Good food and service as usual. Little pricey for some items but quality comes through.
Great atmosphere great menu for good and drinks ! Great bar
The food was good with attractive display. However we were near a very noisy table and could not hear ourselves speak.
Was a birthday celebration
We love Tomatoes. Always consistently delicious!!
Had a great meal and a great time, our reservation was on time and our server was great, always a great meal and they made our dessert for my daughter special with a candle for her birthday.
The service and food were fabulous. No complaints there. Although I ordered a beet salad and was disappointed to see there were no greens in the salad. I was taken back by the prices though. They seemed rather hefty for the meal received.
Thank you for everything. We had a great dinner on Easter. Thank you again.
Staff was helpful and table was ready on-time. Variety of food and drinks served
Read the reviews and they didn't disappoint. The happy hour cocktail menu is amazing, try the pink prozac martini (proceed with caution...lol). The ceviche was outstanding as was the sushi and the lobster.
The restaurant was very crowded, but as soon as we checked in, we were immediately seated. Our waiter Charles was excellent. We had a first time visitor with us, and he was suitably impressed. We had appetizers, salads, sushi, and entrees. Our top two favs are the Brussel Sprout Salad a d the wonderful Calamari! Sushi was very good. Biggest disappointment was the spaghetti and meat balls. But that was probably an ordering error on our part.
This was our first trip to Tomatoe's and it will not be out last. My wife and I enjoyed several good martinis at the bar followed by a nice meal in the dining room. We had a sushi/sushimi apetizer and split a nice wedge salad. My wife had the Pad Thai which was good - our only criticism was it was a little light on the shrimp but nonetheless very tasty. I has the Chilean sea bass which was delicious.
Had a wonderful dinner and then later after dinner cocktails at the bar. I used to live nearby and would frequent often. Tomatoes never disappoints. Always quality food with a lively atmosphere. I'll be back soon.
Been there several times. Always good. GREAT whiskey selection and varied menu. Will be back.
My husband is vegan. We were able to order a meal he could eat. It was delicious!
We have been there about 5 times in the last 3 years but after this last experience I will not be back again. I ordered the soup special and crabmeat with pasta, my boyfriend ordered sushi. They served my soup and my entre at the same time when I said I don't want both items at the same time then they took back my pasta. when my boyfriends sushi came they brought me back the same pasta dish (which at this point was 30 minutes old). They took it back and brought me a fresh one a little while later but at this point my boyfriend had finished his meal and I ate alone. I understand mistakes happen and to anyone.. perhaps if a manager or someone in charge had come over to the table and apologized it would be different but nothing... I wont be going back there and suggest everyone down in Margate go to Steve and Cookies the food is better not as expensive and I have never experienced anything like this in the 8 years I have been going there.
Excellent food beautiful setting and exceptional service. I would recommend Tomatoes to all .
Tomatoes is my go to place at the Jersey shore
It never disappoints and has the best salt & pepper calamari I've ever tasted
I had one of the specials, Shrimp and grits with sautéed spinach.
It was unbelievable. I wish it would be on the regular menu.
It was spectacular.
The food was outstanding and our server Veronica a real gem
When we are staying in Ocean City with friends for a winter weekend (this occasion), we always find ourselves coming to Tomatoes for dinner. We find it an excellent restaurant, food so good and service always good too. Our server, Veronica, was especially good: friendly, funny and gave really good recommendations on menu selections.
Happy hour rocks
Went with the Chilean Sea Bass and it did not disappoint! I started with the Miso Soup - I thought it would have been better since Tomatoes has a variety of Japanese fare...it was just "ok". Dessert was delish. Our server was friendly and attentive. Staff kept our tables clear of dishes as we finished each course. We will be back!
Food was delicious, server, Amy, was very friendly. The only problem was that we felt rushed. We weren't half way through our appetizers when our dinner was brought out. They need to slow it down a bit.
Great food. Great waitress named Amy.
We drive over an hour to Tomatoes and enjoy each and every visit. Our most recent trip led us to the short ribs and huli huli salmon. We started with always outstanding sushi and the farro and carrot salad which was so good we could have had seconds:)
Can't wait to go back!
The food was impeccable! Wife and I had the Chilean Sea Bass. Omg! That's all I need to say! Period! You will not be disappointed. Our server Kate made our night! Explained the menu, spent time with us, and made us feel special throughout the evening. A contagious personality and great sense of humor was warmly welcomed. Bravo to Kate and Tomatoes for making our night!
Consistently good service and food!
The FOOD was DELICIOUS!!
The SERVER was PERSONABLE!!!
We had a GREAT NIGHT out with FRIENDS!!!
Everything was amazing as usual. We have always been happy to dine at Tomatoes and will continue to do so!
Wonderful! Delicious food! Great server!
Soup, salad and entree were very flavorful and excellently prepared. Service was top notch.
Food and service was great! I will definitely go back!
Tomatoes used to be one of my favorites but their menu changes have not been for the better. They took off the original salmon dish which was always delicious and replaced it with the huli huli? No more shrimp gyoza no more lobster Bolognese. The crab spaghettini is not spaghettini, they are using a thick spaghetti which therefore should not be called spaghettini on the menu. Not sure what’s going on over there. Miss the old tomatoes.
My girlfriend and I had a poor dining experience here on New Years Eve.
1) no mention of set menu on Open Table during reservation process or through subsequent emails
2) overpriced, uninspired, fixed price menu
3) long waits for drink orders, refills, and in between each course service
4) the band was very loud and it sounded like an instrument or speaker was unplugged- we’re young but it was impossible to talk to the person across from you
5) the man next to us, and his date, put on a show of PDA, drink spilling, and inappropriate behavior
6) our food was just plain bad; our steak knives could not cut through veal or a New York strip, nothing had any flavor, and we had to sit with it for 15 minute before anyone came to ask how it was.
This place has a great reputation and we were prepared to have an excellent experience. It was a serious disappointment on a rare night out.
Given that it was New year's Eve, we had a fixed menu to choose from. There was sufficient variety and we all enjoyed the meal. Wine selection was very reasonable and they also had a higher priced wine selection available by request, if you did not see anything that appealed to you on the regular wine list. Service was excellent. Been here before and have always had a great meal in a fun atmosphere.
Very enjoyable New Years Eve dinner.
When I looked Tomatoes up on Open Table it did not say that they were having a special menu for New Year's Eve. That was the reason we chose this restaurant and when we got there, they had a set menu which didn't have many entree choices that we wanted and was very expensive. My steak was not cooked to my request, was hard to cut because they have terrible steak knives and was fatty. My wife 's entree was something she never orders out and she didn't like it. We were disappointed that they didn't advertise the special menu on Open Table.
A great night with great service and great food! Went out on New Year's Eve which is usually not the best time to evaluate a restaurant. Upon arrival for our 6:15 reservation, out table was immediately available and we were offered to be seated or we could go to the bar and be seated in a bit, our choice. Very nice. Our server, Veronica, was very friendly, fun, and informative about the food choices and provided great service. The food was amazing from our appetizers to the salads to the entrees. We were too full to eat dessert, but we ordered it to take home and have later that night. Veronica mentioned that the desserts were homemade and they were delicious, especially the caramel pear pecan cheesecake. All in all it was a great experience. We have been there a number of times, but haven't been there for a while since it is about a 45 minute drive from our home. The only thing that wasn't perfect was the seating was very tight and we were so close to the people on either side of us that we felt that we were eating with them. We figured that it was probably because it was NYE and they wanted to get as many seated as possible for the night.
Great cocktails, delicious food and outstanding service. Our server was Tara, who was personable and professional and ensured our meal was a wonderful experience.
