not impressed, we celebrated our 35th anniversary at tommy Vs but wish I would have went somewhere else. The service was VERY slow they couldn't find our reservation even when tell them the name and the time the food was just ok. No music on the patio makes for boring ambiance. I would skip it.
We arrived and asked if we could sit on the patio. We received a very positive of course. The entire staff was lovely and everyone went out of the way to be sure our experience was perfect.
We have eaten there over 10 times but this time was the best ever. The bruschetta was flavorful, the house and Caesar salads were cold and crisp and the three pasta dishes were perfect! We have always considered it above average but it just jumped to the top of our list. We will be back in December.
Lovely- very pleasant staff (polite and lnowlegable), great food, relaxing place to eat.
The pasta pomodoro was the best we’ve had since visiting Tuscany.
We always enjoy this restaurant. The Italian food is great. Wonderful pasta. One of our favorites.
Wonderful place to eat.
Meh...our server although very attentive did not speak English well and beginning w/ drink order seemed confused. My husband ordered the ribeye medium and it came out purple when sent back it was returned charred and still medium rare. No one addressed it or apologized.
We always enjoy Tommy Vs.
Tommy V's - The perfect place to go in Old Town Scottsdale if you're looking for 1st class Italian food, unpretentious and comfortable surroundings and good value. It's particularly convenient for pre-theater dining or a late lunch. The broiled calamari in a very special red sauce is not to be missed. The crab cake small plate is nothing short of wonderful. the salads are terrific and the entrees are varied and will appeal to everyone. There is a full bar and an extraordinary wine list. My only criticism, and not a big deal though, is that the servers tend to be a bit too familiar, not addressing us with dignity, A little work on professionalism would be helpful.
We had the best service and delicious food. The Caesar salad was perfect. The steak and lamb chops were prepared to our liking. I would definitely return.
Great service and great food in a relaxing atmosphere.
We had a great evening! Loved the ambiance, good service, wine and food!
Everything was excellent! Will be back again and again!
We always have an excellent experience dining experience at Eddie V’s!!!
Food was hit or miss, some dishes were amazing some where really not. Service was fantastic.
We have been here many times and have never been disappointed. We had the grilled pork chop and the special Strozzapreti Short Rib Ragu. They were both delicious and we topped this off with cheesecake that was to die for! We will try to remember our seat area the next time we come.
Started off with waiter walking up to our table and asking for drink orders without introducing himself or simply saying hi. Caesar salad was over dressed, fish was over cooked and too much garlic, we had steak (undercooked) and lambs chops (sent back to be cooked longer, still under cooked). Waited 15-20 minutes for serve to come clear plates despite him standing nearby, had to ask for check. A very disappointing experience overall.
The food was really good, but the reason I would give this place 1 star is because of our bill. Our server added a $40 bottle of wine to our bill, when we only ordered 3 glasses of wine, the wines costing each $8 and $9 a glass. When I brought it to his attn he said I probably did it on accident, but never apologized for it. Makes you wonder, how many people have just paid their bill without even looking at it. From our servers reaction, it didn’t seem like this was the first time this “accident” had happened. I should have called him manager and let them know.
Very few diners when we were there. Waiter was very attentive, best part of our dinner experience. Fought with a fly the whole time we were there. Food was disappointing but abundant.
Good but chicken parm had little taste and should have been thinner
Service was disorganized. Waiter had no idea when people were sat at his tables. He took ten minutes to get to me and take my drink order because he was too busy helping tables who arrived after me. The amount of interruptions asking how things were going was super annoying. Once it was less than 10 seconds between people interrupting my meal to ask me that. And they got down in my face too....no sense of personal space. Besides, I mean really, who’s going to cause a scene and tell you how they really feel? Especially in the middle of a crowded restaurant with zero privacy.
Food: the bacon wrapped shrimp were really good. The Mixed Grill was bland and uninspired. The dish was not cohesive and felt like three proteins crammed together for the hell of it. The sausage was just an average mild breakfast sausage and was a bit dry. The chicken was a travesty. Not only was it dry and rubbery, it was hard charred as well. Tasted like an old piece of chicken was left too long in a George Foreman. The lamb was good but there was no sauce to go with it. Underneath the dish was some kind of balsamic reduction that was entirely too acidic to pair well with the lamb. The vegetables mixed with the dish were cooked just right but could have benefited from some seasoning.
Overall I feel like this place could have some nice dishes as I see potential but I’d have to be bored with the rest of restaurants around here before I went back to Tommy V’s.
Our first time here. The service was awesome.
We had started our meal with Arancini and potatoe soup - the flavors were great
We then had eggplant invinito with spinach gnocchi and 3 meat lasagna both were so flavorful and spot on
Would recommend this restaurant!!
Sadly, I just had my first poor experience at Tommy V's, a place where I've eaten many wonderful meals.
On Monday night for a business meal, the lamb was raw inside and had to be reheated, the chef's veggies were bland and I had to ask the waiter for some kind of sauce to add some flavor. My hosts salmon was very dry. The waiter, while nice enough, kept interrupting our conversation to ask questions. Hopefully this was just an off night, because as mentioned earlier, I have had many great meals here.
One of our favorites for fine dining- huge portions - best lasagna - be sure and ask for Nick - long time server
Our server wasn’t very good and our food was just ok.
Awesome flavor. I had the fettuccine carbonara. My wife had the sausage & pepper risotto.
We were in town for the Eric Clapton concer. Next time we are in Scottsdale, we will make it a point to go back to Tommy V’s.
I don’t recall the waiter’s name, but was friendly and knowledgeable.
Food was expertly prepared, I asked for a special dish not on the menu and it was excellent!!! This place is a hidden gem....
Great Service, very attentive and great food
DELICIOUS food - gnocchi was pretty plain but everything else on the menu spectacular. Just doesn’t have enough reviews, which is why we’re hesitant to try in the first place but SO happy we did!
Once again excellent service and food! Been there many times and is always an excellent dining experience!
Great food, very good service. Would go back! Went there to celebrate a birthday with a group. Table was ready when we arrived.
It’s always awesome here.
Had the special. It was outstanding... best seafood risotto ever!
The food was excellent and the service was great! I would definitely recommend .
Everything was perfect Can’t wait to return. Highly recommend
It was our first time at TV and we enjoyed it. Sara was our server and she was great. Drinks were great, was a little disappointed in the zucchini blossom appetizer, as it was too much batter in the deep fryer. Am used a simple fry and stuffed with cheese. Dinner was wonderful for both of us---too filled up to try a dessert, but will be back and have it next time.
The food was delicious! Great place, we’ll be back.
Delicious food and wines! Will be back!
We had a 6:30 reservation on a Saturday and were seated promptly. They placed bread and water on the table before we could even ask. Our server was very efficient and took time to explain the specials. My wife ordered the tagliatelle with Bolognese sauce along with a Caesars salad. I had the bruschetta appetizer and then the chicken parm. My wife enjoyed her salad and the tagliatelle but didn’t think the sauce was anything special. The bruschetta was outstanding as was the chicken. The piece was gigantic so obviously a double breast. A nice marinara and a side of linguini which I hardly touched and ended up taking home. We were too stuffed for desert so maybe next time. Overall a good experience and we will definitely return. As a side note as the place fills the noise level rises quite a bit so be prepared.
