Tomato Grill Ratings and Reviews
I enjoy Tomato Grill as a less formal setting in a nice area. The food has been exceptionally good each time we have been here and the prices, while not cheap, are reasonable for the quality. Service is always good with pleasant servers and quick seating.
For great Italian food (without going into Little Italy) this is our go to spot.
I had pretty high expectations in looking over many of the positive reviews; however I felt the meal was pretty average. Manhattan Clam Chowder was fairly bland and devoid of any clams. The Veal Oscar was good, but not great. Flavor was fine, but it was soaked in sauce. My wife did really like her Mushroom/Eggplant dish so that's a positive. Our server was also average and never even brought over the desert options before dropping off the bill. Overall, it's a decent place, but I probably wouldn't make the trip to Hudson just for this restaurant... there are closer places to us that serve similar quality food.
The reservation was easily made on Open Table, we were seated as soon as we walked in, the dinner soup special was great, as were the dinner specials which we all selected. Our server, who we have had several times before, is the best. Took our drink orders, gave us the specials and then gave us time to decide. Appetizers were served and enjoyed, no rushing, then dinner and then a great selection of desserts .
Awesome as always. It would have been so easy to stop the ball as it was nye and they were super busy but that’s not what happened. The good and service was as great as ever. We always have a good experience at this restaurant. I had the stuffed twin lobster tails. They were cooked perfectly!!! My husband and daughter had pasta dishes. We especially enjoyed the carrot cake and key lime cheesecake for dessert. Look forward to coming back ASAP.
We have visited TG 5-6 times in the past two years. We have enjoyed our visits. We had not realized until our last visit that side salads added about one-third to our bill. We were not
specific, since it was a birthday celebration , that the salads were not included with the entree.
Most of the restaurants where we go on special occasions include a small salad.
The salads were great! We will ask next time if the restaurant has a small side.
I ordered eggplant at $18. The slices were so thinly cut you could see thru them and they were the size of a cucumber slice. Maybe there was a quarter of a tomato and a slice of cheese. Very disappointing. Service was slow and it was very noisy even though there weren’t too many customers. I will think twice about going back.
The restaurant was very busy service was a bit slow the chef burned my wife’s meal herb crusted chicken in marsala sauce and the sauce was black and you couldn’t tell the chicken from a mushroom we’ve eaten there quite a bit this was quite frankly the worst meal we’ve ever had their very surprised
I have eaten at multiple restaurants owned by this company and found them enjoyable and found the food to be good. My recent visit was horrific if I wanted chicken fingers which were $19.00 and came with no sides I could of gone to McDonald’s and fed my kids for the same price. The Tomato Grill should be embarrassed to serve this type of meal. I have eaten at this restaurant group for the last time
As always, Tomato Grille serves wonderful, at times creative, Italianesque food. Friendly service as always. The proximity of the tables in an already small space can make things a bit noisy, but knowing that, you plan for the type of occasion. And on this visit, the gluten-free hazelnut torte was incredible, and we don't even need to be concerned about gluten. It just looked and sounded great and it was.
This was a disappointing dining experience for my family. My son-in-law ordered a pizza dish and was served a pasta dish. When we pointed out the discrepancy there was barely an apology and no offer to exchange the dish. Additionally, both my daughters' meals were subpar.
When the bill was delivered there was an 18% gratuity included for a table of 5 without any offer of a discount due to the incorrect meal being served.
Service was very good. Lasagna and sausage were excellent. Homemade Ravioli was a bit rubbery. It may have been that we were there near the end of closing at 3 pm on Sunday. Overall nice ambiance, everyone is friendly, very clean and can carry on a conversation, low noise level. Would definitely return to try other dishes. Especially the seasonal soups looked delicious.
Tomato Grill is one of our favorite restaurants. We love it for lunch and dinner. The food is exquisite, unique, perfectly prepared and delicious. You can watch a game on the TV in the bar, eat dinner, appetizers or just enjoy a glass of wine. The ambiance is wonderful and the service is the best. I would recommend Tomato Grill most highly.
We always enjoy dining at the Tomato Grille. This time, though, my husband had food on his fork as he pulled it out of the napkin before even eating. Attention to detail make a difference. My friend and I were a little chilly and we both wore long sleeves.
WE would return again sometime in the future.
Thi is our second trip here and we will keep coming back for the great Italian food and wonderful service. Very nice aesthetics and we were seated right on time. Server was very attentive, brought us several wine tastes and very friendly.
A great experience overall
