We had such a great meal at Tomatoes last night. It’s a bit pricey but to be expected in Margate. Our server was the sweetest lady ever. I had THE BEST gnocchi of my life - ask for a side that normally comes w the Pork Chop. Can’t recommend it enough. He got the chicken sandwich and said it was the best he’d ever had! Can’t wait to go back
Great food, great service, great views. Best place in Margate!
Went here for our anniversary. Food was delicious as were the drinks. My husband and I had a good time. However, the tables were way too close together. I’m a petite woman and I had to move a table to get to my chair. We had the patron next to us ask us if we were vaccinated bc we were sitting so close to them. It was just crazy.
Never had such a bad experience at Tomatoes before! Place was crowded. My chair was touching the chair behind us. The waiter told us to rush our order in order to get the specials or sushi and that it would take about 45 min to come out. He then left and didn’t return until 20 min later to tell us that there was only one order of the special
Left. The food was NOt tomatoes food. Our party got sick on the way home or during the night. What a shame!
PS the price was still the same!
Drinks - wine bottle was corked - we didn’t even touch it!
Great food. Love the couple vegan options but would be awesome to have even more plant based meals. Fun atmosphere and sweet server but she was overwhelmed and our food was very slow coming out. I’m sure you are short staffed but maybe you should limit resos so service is better.
Delicious but waited a while before order was taken and then served.
We live in Connecticut but have owned property in Longport for 26 years. This is the first time we were at Tomatoes because she could never get reservations. We entertained another couple and the evening was delightful. All of us enjoyed the food and certainly we intend to frequent Tomatoes more often, reservations permitted.
We frequent here often. Always a pleasure and perfect.
We had to wait for a table and almost left. Otherwise it's great.
Tomatoes never disappoints. The sushi is the finest you will ever taste. The selections are fabulous. The special Bronzino was wonderful. Drinks are made perfectly and the staff and atmosphere are great! Overall experience is a 10 +
Everything was excellent. Food and service are top notch. Pork chop is a must try!
Will not return. Food was mediocre and expensive. Did not get bread or refills on coffee
I would have given 5 stars but there was a glitch in the service. My platter was brought and my husband had to wait another 10 minutes for his food. His order was a salad and there should have been no reason for him sitting there and having to watch me eat. He had noticed that our server was busy chatting away with another table and did not even check on our table. My husband had to say something as Tomatoes is a classy establishment and both orders should have been brought together or an explanation given to us as to why the delay on his meal.
Our waitress kept disappearing. Gave bread to other tables not us. Ordered a second round of martinis which came in a highball glass. We were informed they were out of martini glasses. We have been there consistently through Covid and this was a horrible experience. All other experiences were great
Great place for family celebrations. Sushi is always fresh. Always a delicious meal.
Our reservation was ready when we got there. Our server Mariah was freaking awesome! She was phenomenal! Never missed a beat despite how busy she was.
Food is great, service is meh, scene borders on the obnoxious. Who dresses the hostesses?
Very strange to have a time limit givin by a text before we entered your restaurant ,
Veronica was a great server!! Love the poke bowl ❤️
Everything was great…I love their sushi, but the last 2 times we were there my husband orders a burger and they were cooked way to fine well done. That turns my husband off since he doesn’t like sushi and goes because I like it. He would never complain about the burger.
On our first visit to this popular restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised with the marvelous food and service. It’s not just a cougar bar; it’s a first rate culinary experience. A nice selection of moderately priced wines by the glass. Our entrees were superb especially the Euro chicken. My copies was flaky and had a nice sauce and asparagus. Leave room for desserts. The Oreo cheesecake was yummy and a generous slice. Nice atmosphere with mostly adult groups, nicely dressed.
Our server Dennis was busy but always was making sure we were all good, he was great
Had not been there for a while. Appetizer selection was excellent. Sushi apps that we ordered where as good as any we've had elsewhere. Gazpacho soup special was top-notch, as was there brussel sprout salad. Entrees were delightful and blueberry crumb pie ala mode was a great finish. Our server was excellent. Looking forward to returning.
Too long a wait for sushi
If you want to be sure to get Covid and Delta variant go to Tomatoes. Have been there many times without an issue but tonight felt unsafe. Capacity was clearly over whatever the fire Marshall would allow, no one including staff was wearing masks, and was “ standing room only” in inside dining . We were told to wait for reservation and waited outside, and when it came time to sit we walked in and felt so uncomfortable that we would be eating on top of everyone and everyone would catch anything anyone else had …we left and didn’t eat there. In over a year of dining during covid and over 100 open table reservations throughout tri state area in the past covid era year this was My first suck experience . Am I seriously going to be charged for this?
I was a little apprehensive about the food because it seemed like a posh diner with so many options it seemed unfathomable. But it was outstanding! Everything from the ceviche to pad Thai to sea bass. Very impressed!!!
Great as always!
There were 4 in our dining party and each of our meals were very delicious! I always get the pork chop here- my favorite- it was cooked perfectly and was juicy and hot! I also LOVE the key lime martinis here with sugar on the rim- so good! Our waitress was attentive and overall experience very positive!
Eaten here many times. The main dishes are not as good as they once were. Sushi is very good and the server was great.
I had not been to Tomatoes for about 8 years and my husband and out-of-town guests had not been prior. It did not disappoint! When I made the reservation on Open Table, I ordered a bottle of Prosecco to be brought to our table upon seating to celebrate our guests wedding anniversary. It arrived as ordered and kick off a very enjoyable dinner. Our waitress, Veronica, was excellent! The appetizers (Octopus and Green Thai Chili Mussels) were well prepared, and the sushi extremely fresh and well presented. Thank you to Tomatoes staff for a memorable evening. We will return!
We had the sushi and we love it there
Busy, loud night. Extremely inattentive waitress. Medium burger was overcooked.
Our server Amy, was nice but made us feel as if we were an inconvenience to her night. Mumbled and was not attentive.
Everything was great from the food to the service and the ambiance. The environment was beautiful and enjoyable. Only weird thing was being sat in a pretty tight spot between two other tables.
As always, the food was delicious! Especially like their beet salad and pork chop. Ambiance is great too.
Tomatoes has been a favorite for years, we are lucky enough to visit 1-2x per year, but this visit fell short of spectacular. We kept it simple with dumplings, sushi rolls, shrimp rice bowl and creme brûlée. Nothing came out hot enough, the sushi rolls were battered rolls but arrived room temperature. The bowl was mostly shredded carrots and rice but I must mention that the snap peas were superb! We eagerly awaited the creme brûlée….normally hands down the best in all of South Jersey, airy melt in your mouth heaven. But sadly this time it was over cooked. The ambiance was busy as expected on a Friday evening, no live music before we left at 7pm. Service is always friendly and great.
The food and drinks were delicious. We began our dining with drinks and appetizers served in the first 15 minutes. We did order our meals at the same time. It was a lengthy wait for the next meal items, at least another 45 minutes. The waitress did check on us early on but was not particularly pleasant. Maybe it was not a good evening for her.
This was our second meal there this year
Every thing was wonderful
Our wait person was great
I was impressed because she covered 25 percent of customers
She kept her cool the whole time
The menu has something for everyone
