Tommy Bahama Restaurant & Bar - Scottsdale
It was a beautiful and it was lovely having lunch on the big patio. Our server was excellent! And I made a good choice on the food selection - ahi tuna salad. I'll go back again for that.
Sat outside and away from music...which was perfect for us.
Could hear ourselves talk.
I have been a loyal customer of Tommy Bahamas restaurants whether in Scottsdale, Laguna Beach or in Hawaii. I have introduced many locals and snowbirds to your establishment. I am a foodie.
There is a major complaint I have along with other friends and that is the quality and quantity of the portions in the Scottsdale location. Yesterday we took a friend for her birthday lunch.
Our steak salads were ordered medium but arrived at the table raw. I put my 3 most rare steak pieces onto my bread plate and sent it back separately while my friend sent her entire salad plate back to the kitchen for additional cooking. This required a few minutes only. Eventually the salad plate was returned to my friend with MY 3 steak pieces on it and I received nothing. To add insult to injury her entire dish was MEDIUM WELL with several burned pieces. Eventually they brought me 3 new pieces of meat from who knows where and mine too were overcooked. Then came the birthday dessert - a joke - In the past we had a choice of a decent size piece of cake. Then it changed to 1/2 the size of cake and NOW you offer up 3 tiny bite size pieces of dessert samples. The waiter brought 3 forks - a joke! i An establishment like yours should behave more respectfully towards loyal patrons who celebrate occasions there. Someone is missing the mark - Happy patrons ensures repeat business.
There is some disconnect between the servers and the kitchen and this needs to be addressed.
The birthday portions must be increased to at least 1/2 piece of cake so as not to insult the celebrant.
The mushrooms on the steak salad need to be removed entirely (the appearance is gross) or returned to the glory of the original crispy mushroom of the past.
2 items have been changed for the worse. Your steak salad - used to have crispy delicious mushrooms and now you are serving mushy overcooked mushrooms that look like regurgitated mushrooms and they taste bad.
Have eaten here many times in the past. For whatever the reasons, the food was not as good nor was the service quite as good. Maybe too busy on a Friday night?
Great food. Service was kinda slow. I was there for 20 minutes before I got my drink order. Love the coconut shrimp and I had the shrimp and scallops which were a delicious curry flavor with almond rice.
Ate here during a vacation to the Scottsdale area. Good food, service atmosphere and weather!
Tommy Bahamas is always a great treat when we visit yearly.
The BEST coconut shrimp appetizer anywhere! Coconut encrusted crabcakes were excellent! Wonderful CILANTRO & GINGER CRUSTED MAHI MAHI entree! The pina colada cake is "to die for". Love this restaurant. Out server worked her "butt" off, but probably had too many tables.
Always a fun happy atmosphere. The food is always amazing!
THE PORTION SIZES WERE DECREASED FROM OUR LAST DINING EXPERIENCE, AND SOME OF THE FLAVORS WERE NOT THE SAME. I TOOK 5 PEOPLE OUT TO LUNCH , AND I THINK I WOULD PICK SOMEWHERE ELSE NEXT TIME.
Great food and great service. Dining room can be a bit loud but it's still a great place to dine.
We had dinner late on a Sunday evening, so it wasn't too busy, but still lively enough to enjoy life on the outside deck. Our hostess and servers were friendly and attentive, and our meals, ahi tuna tacos and filet mignon salad were excellent. We would go again.
I asked for more bread and it was never brought!!!
Excellent mahi mahi
We celebrated our sisters birthday. The service was outstanding, we had an issue where one plate was cooked longer than we liked and they were so fast to get things turned around. Thank you for a great and fun celebration.
Excellent place, excellent service , delicious food
Celebrated our anniversary. The food was exceptional, our server was friendly however it took a bit longer than it needed.
Always love TB, but since the remodel the noise level is just too high, much too high to have a nice relaxing conversation with dinner without shouting to each other. Not sure you need energetic unless there is dancing or exercise involved. Why does everything need to be so loud???
Food seems gimmicky, not high quality. Too few healthy or low sodium or low sugar choices. The awards program is complicated and awkward. Recently booked a reservation for a birthday dinner and waitress failed to recognize it.
Room was beautiful, but the wait for drinks and dinner simply took too long. Re. food, salmon was good, but asparagus stalks were huge, and they should be tiny for the best taste! Crab was delicious, as was shrimp.
adrian is an awesome server and our food is always very enjoyable!!!
We dined in the upstairs room, which we requested because it was much quieter and allowed for conversation. Service was attentive and recommendations were on target. I found the beer list to be less than I would have expected from a place of this caliber. Our food was delicious and the dessert, which we hadn't planned on having, turned out to be fantastic.
