Tommy Bahama Restaurant & Bar - Naples Ratings and Reviews
We love Tommy Bahamas. We return often. The service this visit was not great. Our waiter was probably the worst we've ever had. We mentioned several times we were there for a birthday and he did nothing to acknowledge the celebration. Food, music and ambiance was wonderful.
Bad start, but a great finish. When we arrived there were lots of ourside tablesavailable but they took us to the worst table ever in a corner next to the kitchen walkway. We rarely ever refuse a table so they seated us in the opposite corner - the second worst table. Then we declined it and moved to an inside table. We were very polite and the staff who seated us were not.
Then our server Leopoldo arrived and saved the day. He was so knowlegable on the menu, the ingredients, and made good suggestions. He also was very upbeat and entertaining.
We had the crab cake appetizer and it was delicious. My wife had Snapper and I had Shrimp and Scallops. Every restaurant in Naples offers these dishes but these were created on a higher quality level. We had a creme brulee dessert and it was equally excellent.
I received an unsolicited call from a Tommy Bahama manager the next day and after telling him the story I received a call from another manager who apologized and said he would work with the greeting staff.
Bottom line - this is a great restaurant but unfortunately we met a couple of staff people that aren't on board with the others.
I'd been to Tommy Bahamas a number of times before with my daughters. Food, service and music was excellent. On this past Sunday, however, things went way off track. Service was so so, but the tuna entree was served cold. My wife had an upset stomach the morning after and I felt like I had a avocado pit stuck in my stomach. The guacamole also had very large chunks which made it difficult to dip with the small chips. Different musician that night--not the regular guitarist that I really liked. Bad experience--perhaps it was an aberration based on our prior positive experiences, but that's the unvarnished truth.
We love coming here when we are in Naples. Food, drinks and service were perfect the evening we dined here. The manager was especially kind and helpful. She is outstanding in her job as manager. She was not afraid to help deliver drinks, serve food, assist in any way she could to make all guests feel comfortable and welcome, and do it all so graciously. This is how a restaurant should be managed! We will be back again soon!
We always love tommy Bahamas in Naples! The festive atmosphere and open air dining make you feel like you are in a tropical paradise. The hostess was excellent and friendly and patient when we arrived a bit late for our reservation. I love that you can shop while waiting for your table! Our server was excellent as well. Prompt and friendly and accurate with all of our orders. The key lime pie is a must! I had the filet which was cooked to a perfect medium rare. Nice menu with a good variety of choices for everyone. And the margaritas are excellent. We also enjoyed the live entertainment. All in all a great take!
I had a reservation with outdoor seating and was seated by a speaker. They acted likeI had no reservation & wanted to know if I wanted to be seated outside. Offered me a direct sun table, no offer for umbrella. I did not want direct sun so set us by speaker in back. Food was good, as was service. Very noisy.
The food was disappointing. We've dined here many times before but it wasn't up to par last night. My $8 Bungalow salad had hardly any of the toppings listed and I ordered shrimp on it and I was served an appetizer of fried coconut shrimp. Additionally we mentioned a special code to the server that was listed in the TB email but didn't receive anything for it.
We have dined at this location several times and have never been disappointed. However this evening they featured a seafood paella special. Having had this dish in other restaurants I must say Tommy Bahama failed at their attempt to accomplish this dish. It was less than desireable. The rice was hard and tasted like sea water. No spice no flavor in the dishe except salt. Just awful. I recommend they remove this from the menu forever.
