Tomasso Trattoria Ratings and Reviews
We love coming here on Mondays when its a little quieter. Tonight I wanted to try the new pizza I saw when I was here last week... called "Capricciosa"... garlic cream, asparagus, speck, fried egg, fontina, Grana Padano. It was excellent! Another new dish... the Gnochetti Primavera...
small gnocchi with asparagus, peas, wild mushrooms, and roasted tomato... was also superb! Our standard meat balls and a burrata salad completed another excellent meal here. Perfect service!
Had a fantastic meal here on Patriots Day. Kudos to the owner, Tom Prince, who gives back to the community on this day every year by offering residents/workers in Southborough 50% off food. Thanks for doing that!
I've stated this before. If they have the pork chop on the menu...order it! Was a special tonight so it made my choice an easy one... and it was a thing of beauty! Called "Costoletta di Maiale"... a grilled heritage pork chop, served with a side of fingerling potatoes and a cabbage slaw salad... was a great combo. Everything was perfectly cooked... went well with a Peroni.
Meat balls (awesome as always) and an order of Bucatini pasta completed a great evening. Service from Ryan was excellent. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Saturday evening, we had reservations at 7 pm and were promptly seated. Interesting titbit - they offer a discount (think 10%) if seated before 6 pm and after 8 pm.
Been to Thomasso's many times; as always it was good. We like that they keep finding new twists to the refined Italian food that they serve.
We had salad, pasta and salmon - all very good. We ordered biscotti for desert - what was placed in front of us were different types of cookies, fudge, etc and not the true Italian biscotti. The cookies were good, but we were a tad disappointed in it getting the 'real biscotti'.
We have enjoyed this restaurant many times and have always been delighted with the food. Several in our group consider themselves "foodies" and there is always some thoughtful and creative selections to choose from. One of our group has some digestive challenges but gluten-free is never a problem, and the wait staff takes care to make sure everyone is happy.
We were lucky to get a seat in the back. Nice Restaurant first time we dined there. The Beet salad was very good. The entrees were not exceptional. Drinks were light. We decided that maybe it was an off night on the food side of the coin. Ambience is nice, not fancy, or white table clothed. Considering the higher prices for what is a strip mall location ,one might think they would be white table clothed. The service, however, was excellent. Excellent waitress and bus people. We will return as we have learned to give a restaurant we like three tries.
Fine dining in the 'Bouroughs! Delish authentic fresh Italian fare. Prices are a little expensive, and drinks as well - but for a fun time or special occasion it is nice! Atmosphere inside is comfy, warm and inviting. Staff was attentive and kind. I will definitely be eating there again!
In all it's a good place to eat. Service always seems a little slow. Our waiter was also the bartender. That seemed a little odd for a Sat night as she was definitely busy. Food was a little salty but not overpowering. The soup was excellent. I would say the name, but the waitress did not now how to pronounce it so we just called it tomato.
We've been coming here for a long time and never have had a bad experience or meal. The food and service is always outstanding. Mike the GM and Jeremy the manager have this restaurant running like clock work. I highly suggest you dine here. You won't be disappointed. If you love pasta or lamb, you'll love them both. Their pastas are always made fresh daily. lamb porterhouse chops are to die for. They always have incredible special and there wine list is awesome. Thank you for a great dining experience.
Excellent chow tonight. Stopped in for a casual dinner... meatball app, a great salad called The Caprino w/mesclun greens, creamy goat cheese, roasted baby beets, candied walnuts, sherry vinaigrette. Had an excellent Funghi pizza: mushrooms, roasted garlic, Fontina Valdostana, ricotta, truffle oil, and arugula on top. Nice vino and excellent service. Grazie!
We went on Valentine's Day. Our reservation was at 8:00 and we were not seated until 8:25, and it was nearly 9:30 before our pasta course arrived. We were there until 10:30. Some of the fixed menu options were no longer available by 8:00 PM. It seemed like they massively overbooked the restaurant because the kitchen was overwhelmed. They had plenty of waitstaff around and they were very friendly and attentive, so the issue was not on them.
That said, the food was excellent. But as expensive as the restaurant is, you'd expect timely service.
This restaurant is a gem. You'll never get a bad meal or service. Mike the GM, has the restaurant running like clock work. All the staff does an amazing job to make your dining experience the best it can be. If you like lamb, I highly recommend the Lamb loin porterhouse. Absolutely cooked to perfection. Their pastas are always homemade and fresh. You can never go wrong with any dish.
We have long gone to Tomasso's and enjoyed its inventive take on Italian cuisine.
Some dishes are disappointing, but most hit the target (especially the risotto and pasta ones).
When crowded, the restaurant can get quite noisy - intimate conversations are not possible.
Tomasso's is also an excellent mid-way point to dine with friends from eastern Massachusetts.
Its hard to find a nice place in Framingham for lunch that isn't a chain restaurant. Tomasso Trattoria fit the bill. Nice variety on the lunch menu. My friend and I and I had a salad with added grilled chicken and a pasta dish. Both were very good. The bread was super delicious - I should have purchased a loaf to take home for dinner!
We went for the Friday Date Night Special (shared apps & dessert, 2 entrees, bottle of wine). Great price for excellent dinner and helpful server. We were seated near the open kitchen, and if I were to return, I would ask for a table on the other side of the restaurant -- less heat & noise.
