Tommy Bahama Restaurant & Bar - Mauna Lani, Big Island Ratings and Reviews
It was our last night in Hawaii and didn’t feel like going too far. The restaurant was very near our resort. Both of our dinners were probably the tastiest we had all week! Our pitcher of Sangria was so good! Our waiter was very patient and kind! If we come back to the Big Island we will definitely come back more than once!
Visiting the Big Island and looking for great food close to our resort. Menu looked great and the food and service did not disappoint. The shrimp spring rolls were excellent, my husband loved his porterhouse cut pork chop and the macadamia encrusted Mahi-mahi was delicious! Unfortunately too full to try dessert but they looked and sounded amazing. The coffee as a finisher was hot & strong just the way we like it. My husband’s dirty martinis to his taste and the lemon drop was perfectly tart ( the wine list looked good too).
I was on vacation for a short week and managed to have two dinners and one lunch at the restaurant. I always eat there when visiting and have never been disappointed. Staff, food, service all excellent. I can easily recommend Tommy Bahamas not only for their food but for the shopping downstairs as well. Great concept. Mahalo 😀🌴🍍
It was our fist dinning experience and It exceeded our expectations. Considering Tommy Bahama is know for its clothing you wouldn’t expect a nice dinning experience.
Dillon our waiter was engaging and well informed and thoroughly enjoyable. We would his restaurant and to make a reservation.
Roy's never disappoints. Friends have been keeping a running tally of food and drink on the Big Island and Roy's topped the list from Mai Tai's to entrees. Special fresh catch Mong Chong and Mahi were well prepared and actually were fresh. Savorys were exceptional and the soufflé was anticipated and perfect.
We needed a nice place for our last lunch on the Big Island and immediately decided on TB’s because we had a wonderful dinner a few nights earlier.
Had a great conversation with the manager.
The goat cheese appetizer was great - as was the fish & chips dish we shared.
I have always loved going to Tommy Bahama restaurants, but this was my least favorite. The dining area was not the best. It was windy that nite so we requested indoor dining and given a table in a less than acceptable corridor. I think they need a designer from their Palm Desert TB. Food was good, service always exceptional, ambience ruined the entire eve.
I didn't know that Tommy Bahama had restaurants. The one on Hawaii in the Waikoloa area was very nice. The atmosphere had a good vibe. The live musician didn't overpower conversation. The service was prompt and the food was very good, especially the Thai shrimp and scallops. The shrimp on the crab stuffed shrimp dish was a bit overcooked, but the dish was still good.
We arrived 10 minutes early for a 6:30 reservation and were told the restaurant was running true to their reservation times, so please come back in 10 minutes. We left, came back in ten minutes and were seated fairly quickly. There were numerous open tables, so I don't know why we weren't seated when we originally arrived. They could have asked us into the bar where there was also open seating, offered us our table and said the wait staff would be with us in a couple of minutes, or a number of other options, but come back in ten minutes? Didn't start the evening off on a good footing, and I can't imagine the manager would instruct the hostess to act that way.
