Always great food & service. This is an oasis in the middle of the frenzy of NYC’s 5th Avenue.
Good vibe, great staff, and food - totally recommend!
Great food amazing atmosphere
Came to NY for the Rockettes Xmas show. It was pouring rain after the show. High winds, flooded gutters, masses of people with umbrellas fighting for space on the sidewalks. Pretty miserable. And then we entered the tranquil peace of Tommy Bahama’s. Above the street level, the ambiance was warm, welcoming and cozy. Drinks were generous and the food was creative and delicious. Notable were the chicken tortilla soup, the filet mignon salad and the wagyu burger. Our reservation was an early slot so service started off well. As the evening progressed, our server seemed to be assigned to too many tables. Our waters weren’t refilled. Coffee was delivered cold. It took 10 mins to get replacement hot coffee (which they were nice enough to comp). We had to request our check after a long wait. Our server was lovely and competent. Just spread too thin.
The only thing missing was the beach. Very comfortable setting. The waiter was excellent. No rush at all but was present for anything we needed.
Always a pleasure to dine here. So happy you came to my city.
Nice restaurant but service was extremely slow. Server was not attentive at all. Food was very good as per usual
We arrived late and were still accommodated with a table quickly.
The service was polite and expedited.
Highly recommend for a noght out as couple or with friends!
The reservations were very much appreciated on a busy Saturday in New York. We were transformed from the cold outdoors to a warm and inviting dining room where we were treated to a wonderful meal. The goat cheese appetizer was so very good, and each of our entrees were fresh and tasty. Dessert did not disappoint with the chocolate mousse and the pina colada cake. We really felt full and happy after dining and look forward to stopping by again on our next trip to NYC!
First-I noted that it was a special occasion when I made my reservation. No mention was made by any member of the staff to ask what the occasion was or whether there would be any sort of need for a candle on a dessert. The food was decidedly not as good as usual. The bungalow salad did not contain the elements of feta cheese almonds macadamia‘s etc. there was no dressing. Things were very poorly presented. The tuna tacos hardly had any tuna, the flatbread had no mushrooms ( despite the name). Very disappointing, all in all.
I had made this reservation a few weeks prior to the day we went. Got there, seated right away. The table they gave us was in the absolute worst location possible. It was the walkway to the elevator, the walkway for the staff to use to carry tables, chairs, other stuff. Our waitress and bartender was wonderful, the food was good, the location of the table was horrible. We finally asked to be moved and they were unable to move us but did buy us each a glass of wine. My advice if you go there? Ask for a nice table off the main drag. There was no way we could've had a peaceful, quiet dinner in the spot they put us in.
Another wonderful business lunch in this oasis in the heart of midtown Manhattan. Staff support a team effort and are warm and engaging, food is delicious and beautifully presented. Great opportunity to RELAX over lunch.
We had a great time at Tommy Bahamas. The service was really excellent and the lunch meal was wonderful. We enjoyed their pina colada cake. I recommend it! Enjoy!
The service was great and the food was delicious. It's a bit loud for a business meeting.
The Ahi Tuna bowl is what I go to Tommy Bahama for. It’s the right size and absolutely yummy!
Really nice food although huge portions. Friendly and efficient service and the added bonus of a live musician.
Tables were a bit close together for comfort and for private conversation
Comfortable and relaxed place for anythint from drinks w a friend to dinner with a group.
We live in Connecticut and whenever we visit our son who lives in Brooklyn we love to eat a Tommy Bahama Restaurant. The food is always wonderful, consistent, and the portions are huge. The service, drinks, and atmosphere are always perfect after a long day of shopping and walking around the city. We also enjoy shopping at the New York store as they have more to offer than our Connecticut store located at Mohegan Sun. Thank you again for making our experience so pleasant. Can't wait for our next trip to NYC and dinner.
My niece and I had a wonderful time at lunch this past Saturday. The atmosphere here and vibe is great, relaxing and very island-like. The food is great, I had the chicken tortilla soup which was excellent and the grilled chicken sandwich, another excellent choice. Service here is fantastic, I was very thirsty and they kept filling up my water glass on cue. the only slight criticism I have is that the ladies room wasn’t cleaned up. Great location on 5th Ave.
Excellent food and service in a laid back atmosphere. Was nice to be in a restaurant and able to hold an audible conversation with friends. Superb wine list as well.
Tucked away from the busyness of the street and up a spiral staircase, this place is a real gem. There was live music when we were there and it was a great vibe. I find the food to be of a high quality without the pretentious atmosphere (the seared tuna is excellent). Comfortable seating (we had a booth to ourselves), and enjoyed having all the plants around.
Tommy Bahama never disappoints!!
Love the Tommy Bahama vibe and food! Located on the second floor, this TB restaurant is a nice escape from the crowds on Fifth Avenue.
Not your typical restaurant. An oasis of fun and calm, very laid back. Comfortable seating, live music at night... a solo singer doing the old rock classics. The menu never seems to change, but a good mix of items. We loved the soups... both the taco and crab... order a cup... the bowl didn't seem like much more. Loved the avocado, the coconut shrimp, the chicken entree. Wine by the glass reasonable for NYC. Service was excellent.
A great casual treat at affordable prices yet in midtown. Filet steaks cooded to medium rare and medium well perfection. Pleasant quick service. Would have rated 5 overall but closes with last seating 9:30 PM so when we returned at 9:50 unable to enjoy the cake diserts that looked so great!
I feel like I say the same thing every time. The food is great, fresh and not heavy! It is perfect before theatre or meeting friends for drinks. I love it best during a snowstorm as I can pretend I am on vacation! Plus, you can get points towards future meals!
Lovely place!! Menu has some unusual items but the food we ordered was very good!!
Great place
The seared tuna was wonderful; the menu was inventive: we all loved what we ordered. Plus, the place has a wonderful easygoing vibe, which makes a meal there a respite from midtown chaos.
Great restaurant -- though crowded we did not wait long for a table and never felt rushed. The business crowd comes between noon and 1:30 so it cleared out after then. Portions are very good so items could be shared. Not unreasonable expensive but not cheap either. I'd go back :)
Amazing vegetarian and gluten free options and the food was delicious.
Breakfast was amazing! The waiter was nicest and sweetest plus super helpful. Nice ambiance too. Highly recommended.
Anniversary. Food was amazing! Server was incredibly knowledgeable and very kind.
Great food and service.
the level of the food has gone down since it opened
I tried this restaurant several years ago and had two very good experiences and then one horrible, never to be repeated dinner reservation. I decided to try Tommy Bahama, Manhattan again and wow, what a difference. The menu is fairly static but the level of service was excellent. I have been back twice and each time everything was perfect, food cooked as requested, when I had trouble deciding on a wine I was offered a taste of each, and the service was impeccable. My new fall back place. It is a pleasure to have a reliable restaurant in my address book.
Tommy Bahama has become my ‘go to’ restaurant for getting together with friends. In addition to great food and service, its central location is very convenient for all.
Great service and nice lunch menu!
Food and service were great. Noise level perfect for business lunch.
The waiter was attentive and the food was delicious. I had a retirement party here a few years ago and would definitely have another event here. Its a neat spot!
