Tommy Bahama Restaurant & Bar - Waikiki, HI
Had reservation but still had a 20 minute wait for bar seating even though reserved standard seating. Noisy area. Once seated another 15 minutes for water with an expectation of a decision on entrees. It was a weeknight. Food was good. Go in ready for a wait with a bottle water and you'll be ok. Server, once available, was pretty good.
Probably the best food I had in Waikiki. The appetizers were beyond excellent!
Great food and service.
Love this place. It always has outstanding service, awesome food and cocktails! The rooftop is the place to be, especially for Happy Hour! We come here every year when visiting Waikiki. Don’t pass this place up!
Excellent food and service. A bit pricey, but it is Hawaii and the food was on par for the cost. Would definitely recommend.
Good food with great service.
Great food great service. Definitely will be returning!
The environment was very nice, took my wife there for our 12th Anniversary and sat on the roof deck. It was a little windy, so women, if you have long hair, bring a hair tie. My wife didn't have one and will know to bring one on our next visit. The waiter was really attentive and social. I highly recommend Tommy Bahama's if you want a nice, but laid back environment.
Food, service were very good . Even at the terrace level it was little noisy. The Mai Tai were not the best I had . Mostly dark rum a no taste of tropical juice. Presentation was also very ordinary. The mahi-mahi Ruben sandwich was exceptional and worth going back for.
After making a reservation 3 weeks ago when there we many slots available, we arrived before our reservation time and still had to wait 15 minutes. Then we were seated in the worst table in the restaurant, way in the back next to the kitchen. The maitre d sort of corrected for this but we still had a mediocre table. The food was great but it was a forgettable experience. And I was even in full Tommy wear. You guys could have done much better.
Nothing special. Good food good service
Had a reservation for 7 pm. Arrived about 15 minutes early so we were happy to wait but hostess sat us right on top of singer in bar area. There shouldn’t even be a table that close to the performers. Way too loud to talk & on high uncomfortable bar stools..unless u are in your 20’s or 30’s but we didn’t like those kind of chairs even then. They did move us to a quieter better table, which was good otherwise we would have left. Upper level was closed cuz it was cold (ha) for Hawaii that day so I guess short on tables. Waiter was good but her assistant was very slow bringing back our second beers. Food was ok but nothing outstanding. Hot bread was yummy.
Excellent service from hostess to waitress. We been wanting to be seated at the fireplace but it was raining that night. Live is music is very relaxing. Will definitely visit this place again.
My wife and daughter both ordered fish. Both were very good. I had duck, which was marginal. Would tell a friend to avoid it. Otherwise the experience was very nice. We sat on the roof, Weather permitting, would recommend it. Staff was very professional and friendly.
Loved the ambiance. Food and drinks were great. Service was good, but had to ask for water refills. Asked for a group pic before we left and only 1 was taken - I was too embarrassed to ask for more -- and the pic wasn't great. Overall, wonderful experience and will recommend to friends.
Outstanding dinner casual yet classic ambience
Before leaving booked again for next evening..plus live music
Wonderful Honolulu experience!
Rooftop on a great evening in Waikiki was only made better by great service from Sara. In a busy section she made sure we were looked after. Overall experience was fantastic!
Took my wife here for her birthday on 3 February 2020, based on the recommendation of my boss. He raved about the restaurant calling it one of the top 3 places he’s ever been too. I mentioned taking her to Ruth’s Chris and with zero hesitation he told me Tommy Bahama’s was without question a better overall experience. He was 100% correct. The atmosphere was inviting and the staff were phenomenal. Our server was very knowledgeable of both the corporate menu and the local menu. He gave personalized recommendations and seemed to actually care that we enjoyed our experience. He was on point with just the right amount of attention. Didn’t hover but we never went without drink top offs or him checking on us at just the right moments. The food was simply phenomenal. No need to salt or pepper the dishes as the flavors were distinctive and deliberate. IMHO, the prices are cheap for the quality of food and the experience...however for most of us it is fairly expensive at face value. For the two of us to eat it was about $140 before drinks and tip for a couple different steak plates. Which means it’s probably a special occasion restaurant unless you’re lucky enough for that to be considered actually cheap. In which case I say good for you! I’m not rich by any means but have learned to appreciate good food and experience as an occasional reward for hard work and celebrations. I’ve had the luxury of traveling the world for work for over 25 years and for me it was in the top 10 I’ve ever been to. For the average person that may not get to travel as often, I would think they’d be hard pressed to name 5 places better. Highly recommend.
Great dinner for our anniversary meal. We have made it a tradition over the last 3 years. Service by Ken was exemplary. Hope management takes note. We will be back for next year’s observance.
We love eating at Tommy Bahama’s. It’s always a treat
It's a beautiful place to have lunch, never crowded. Food is good, service is ok. The view down Kalakaua is excellent and there is usually a great breeze.
Great service and food. Love the ambience.
Friendly attentive staff, excellent food, great atmosphere
Great food and service.
We ate on the roof top and it is just beautiful. The service from Danielle was very attentive. The food is always delicious. LOVED the Key Lime pie. Such a refreshing dessert. The crab cakes are some of the best I have ever had and the Thai Shrimp and Scallops were so good.
We know Tommy’s well. Typically we are in the a Palm Desert location.
This rooftop location was very nice. Cool vibe. Fire pits a great addition.
Likely going back before we head home.
Would recommend this spot.
Had dinner on their rooftop dining area. Great views, food and service. Enter the restaurant inside the retail store and take the elevator up to the restaurant.
Overly warm for sunset reservation with open windows but cooled off in evening. Enjoyed ahi poke appetizer and ahi entree. Wine is limited but reasonably priced. One martini had to be returned as it was made dirty with excessive vermouth when dry was ordered.
It was a birthday dinner. The food was delicious with generous portions and Our server was fabulous! Sorry I forget his name, but he really helped make our experience lovely.
Our waitress was amazing!
We have been to this location many times. We typically go at least once when visiting the island. My husband and I both got recommended featured specials. My husband said his entree was average at best. My entree was shrimp and scallops with risotto. The first thing I noticed when my entree was delivered was that it was extremely fishy smelling. The shrimp was good, while
The scallops where just so so. I believe the abductor muscle of the scallop was not removed on some of them. This made an unpleasant chewy not so nice surprise. The risotto was very sticky and somewhat dry with not a lot of flavor. This was a very disappointing visit, definitely missed the mark! The best thing about the meal was the Pina Colada Cake and the complimentary bread and butter.
Excellent service and foodie type food! A very nice experience all the way around!
Food was good, but the service was outstanding. What a great way to spend my anniversary!
Really loved Tommy Bahama Waikiki! We had a lite meal, but each item was done really well.
We always make a point of eating at Tommy Bahama - the atmosphere is great and the food is delicious, I love the complimentary bread and cinnamon butter and that all the mains come served with vegetables too. ...I also love the clothes, so it’s a double bonus for me.
