s every year.
Overall a nice experience (came for Christmas Day dinner). They seemed very short staffed which is probably to be expected given the time of year, however, service was definitely slow.
It would have been nice if they had made it more clear on their website that they were only serving their special holiday menu. We were not aware of this when we made our reservation and were looking forward to some of the regular items on the menu.
Food was okay, but not great given the high a la carte prices. Would recommend but maybe not during a holiday.
We had a fabulous family dinner on Christmas (we're Jewish, my sister's birthday is on Christmas, and we were thrilled that Tommy V's was open, and offered a reasonably priced fixed price 3 course dinner with a lovely variety from which to choose). Ambience and service were excellent and the food was delicious. Can't wait to go back!
We went to this restaurant on Christmas Day because it was one of the few open and the price for a 3 course meal was $49. Starter - risotto - was basically tasteless. Short rib was ok, the accompanying 6 pieces of gnocchi were bland. Chocolate mousse cake was delish. Service was fast - get ‘em in, get ‘em out - and the noise level was 10+. The staff seemed frenzied. It was not a relaxing atmosphere. Just can’t get around to accepting a $100 price tag for the meal and paying $30+ for a bottom shelf bottle of wine.
I would recommend yes but we were there celebrating our anniversary and were very rushed. We just got our drinks then the appetizers came. Didn’t even finish it then salad was there and he said our entree was out shortly. Was not a nice dinner because of rushed service
We sat at the bar . The bartender was Jacob. Jacob was friendly, professional, and attentive. We started with meatball appetizer - Delicious !! Followed by the prawns wrapped in bacon- wonderful
The entree was Lasagna which we split- plenty of food . Perfectly prepared. It’s one of our go to places. We will be back soon.
We were very pleased with the hospitality shown us on our 48th wedding anniversary. We may be back for our 49th!
Awesome service, delicious food!
Excellent food and service. May be a new favorite!
Seated on time and pleasant hostess. Waiter not attentive to group and requested his own order of taking orders. Failed to ask about meals served and everyone but one person served salads or starts which was not appropriate having to wait. Food quality inconsistent with everyone ordering something different.
No Oregon Pinot Noirs in wine list which was disappointing. Bread was good but lack of attention to large group a disappointment. Most likely would not recommend.
Friends from out of town we’re impressed with the food and service.
We began with the mussels marinara appetizer, which was very good. The portion size of my entree, seafood risotto, was quite large; there was enough left over for a small meal the next day. My companion had the gnocchi with a cream sauce which seemed a bit bland. Large wine list with many pricing options.
We have found that restaurant is consistently good, great prices good service and very good dishes. I hate to say it, but we are foodies and know a good restaurant. This is not a Binkley's, thank goodness, but it is just what we like when we don't want super fancey.
I had not eaten at Tommy V's for about 2 yrs. Our experience was excellent! The food was served hot and masterfully prepared, the service was excellent and the price of each entrée was certainly reasonable and well worth the money.
I ordered Mahi Mahi over risotto which was served hot, very tastefully prepared and presented. I would order that entrée again.
If you want a great Italian meal at a reasonable price and delicious, I highly recommend Tommy V's!!
Always a great meal, great ambience and super energy. That said the food is what keeps us coming back
Always delicious food with a great menu and high value.
Great food, friendly staff will definitely come back.
$49 bucks a plate. Food worth about $12. I could not hear the person sitting next to me. Metal ceiling and cement floor made it sound like everyone was yelling. We had to yell for the people at the table to hear us. So, did everyone else at their tables. Need to sound proof ceiling. We had three waiters, none of which came to our table. Did not get service until it was time to pay bill.
Nice restaurant, great waitstaff, attentive, respectful and friendly. Ambiance cozy, light and airy, nice sunlight. Will be back to taste the regular menu.
We had a great experience. Food was delicious. Good wine list and service was very good.
We've driven by this restaurant for years. I looked on Yelp for suggestions and found this place had good reviews, so I decided to give it a try. We had reservations for a party of 8. We were seated promptly and everyone was very nice. The service was great. Each person had something different from steak to chicken to seafood and all commented on how delicious everything was. I'm glad we decided to give it a try!
Great service, great people, great food. 10/10 recommend.
Recommend food and value but very loud and service was very slow evening we were there. This was particularly annoying since we could barely communicate over noise.
Love this place! The eggplant torta is one of the best variations of eggplant parmigiana you’ll find anywhere. The food here is constantly delicious; the service always spot on . You can’t beat the happy hour menu!
