This is a hidden gem. Nice nautical Caribbean feel to the room, excellent food, warm friendly service, live music, good value.
David and his front of the house team are terrific and the kitchen never fails with consistently fine cuisine!
I always have a great experience at Tommy Bahama - my friends and I went on a double date. As always the food is great and it was so nice to be able to hear each other!
Food was great. Noise level is not so great. Plus there was music, which makes people speak louder. Music did not add anything to experience except noise.
The lunch salad that we had was very good. I highly recommend this restaurant for lunch.
Food was good but service was not. We waited 30 minutes to get a couple of very simple entrees.
I wanted to really like this place as I’ve heard great things but our meal was only average. First of all we waited over 40 minutes for our entrees to arrive, and they were pretty much all salads (3) except one crab cake appetizer, so not sure why it took so long. We were pushed to get apps and ordered chips and guacamole and it was tiny. But the entree portions were big so made up for it as I was quite full after the entree.
Great menu, wish it was a little bit more extensive. Everything ive had there so far has been very good.
make you feel like you are on an island instead of in busy NYC. Fish Tacos were outstanding. Can't wait to go back
Great and creative drinks. Food is consistent and accommodating for allergies.
Drinks are not strong AT ALL yet pricey.
The food was just ok....not bad or unbearable but not spectacular either. How does one have shiitake mushrooms in the description but provide ONE shiitake mushroom? It was ok but I wouldn’t go back.
This is my boyfriend’s (and mine) favorite place to come for ribs in NYC. The sauce is delicious and they are fall off the bone tender. Definitely worth the trip to midtown. I also love the coconut shrimp and I get the pina colodas which are luscious! The vibe is relaxed and has a chic vacation feel.
Best option in the neighborhood
Great place to hang out after work. It’s a bit crowded and loud in general.
Very nice tropical style breakfast in the heart of NYC. Made us feel like we were back in Hawaii.
Great venue. Great food. Loved it
The food and drinks were delicious and the live music on a Saturday evening was very, very nice. Attractive restaurant, great location, very friendly and efficient service.
World Pride NYC
A place to come again and again! Food is excellent and service is attentive.
Loud and tight. But it is New York City! Food was terrific. Service was a bit slow, but it was very busy.
Great atmosphere and friendly service. Love the cocktails and menu. Drinks & food are always delicious.
I went to Tommy Bahamas earlier this year with a friend and we had a good experience which is why I went back with my family. The food was much more expensive this time. My husband didn’t enjoy his seafood and was still hungry when we left. Overall, we weren’t impressed.
Do not go that frequently but always a good time when I do. 😊
had a large gathering of 14, they put us in our room with personal service. Was very impressed
Service was very slow. Steak was raw and not cooked food was average for price
I’ve been many times! I work in area. A bit disappointed this time, my Cuban sandwich came with 3 yucca fries, and I had to ask for more. I paid for full glass of wine and it was 1/4 full, didn’t say anything about that. They made good on everything (except wine cause I didn’t complain) but point being none of this should have happened. Also got 1/2 my meal to go and they only put in 2 fries there too - and should have been 6-7. What is it with the yucca fries cheapness?
Great Ambiance and food. Love the appetizers, and salads, always very fresh. They usually have a special cocktail. Also tables far enough apart to have a good conversation.
I always enjoy the food at Tommy Bahama....
However, my usual location is in Jupiter-Florida, and this was my first time to the NYC location on Father’s Day.
I always enjoy the food at Tommy Bahama... The lump crab avocado salad is so uniquely prepared & presented and tastes amazing with a great texture & crunch. The filet mignon flat bread is also a favorite.
However, compared to the Jupiter location, the welcome was amiss. There was no one at the host station to receive us, which is fine, but a bit awkward after a few minutes. I did feel that once we were seated that our server and runners were nice & friendly and met or exceeded expectation during our meal.
The only unfortunate incident is that we had ordered some of my favorite desserts to go... The “large” pina colada cake and the “large” key lime pie. However, I’m not exactly sure what happened, but they brought over a small shopping bag with two take-away containers, which were environmentally-friendly (so you couldn’t see through the boxed desserts), and when we got home to NJ, the boxed dessert containers had a slice of the key lime pie in each (which equates to a “large”). BUT, there was no pina colada cake. We naturally just assumed that the two boxed desserts contained each of the two items ordered. And unfortunately, we WERE charged for the missing pina colada dessert according to the itemized receipt. It’s unfortunate but not enough for me to totally slam the service rating. I remain objective, as I overall enjoyed my dining experience at the NYC location, and always have an above-expectation experience at the Jupiter FL location.
Our waiter was wonderful and very engaging! It was Father's Day and he acknowledged my husband who was with our children.
Lovely ambiance... waitress had a lot to be desired! Asked about bringing bread to table.... finally came back and said haven't baked any yet for the day! Asked if there were onions in the ahi tuna bowl.. She said no! Of course when my lunch came.... it was full of onions! Had trouble finding her and she 'blamed' it on the kitchen! Never came back to ask if everything was OK until it was time for coffee and dessert!
Excellent service with nice atmosphere and decent food at a moderate price.
Great for families with a kids menu .
There’s not a lot of good choices around this neighborhood they are either tourist traps or too high end so this is a hidden gem.
The waiters were excellent and the manager gave us a voucher for a free appetizer because we told him we are going to Hawaii soon . Highly recommend
I went to Tommy Bahama to celebrate a friend’s birthday. It was Saturday late afternoon so it was not too busy yet. The live music was very nice, the songs performed were classic hits, and just the right volume. I’ve been there other times when the music was a little too loud, I prefer it lower so you can still converse with your fellow diners. And because we were celebrating a birthday, we were given a complimentary dessert. Very nice.
Came during busy time. Had to ask twice for “ Special of the day menu”
this restaurant is always great great great!!!!!!!!
Food is great and never disappoints! Cocktails are fun and unusual.
My friends and I get together a few times a year and our favorite restaurant is Tommy Bahama.
My retirement party was held there in 2015 and everyone had a great time.
Every time we have dinner the food is always tasty, the cocktails inventive and the servers are professional but personable.
The ambiance always puts you in a good mood.
Travis the manager does a fabulous job, give him a raise!
Can’t wait to return, possibly next month.
Nice vibe, good vegetarian selection and kid's menu. Variety of choices and roomy tables. Good choice for anyone shoppers and business people in mid-town.
Fun place with good food
The restaurant was dirty and felt neglected. Lots of tourists too.
