One of 4 in our party was not pleased with how her meal was cooked. We sent it back. She told the waitress she would think about another meal option. The waitress never followed back up with her to see if she wanted something else.
Pasta was not fully cooked, no bread, limited menu selection.
Ambiance lower only b/c we chose to sit outside (the last weekend for the tent). Food was so good and our server was friendly and checked on us just enough where we didn’t feel pressured but still where if we needed something we didn’t seem to wait before having her help. We ordered the salmon and a mushroom pizza, a bottle of Gavi and the flourless chocolate cake- all really good!
Started off fine - decent appetizer, but after taking our order, our waiter disappeared. Someone else delivered our food and then zero service our entire meal. No more drinks since the first one when we sat down, no one asking about the meal, just gone.
Eventually someone else came by and asked if we needed a box and if they could run out card. We paid and left. Still never seeing our waiter. Someone should check on him.
The food wasn’t good enough to overlook the overall poor experience. Will not return.
Long time, repeat diner. Food was well prepared and tasty as always. Menu a little less adventuresome than in the past, but probably necessary with today's environment. Service was attentive and friendly. Kitchen was quite slow. Again, understandable, but noticable. All food nicely served. Wine list very nice and affordable. Overall good evening.
Nice atmosphere although service was slower than expected, food was tasty and well-presented. Will return.
If you come here you have to try the short ribs and risotto. It will melt in your mouth. The spaghetti carbonara out of this world. You cannot go wrong with anything on this menu. Pastas are fresh.
Good was great
Freezing air conditioning
The hostess was very professional. The service was attentive. Our food was served quickly and was excellent.
I would only suggest that the red wine be served at about 68 degrees
Nice setting- we had a table for 6 tucked away in the corner, so we could
Hear each other! Service was prompt and everything was correct. Chicken piccata, pork loin special, prime
Rib, and eggplant parm - all delicious! Desserts were yummy and enough variety to make everyone happy. Would
We were so disappointed. The waiter made several mistakes, including forgetting our order and charging us incorrectly twice and we only caught one of the errors so we ended up paying for an appetizer that was never delivered. Our table was outside and the table was so tilted the olive oil spilled off our plates. The food was not as good as we remembered. Overall just a really poor experience, especially for a birthday.
All of us (6 people) had superior dinners. The server was observant to our needs but not hanging over us. We are long time customers and it never disappoints. We wondered if there was any chance of an entree choice of polpettes and pasta being added to the menu? We love the polpettes.
It has been a while since we had been to Tomasso Trattoria. Probably a few years. Food was fine, but nothing to rush back to. Had the chicken parm which was a bit dry and needed a little more sauce / cheese. The pasta was OK, but needed more sauce as well. I will say the sauce did have a nice spicy kick to it.
Husband had the steak. Portion was small for $29.
Dessert was good. Overall, it wasn't terrible, but there are a lot of better options in the area.
The food is consistently great. The servers go over and above to be attentive to your needs.
It is a favorite place where we meet friends. I looked forward to the homemade pasta, but it was overcooked.
Music was way too loud and weirdly 80’s American (for an Italian restaurant). Otherwise…really nice.
Nice , neat , great food and service
Always great food but in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere! Bar and food service were tremendous.
Food was really good.
Pasta, burrata, and swordfish. Really nice combination.
First post-Covid restriction visit to Tomasso. Sat outside (under a tent/in the parking lot). I have had better meals here in the past. My chicken parm was overcooked and they amount of red sauce was stingy. My guests chicken piccata was dry. Surprised it was grilled chicken not sauted like most recipes. The pasta was cooked al dente and you could tell it was freshly made. It was noisy thanks to Rt. 9 traffic speeding by so I wouldn't sit outside again. The service was decent, however being outside probably accounted for the lack of attentiveness. Will probably give them another try only because I have had better meals (pre-Covid) in the past... but I will wait awhile.
was seated on time for a reservation
service was pretty good
waiter was nice enough to remake a drink that didn’t come out to well
the bread was ok, a bit spicy which was a surprise and not heated, which is always s great disappointment
the homemade pasta sounded good but was so al dente it was hard
We were it and wanted to find a place that could seat us (5) that night after 7:30.
