Tommy Bahama Restaurant & Bar - Naples Ratings and Reviews
We always go to Tommy Bahamas when our children and grandchildren visit. It is a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and the food is excellent. I ordered the coconut shrimp appetiser and it was lukewarm. I asked to have it re-heated and the chef actually brought me a new order, with great apologies, perfectly done. Our main courses were excellent. In fact, my husband said it was the best meal he has had in Naples all winter. And - he felt the prices were reasonable.
We ran into an accident on I-75 on the way there, so we were late for our reservation - a special dinner to celebrate my parent's birthdays. I was told when we got there that only "inside seating was available" which was rather irritating to me as I felt we were being penalized - even though I called and let them know we'd be late. We were sat at a table way in the back next to the food station and my parents were having a hard time hearing and talking over the noise. I tried to switch our table but was told the noise level would be "10 times worse" when the live entertainment started (which was not accurate as the music was not that loud). So overall, the hostesses need an attitude adjustment. Our server was great. She was very nice and very attentive. We had the coconut shrimp appetizer which was very good. My father and I had the Snapper which was also very good, though the rice had some very hard grains/almonds that were rather surprising. The browned level on the fish between my father's entree and mine were not consistent. My mother ordered Filet Mignon - Medium-Well. Our server did ask her to cut into her steak to see if it was cooked properly, and on the piece that she cut into it was, but the rest of the steak was well-done. The server did have the entertainment acknowledge my father's birthday which was a very nice touch. We ordered the Coconut Cake and Key Lime Pie for dessert. The Coconut Cake was fantastic, and Key Lime Pie was very good but the crust could use less macadamia nuts. This was our second visit and frankly we had a better experience the first time. I was surprised at the way the hostess's treated me as well as the inconsistency with the food. Maybe it was an off-night for being a Monday, but for this level of a restaurant I expect better.
I've been to several Tommy Bahama Restaurants and all have been excellent. Service is always fantastic and food great. The Tommy Bahama in Naples was really nice, but the food was inconsistent with every other location I've been. The tuna poke specifically was not up to their normal standards. Over all I don't judge this on one bad app, but it was surprising. Love these places you can't go wrong!
Wish I could remember the great good looking bartender that makes the pineapple mojitos!
I went to other "Tommy's" and asked for this drink and was disappointed. In Cocconut Point the bar woman THREW in a lime when I asked for the TRUE Pineapple Mojito.
"Ya wan a pineapple? - here I'll throw one in"!
Our service was very good and we were seated promptly at our reservation time. Unfortunately the food was mediocre at best. The live music was fun but the overall noise level in the restaurant is very loud, thus making conversation difficult. We will not return for dinner.
We sat right next to the musician and I was concerned about the noise level, but it wasn’t a problem at all and in fact he was amazing and added to our enjoyment! The food was fantastic! We had the coconut shrimp as an appetizer and I don’t usually order that, but it said World famous on the menu. They were right! It was the best I ever had, not from frozen!!! Two of us had the pistachio crusted snapper. It was delicious! My husband had the shrimp and grits. He thought it was good, but not enough to order again, but I think it was that he decided he’s not into shrimp and grits. The shrimp and scallops wasn’t a big hit either. For dessert we had a peanut butter pie, which was to die for!
We took friends from out of town here and they LOVED it. THE atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for. The only thing we would have liked would be for the music to be not as loud. He was very good but at times we couldn't hear each other. Will be back!!
My husband and I were celebrating our 45th anniversary. I think Tommy Bahama’s is a great place and I recommend it to guests and to my own customers. My dinner of BBQ ribs was not hot enough and I didn’t want to risk having it microwaved and wait while my husband had his dinner. The ribs were cool in the middle so I suspect they were not finished properly by the chef. I had requested French fries instead of mashed. The serving was very small with very short pieces and definitely not hot enough. Even McDonalds can do great fries. We will return again but I was disappointed with this dinner.
Other than the waitress being bi-polar or passive/aggressive the whole time the meal was as expected. She did not make as pleasant an experience as it could have been.
Crab bisque outstanding although a very shallow cup for the price. Coconut Shrimp was great. But getting a little more mango sauce was met with derision and it took two times asking to get.
