Tommy Bahama Restaurant & Bar - Sarasota Ratings and Reviews
Called ahead to make sure the restaurant knew this was a Birthday celebration for my 18 year old and her friends. Let them know that she had my credit card to use and that I wanted them to bring her a special dessert. They confirmed with me that they would take care of it. Not only did my Daughter and her friends report that the waitress was rude, they also felt that due to their age, they were not given good service. Her dessert was never brought as requested and confirmed. They brought the bill and never gave her a copy of the receipt. Very disappointed in the attitude and service of this restaurant.
We always love Tommy Bahama! They were busy but not slammed and we waited for about 10 minutes or more for someone to come over to the table. That is completely unacceptable. The hostess could have ordered our drinks if they were short handled. I get that because i work in a hotel. Our waiter apologized as he should but he wasn’t very friendly. He acted like we were an inconvenience. We almost walked out.
Our waitress was wonderful!!
The chicken dish was great!
My sisters loved the burger and steak salad
My mom had the fish and chips
And tacos were good!
Didn't care for the crab salad. It was packed up to go but it dropped right thru the bag and had to toss it in the dumpster
Fun evening !
Otherwise. We loved the staff!!
Party of 8 with 7 people who had never been to Tommy’s before. I always recommend and was not disappointed. My friends are foodies and work in the food/hospitality/travel industry. They loved the atmosphere, the service, and they all thought the food was fantastic. Chicken Lollipops, Coconut Shrimp and Ahi Tuna Taco appetizers were passed around for all to share. Dinners ranged from the Fish Tacos to the Kona Rubbed Ribeye. Something for everyone!!
My wife and I ate here last week with a son, daughter in law and 2 kids, and as usual were very pleased with the entire evening. So when friends this week, 4 of whom had never been to TB, asked where we should go, I wholeheartedly recommended It. We were very pleased, as we have always been, with entrees that include the snapper, cod, chicken, and shrimp and scallops. On the negative side, it was noisier than usual, probably the noisiest it has ever been with a group of 9 behind us and a singer who, well good, was louder than we would have preferred. Our waiter served us very well; can’t remember his name. We will return on future visits.
We have been to Tommy Bahama’s a number of times and love the food, location and music. This time we sat upstairs and were quite impressed. It is quieter, more comfortable and a lot less traffic being away from the bar. Our server tried a little to hard to give us great service and we went elsewhere for dessert and more drinks. We appreciated the effort, but too many interruptions.
We came to celebrate my birthday, so I could have my favorite macademia encrusted snapper. We love this place...great food, wait staff is always terrific (friendly, attentive...we had John this time and he was awsome!) and it's conveniently located on St. Armond's Circle. (great shopping/walking/people watching) A great night out!
Such a great restaurant for not only dining, but for being with the ones you loved. I enjoyed the "Chicken Mango Salad" in which was to die for. The waitress was outstandingly nice, "Summer," and she knows how to work a table. The bread was fantastic. Especially the cinnamon butter. I would highly recommend this restaurant to any couples looking for a great date spot or even a family with kids; a kids' menu is available.
Very loud- difficult to have a conversation. Many children running around upstairs and the parents weren't stopping it. Was expecting this restaurant to be more upscale and frequented by adults (not families with young children). Staff did apologize for the chaos
We normally frequent this restaurant whenever we are in town. On our last visit, I picked one of the suggested favorites - the pork belly fried rice. My first impression was I first saw it on the table was it was very greasy. It took me 5 spoons to realize portions of the rice was raw. The waitress was honest enough to tell me it's always a hit or miss whenever someone orders it. The manager stopped by to ask me if there's any thing I like, i just recall telling him to take that dish out from the menu. It tasted to bad, really. He was kind enough to take it out of our bill.
