Tommy V's Urban Kitchen and Bar Scottsdale
We began with the mussels marinara appetizer, which was very good. The portion size of my entree, seafood risotto, was quite large; there was enough left over for a small meal the next day. My companion had the gnocchi with a cream sauce which seemed a bit bland. Large wine list with many pricing options.
We have found that restaurant is consistently good, great prices good service and very good dishes. I hate to say it, but we are foodies and know a good restaurant. This is not a Binkley's, thank goodness, but it is just what we like when we don't want super fancey.
I had not eaten at Tommy V's for about 2 yrs. Our experience was excellent! The food was served hot and masterfully prepared, the service was excellent and the price of each entrée was certainly reasonable and well worth the money.
I ordered Mahi Mahi over risotto which was served hot, very tastefully prepared and presented. I would order that entrée again.
If you want a great Italian meal at a reasonable price and delicious, I highly recommend Tommy V's!!
Always a great meal, great ambience and super energy. That said the food is what keeps us coming back
Always delicious food with a great menu and high value.
Great food, friendly staff will definitely come back.
$49 bucks a plate. Food worth about $12. I could not hear the person sitting next to me. Metal ceiling and cement floor made it sound like everyone was yelling. We had to yell for the people at the table to hear us. So, did everyone else at their tables. Need to sound proof ceiling. We had three waiters, none of which came to our table. Did not get service until it was time to pay bill.
Nice restaurant, great waitstaff, attentive, respectful and friendly. Ambiance cozy, light and airy, nice sunlight. Will be back to taste the regular menu.
We had a great experience. Food was delicious. Good wine list and service was very good.
We've driven by this restaurant for years. I looked on Yelp for suggestions and found this place had good reviews, so I decided to give it a try. We had reservations for a party of 8. We were seated promptly and everyone was very nice. The service was great. Each person had something different from steak to chicken to seafood and all commented on how delicious everything was. I'm glad we decided to give it a try!
Great service, great people, great food. 10/10 recommend.
Recommend food and value but very loud and service was very slow evening we were there. This was particularly annoying since we could barely communicate over noise.
Love this place! The eggplant torta is one of the best variations of eggplant parmigiana you’ll find anywhere. The food here is constantly delicious; the service always spot on . You can’t beat the happy hour menu!
I have been to this restaurant a few times during business trips to Scottsdale. I have never been disappointed. Great food drinks and service. A very good value. Try it.
We visited on a very Slow Monday night. Food and service were wonderful
Great Value! Not pretentious. Good atmosphere. Been there many times and not been dissapointed.
Tommy V’s is simply outstanding overall! Its management is gracious and accommodating and its wait staff is spot on. Did I forget to mention the food? Well it too is absolutely delicious - from its burrata and pesto appetizer to its strawberry salad to its fresh fish and house made pasta and sauce! We’ve dined here many times and each time is better than the previous one. Try this fine restaurant out and you’ll agree that it is one of Scottsdale’s best!
Consistently terrific food and service!
not impressed, we celebrated our 35th anniversary at tommy Vs but wish I would have went somewhere else. The service was VERY slow they couldn't find our reservation even when tell them the name and the time the food was just ok. No music on the patio makes for boring ambiance. I would skip it.
We arrived and asked if we could sit on the patio. We received a very positive of course. The entire staff was lovely and everyone went out of the way to be sure our experience was perfect.
We have eaten there over 10 times but this time was the best ever. The bruschetta was flavorful, the house and Caesar salads were cold and crisp and the three pasta dishes were perfect! We have always considered it above average but it just jumped to the top of our list. We will be back in December.
Lovely- very pleasant staff (polite and lnowlegable), great food, relaxing place to eat.
The pasta pomodoro was the best we’ve had since visiting Tuscany.
We always enjoy this restaurant. The Italian food is great. Wonderful pasta. One of our favorites.
Wonderful place to eat.
Meh...our server although very attentive did not speak English well and beginning w/ drink order seemed confused. My husband ordered the ribeye medium and it came out purple when sent back it was returned charred and still medium rare. No one addressed it or apologized.
We always enjoy Tommy Vs.
Tommy V's - The perfect place to go in Old Town Scottsdale if you're looking for 1st class Italian food, unpretentious and comfortable surroundings and good value. It's particularly convenient for pre-theater dining or a late lunch. The broiled calamari in a very special red sauce is not to be missed. The crab cake small plate is nothing short of wonderful. the salads are terrific and the entrees are varied and will appeal to everyone. There is a full bar and an extraordinary wine list. My only criticism, and not a big deal though, is that the servers tend to be a bit too familiar, not addressing us with dignity, A little work on professionalism would be helpful.
We had the best service and delicious food. The Caesar salad was perfect. The steak and lamb chops were prepared to our liking. I would definitely return.
Great service and great food in a relaxing atmosphere.
We had a great evening! Loved the ambiance, good service, wine and food!
Everything was excellent! Will be back again and again!
We always have an excellent experience dining experience at Eddie V’s!!!
Food was hit or miss, some dishes were amazing some where really not. Service was fantastic.
We have been here many times and have never been disappointed. We had the grilled pork chop and the special Strozzapreti Short Rib Ragu. They were both delicious and we topped this off with cheesecake that was to die for! We will try to remember our seat area the next time we come.
Started off with waiter walking up to our table and asking for drink orders without introducing himself or simply saying hi. Caesar salad was over dressed, fish was over cooked and too much garlic, we had steak (undercooked) and lambs chops (sent back to be cooked longer, still under cooked). Waited 15-20 minutes for serve to come clear plates despite him standing nearby, had to ask for check. A very disappointing experience overall.
The food was really good, but the reason I would give this place 1 star is because of our bill. Our server added a $40 bottle of wine to our bill, when we only ordered 3 glasses of wine, the wines costing each $8 and $9 a glass. When I brought it to his attn he said I probably did it on accident, but never apologized for it. Makes you wonder, how many people have just paid their bill without even looking at it. From our servers reaction, it didn’t seem like this was the first time this “accident” had happened. I should have called him manager and let them know.
Very few diners when we were there. Waiter was very attentive, best part of our dinner experience. Fought with a fly the whole time we were there. Food was disappointing but abundant.
Good but chicken parm had little taste and should have been thinner
Service was disorganized. Waiter had no idea when people were sat at his tables. He took ten minutes to get to me and take my drink order because he was too busy helping tables who arrived after me. The amount of interruptions asking how things were going was super annoying. Once it was less than 10 seconds between people interrupting my meal to ask me that. And they got down in my face too....no sense of personal space. Besides, I mean really, who’s going to cause a scene and tell you how they really feel? Especially in the middle of a crowded restaurant with zero privacy.
Food: the bacon wrapped shrimp were really good. The Mixed Grill was bland and uninspired. The dish was not cohesive and felt like three proteins crammed together for the hell of it. The sausage was just an average mild breakfast sausage and was a bit dry. The chicken was a travesty. Not only was it dry and rubbery, it was hard charred as well. Tasted like an old piece of chicken was left too long in a George Foreman. The lamb was good but there was no sauce to go with it. Underneath the dish was some kind of balsamic reduction that was entirely too acidic to pair well with the lamb. The vegetables mixed with the dish were cooked just right but could have benefited from some seasoning.
Overall I feel like this place could have some nice dishes as I see potential but I’d have to be bored with the rest of restaurants around here before I went back to Tommy V’s.