Tomasso rose to the top!
Outdoor dining was under a nice tent on the parking lot.
The food was good! All were pleased. The fresh bread was delightful. The gluten free celiac was taken care of. We were accommodated in so many ways! 4 of chose to share a Cesar salad as an appetizer.
Two of got specials and switched up side!
The steaks were cooked to order perfectly!
The only down side the gelato was a bit icy.
Their specialty is probably the tiramisu, but it is generally not gf friendly.
They let us linger and talk.
Food quality was good, service very good.
I love Tomasso. I go there pretty regularly. The food and service is outstanding. The staff is very friendly and helpful. If you haven't experienced Tomasso you should.
Ok, thought the bolognese was good, arancinis were a bit over cooked and the gelato was icy and not smooth
The food was mediocre at best. My Eggplant Parma was dry and severely over cooked. The salad (Mista) was plain and we could hardly taste the salad dressing. My friend ordered Bolognese which she said was dry and lacked flavor. The quality of food and service has gone way down at Tomasso, very disappointing, will not be going back.
Food was fresh and delicious. Enjoy the meal immensely.
We live nearby and have been dining here since the original restaurant opened and we were disappointed. My husbanded ordered the $45 veal chop which had about 5 bites of meat and the rest was fat. Ceasar salad was good. I had the steak which was a bit tough but good enough. It had a tiny bit of a sauce or butter on it and I asked for more. The waitress brought a small bowl with a blob of cold beef fat or whatever it was. I asked her to warm it up and she brought it back with a little of it melted but still mostly a cold blob. Definitely a turn-off. Service was really not very good. Despite fewer tables, it was very noisy. Definitely not the caliber of restaurant that it was in the past. Best bet here is to sit in the bar for pizza and salad.
Been here many times for dinner and every dish I have had has been delicious! My favorites are the mussel app, the burrata app, and the burrata pasta dinner.
Looking forward to post pandemic menus and service. Will revisit soon
Under the tent in a parking lot by a noisy road. Waitress was almost non-existent and could barely hear her voice. Not a great value for $145 for dinner for two. On the plus, it's always easy to get a reservation on short notice.
Great food and service! The outdoor seating is a great addition. Highly recommend it for a family outing. Allergy friendly.
Limited menu Food was average
Great place to eat, good food, great service, nice ambience.
Super nice people. Excellent bolognese and pasta
Mother’s Day brunch with my family was outstanding. Mimosas were great and the food was served impeccably and tasted delicious.
Went for Mother's Day Brunch and I'd say everything was good. The kids meal pancakes stood out as the best option. Service wasn't the best but we typically have great service here, so it is an outlier. The candle as a Mother's Day gift at the end of the meal for my wife was a very nice touch and much appreciated.
It was the best Italian meal we ever had at any restaurant. The lighting and atmosphere was perfect. The people there were so polite and ask if everything was fine. We are going again. Love the place.
Mike our server was excellent. The Saltimbocca was to die for, like butter. You can't go wrong with anything on their menu.
Waitress was very nice. The bread and water lady was rude to us. Unfortunately they were out of the drink we ordered. Then 2 entrees we ordered were also unavailable. The meal was just ok for the price you pay. Unfortunately it was not up to the standards of the amount you pay for both ambience and meal taste.
I was disappointed with the overall experience at Tomasso. My husband and I have dined there several times over the years and the food has been great and the service as well. We had not been there in a while but we decided to eat there because the other two people in our party were coming from the Boston area and Tomasso is a half way point.
After I gave my name for the reservation, the hostess seated us at a table. I didn't know she had already seated our guests at another table. She seemed not to be able to hear well as the noise in the restaurant was pretty loud and, of course, we were all wearing masks. Once all four of us were seated together, three of us ordered the tomato bisque soup. The manager came over to apologize but he never said why/for what he was apologizing. When the soup didn't come and dinner was ready to be served, we asked where the soups were. He said he thought we didn't want them because there were only two servings left. We said that was okay but we still wanted the soups and that my husband and I would share one bowl. Our entrees were mediocre at best. Perhaps because Tomasso had just recently reopened after the closure during COVID, they were not yet up to their previous reputation for great food and service. It will be a while before we try Tomasso again.