Great food, good service. A little pricey.
Wonderful food with very good value. I was expecting the prices to be a lot higher because of it's location being in the Kierland district. Our servers were great. We had a new trainee who knew where Saskatchewan is and was very good for conversation even with our kids. He will be an asset to the restaurant. Even though there was no seniors' menu, they were able to split a filet mignon meal into two for my mom and dad. Now that's what I call service! And good service deserves good gratuities.
Our server Gene was great! First visit for 2 out of 3 of us. We loved the open airy dining room.
Reception staff was a bit too young and untrained. But she checked appropriately with her manager in regard to not seating us beside a bunch of noisy kids.
But she left us standing in the middle of the restaurant when she disappeared for a long time to check on our request.
The service was outstanding all the way through.
Fillet with coffee rub was perfectly cooked and very good. Coconut prawns were good, but a bit too greasy tonight. Oil was probably not up to temp because of the large number of orders being delivered around us for the same. Duo of dips is always excellent. My MahiMahi was good, but the dish needs to be updated. I am not fond of seaweed, and it was not listed in the description. My wife is terribly allergic to it, and she almost had a bite before I discovered it. But it was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented.
Piña colada cake was fantastic. Drinks were also great and the server was very attentive.
Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
At this point, I don't know that I could recommend Tommy Bahama's to anyone. I took 3 other people with me last Sunday - only 1 other had been there before. We were seated in a timely manner, but had absolutely no one approach our table for almost 20 minutes. We did have menus, at least. Finally a young woman approached us and asked if we had been helped, and she was horrified that we hadn't been. She took it upon herself to be our waitress. Her name was " Nisha". Totally about the best part of the night was meeting her!! We placed our drink orders, and received them in a while. Then placed our orders for soup or salad Then the entree. The people who ordered salad received it in a very quick time. The soup didn't come. Our waitress came over, and saw an unhappy face, and ran to get the soup. She later told us that usually soup and salad aren't served together. Before we finished the aforementioned items, our dinners came - delivered by people who had no idea of who ordered what. Luckily we were not a table for 10! My swordfish was excellent, the shrimp and scallops were well liked, and the filet mignon was good also. The last order of a steak was ordered medium rare, and came to the table more on the well done side.
I've been to Tommy's multiple times, and the restaurant has always been a pleasant visit. The visit this time seemed to me that the former management didn't care too much about people's visits. I can't see me bringing anyone new to Tommy's = as I had said how terrific it was, and the haphazard evening was not well received.
A clothing store has some of the best seafood in the valley. Love the crab bisque. Unexpected. I felt like I was in Hawaii or the Caribbean.
I recently took my friend to Tommy Bahama restaurant for her birthday. We had a delightful afternoon . We both ordered the Lump Crab salad. It is so light and delicious!! We enjoyed a lovely glass of wine from their wonderful wine list. My friend was treated to a plate of three miniature desserts for her birthday.
Gene was our waiter. He was so personable and met our every need. We thoroughly enjoy our experience!
Great appetizers and mai tais
Very disappointing. Been going to TB’s for years, just ate at the Maui location last week and it was great. The Scottsdale location has gotten very skimpy with their food portions. Ordered the crusted snapper and it was not much larger than a fish stick. Used to be more than I could eat. The asparagus that came with it was the size of a piece of spaghetti. The food was still good but the portions are a joke. I had my company holiday party there last year, NOT this year. If they’re not making money, increase the prices, not reduce the portions. Too bad as it used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Scottsdale, not anymore.
TommyBahama Restaurant in Scottsdale was fantastic!
Food is great , ambiance is amazing.
Location was great, smack in the middle of some nice shopping.
If you are ever in the area it’s a place to go.
It will not disappoint. Thank you Andy for taking some nice pictures of our group.
Usually the food is excellent, but this time I had a send my filet back as it was tough.
Guests visiting from Copenhagen Denmark 🇩🇰
Hunter was grear
Absolutely fantastic, as usual. I highly recommend this location - great outdoor space and expanded outdoor bar in addition to indoor seating - and at the edge of Kierland Commons, a great area for shopping.
We loved our experience Saturday night. The food was excellent and we loved our table next to the windows. We could hear the steel drums and still have great conversation.
My son and daughter and I had an early dinner, which was delicious. There were excellent vegetarian options, as well as so many delicious entree options for a carnivorous diet. The key lime pie was the best I have ever encountered! Our waiter was the perfect combination of attentive but not overwhelmingly so. It was the perfect setting for a nice memory.
Another excellent dining experience at TB!!
Food delicious, Adrian was funny & awesome!!
