The restaurant didn’t seem extremely busy but staff seemed over their head. A couple next to us left because no one ever came over to serve them. And our server didn’t seem to have too much knowledge of menu.

This was the worst dining experience ever. We were a party of 4, placed in the upstairs section of the restaurant. A party had reserved one half of the restaurant and it was blocked off by rattan partitions. We noticed this when we’re seated and expected maybe a louder atmosphere than normal would occur. Well, what happened far exceeded an acceptable noise level that we could not even talk to those at our own table. The party goers walked between our tables as others blocked the way waiting at the bar. They appeared to be completely oblivious to other paying customers. There was absolutely no way to enjoy the meal. The managers did try to assist moving a nearby table about a foot but not before party goers were standing over them as they ate. In a ridiculous effort to accommodate the regular patrons the management tried to put more barriers and encouraged the party to move into the section meant for them. This effort did not work. We did mention our displeasure to the level of noise to our waiter and he seemed unaware that it was a problem. The complete lack of awareness by the staff to how miserable our dining experience was (and those around us) the most disappointing. To top it off, as we were leaving, we noticed there were plenty of tables on the main level where we could have been moved to enjoy our meal. We did voice our concerns before leaving, but the “I’m sorry,” doesn’t even meet the miserable experience we had.

Tommy Bahama is one of our favorite restaurants in Sarasota. The drinks are always great. We share the chicken mango salad to start I had the snapper and my husband had the Sanibel Chicken. It is always good. All of their desserts are great.

We opted to sit outside because it was so nice. It was VERY street noisy. No one came to our table for 25 minutes. We asked to be moved inside which was MUCH nicer and someone finally came to get our order 20 minutes later. It was great from there on out.

The service was excellent and overall the food was very good. The fish tacos are different than they used to be. The tortillas are corn instead of flour . The Mahi Mahi was in larger chunks and a little overcooked. I liked it better when you had the other sides with the tacos, think it was cooked plaintains, slaw and the yogurt salad. The bread was not as fluffy and harder. I have eaten at Tommy Bahamas for many years and eat some of the same entrees every time I go. For the last two visits I have noticed a difference in the food prep.

We had dinner with Marley, who was fantastic and had great recommendations for drinks and dinner. After hitting the store for clothes shopping, we stopped back in and sat at the bar with Audrey and Tori. They were so friendly, efficient, and a pleasure to chat with. This was our first time at the restaurant and because of each of them we will be back!

Management has a big issue here with start to finish. Even people w reservations are cued out the door while open tables everywhere. As regular guests here we usually sit on the Lanai. Refused to seat us there. Put upstairs w walk ins. Waiter was new. Water took 10 minutes. Drink orders another 10. Not used to it. Too much competition to rest on the Brand. Though their frequent dining program is generous

We all really enjoyed our food selection. Our server was very nice,but oh so slow getting food and or other request. We really thought that perhaps the problem was that the restaurant was understaffed. We ate outside under an umbrella and it was pleasant and quiet.

We had a really nice dinner at one of our go-to restaurants in St. Armands. The food was great and our server (Alex) was fantastic, despite working the bar and waiting on the tables in the bar area. She was attentive and on top of our every need.

Fries were hard and cold, bun was burnt and chicken In salad was hard to cut. Salad came out uncut and same with chicken. I wouldn’t recommend unfortunately.

We've been eating at Tommy since moving here in 2003. Even though they are more expensive because of the location and experience, we usually don't mind because we get a solid meal. This time the food was just ok, and we paid $9 for a side of broccoli that consisted of two stalks. I understand things have gotten more expensive, but that was a little ridiculous. Disappointed would be a good word for it. We'll think twice about going back.

There was live music in the restaurant but it was so loud we had to shout at our fellow diners in order to have a conversation. We complained that it was too loud but our waiter, David, said there was nothing they could do because there was a birthday party going on. The birthday party was also very loud and disturbing. The food was great but our service was not good. I love Tommy's but this was not a good experience.

This location needs to take lessons from other locations. Service was good and Server very friendly but no management in sight and place is just poorly run which is evident in overall feeling when you arrive. Sitting outside there was zero ambiance-no candles, no twinkle lights - literally zip. Walking around later so many more appealing places to dine. Love Tommy Bahamas in Naples and picked Sarasota location for that reason. Also guy who played music took ridiculously long breaks. Food was not the same again as Naples - one stalk of broccoli and literally a tablespoon of potato’s on plate - it was laughable. The end result is even during the shoulder season in Sarasota Tommy was dead which should’ve been our first clue compared to other locations on St Armand’s that were much busier. Could be a great place if some changes made.

Had a 7:00 reservation and arrived 35 minutes early and they were able to seat us. Our waiter Danny was great, so helpful. Highly recommend!

Crab cakes are not lump crab meat. They are back fin and mushy. Everyone at our table said there meals below par. Service was good. For what they charge it should be a little more elevated! Maybe table cloths and a nice laminated menu for starters instead of some thin paper menu.

I love visiting the St. Armand's Tommy Bahama. It was a beautiful day, so we sat outside under the umbrella. The blackened Mahi tacos were wonderful! Of course, I had to take home a large slice of their awesome Key Lime pie.
