   Total team effort, staff friendly and experienced. Manager came by table to check on us and service which was a nice touch. Food good so it’s worth the price - really delivered on food taste and quality. Vanessa was great! As was the entire wait staff. Would recommend as a nice way to treat yourself. Aloha

   As always, we thoroughly enjoyed dining at Tommy’s Mauna Lani. We were fortunate to have Joanne as our server. She leaves no stone unturned and insures an excellent experience. Our coconut shrimp appetizer was as delicious as ever! The Mac Nut crusted Mahi with asparagus and rice pilaf was on point. The special Big Island Burger was super flavorful and accompanied by crispy fries. We were flattered by the manager who asked if everything was to our satisfaction. Of course we said, “ABSOLUTELY”! If you’re looking for a wonderful dining experience, Tommy Bahama’s is the place for you!

   Overall TB is a solid choice. However, we would like to see the food quality at this location go up a notch or two. Not as good as the Palm Desert location that we are used too. The view here is incredible though.

   Tommy Bahama's has always been one of the Big Island's best restaurants. Recently, they acquired a new chef whose specialty is Italian cooking. Now, Tommy Bahama's kitchen produces some of the best Italian dishes on the Big Island. Last night, I had the shrimp fettucine special. It was absolutely fantastic! Previously, I had their lasagna special, which was also great. The pasta is freshly made in their kitchen and the sauces are outstanding.

    Happy Hour was amazing, then my birthday dinner on the patio. My husband said it was the best meal he had the whole trip! Our server was completely knowledgeable of the menu, kind and very attentive (but not too much so)! Thank you for the birthday dessert and coupon. We will be back (hopefully soon).

    We go to this Tommy Bahamas every year. This is one of our favorite restaurants. Great facility, food and drinks. It is a bit steep in price, but worth a visit I you are in Waikoloa area.

    Service was terrific! But the food was terrible! The crab & avocado salad came with wilted greens that had clearly been sitting in the dressing for hours and the avocado was very brown. The burger was tough and chewy. They are usually very good so I hoe this is a one off.

    From the lovely hostesses to Dawn at the bar, Vanessa our server and Dan B. Manager , the dining experience was great. We had the crab cakes for an appetizer….absolutely delicious. My husband raved about the Thai shrimp & scallop entree. I had the salad with filet mignon. The filet was cooked to my satisfaction, medium. Very filling entree. Celebrating my husband’s birthday, Vanessa brought a piece of pina colada cake with a candle. Delicious. We have always had a positive experience at TB when visiting the Big Island.

    When we stay in Mauna Lani (fortunate enough to visit paradise on average of 1 - 2 times in a 12 month period), Tommy Bahamas is one of our go to places—either for Happy Hour and/or dinner (preference is outdoor seating for dinner; noise level indoors can be quite high). The items on dinner menu and the cocktails never disappoint. The service had always been wonderful too. We live in SoCA and have dined at other TB locations, but the vibe at the Mauna Lani location is special.

    Understand that there are not many choices of restaurants in Mauna Lani area but the food was not good at all. Wife ordered Ahi Poki and Crab salad. The Ahi Poke would have been much much better if they had bought it from Foodlands super market nextdoor and placed it on an avocado. The Crab salad was merely made by placing cheap canned crab on some veggies. Looked bad and tasted bland. ordered a side dish of fries for my baby back ribs and it came before the beer I ordered and before the bread. The ribs were dry and the sauce was just OK. I wish Ruth Chris did not s hut down in that same Mauna Lani Shops area. You can tell that the place is short staffed too. Waitress was nice but unfortunately the experience was not good at all.

    Key lime pie was the highlight. Miso salmon was disappointing in appearance and quantity. Broccoli was bland. Our server was fantastic - great attention to detail. Had “birthday” in Open Table reservation which was only acknowledged when we checked in. Waited for 15mins for our table. Whole experience was less than expected compared with many prior visits.     Somehow our order was lost so we spent a lot longer in the restaurant than we wanted. The wait staff was nice and took some off the final bill. Ambiance was okay I guess. Given the reputation of their clothing I was expecting more from the restaurant.

    Very inconsistent. Sometimes the food is good. Sometimes it’s alright. This time the food was bad. Really not good. Our waiter was lovely. But the hostesses were not friendly and it seemed like we bothering them by arriving for our reservation on time. Musician was lovely as well. Overall disappointing.

    The manager should never come over and argue with you over a food item you sent back. Two entrees had requests for medium rare and medium well. My wife didn’t send hers back but it was closer to beef carpaccio than medium well. Rather than just bring another entree at correct temperature she choose to bring it back to me and say no actually it was medium rare, would you like it back. Seriously who does that???
