We visit Scottsdale about 4 times a year . One of our favorite places we travel to.
Our friend from home knows the owner and recommended Tomaso’s . We met the owner before dining and he was VERY nice . We were a party of 6 and unfortunately it was down hill from there !
We had A HORRIBLE SERVER . No personality and he knew nothing about giving good service ! He truly ruined our dining experience . It’s a shame he is a representative of Tomaso’s !
Best Italian cuisine in the valley!
We were in PHX from VA celebrating our 30th and had just the most enjoyable evening at Tomaso’s. Fantastic veal saltimbocca and the service was impeccable. Highly recommend this restaurant!
FANTASTIC experience, great food, great waiter
As indicated in ratings, food was excellent. However, for the price, one would expect outstanding service as well. Unfortunately, this was not the case as we had to remind our waiter several times about requests. I hope they were just short of help that evening as the rest of the meal was excellent.
Enjoyed this truly authentic Italian meal. Would definitely eat here again. Delicious!
Changed menu with no fish
We had a great anniversary dinner there. I called and a nice lady gave us an excellent table and helped me to score points my wife by greating us with "Happy Anniversary!" When we walked in the door and gave our name. She checked on us several times and made sure we had a great experience. She was very pleasant when I asked her to show my wife around. The food and everything was great, a little noisy but it was a busy Saturday night. All in all a great experience!
One of the best meals out in a very long time. Wine, food and service so special. I have been going to Tomaso's for over 35 years (from out of town) and this was at the top of my list for quality of food and service since my first trip to Phoenix and Tomaso's.
Delicious dinner with exquisite service.
The food was incredible and fantastic service. The ambience in the large back dining room could be improved by dimming the lights and making it less like a “banquet” room. The high quality of the meal and exceptional service far outweighed the basic ambience in the large dining area.
It was ok...would go back.
Great evening Great waiter(Joseph)great food
Absolutely wonderful. Scottsdale, AZ has a LOT of interesting restaurant venues, but after being there a week, I found myself really longing for just ONE restaurant where we could get excellent service AND excellent food. Tomaso's was it!
The ambiance is lovely, with original art and white leather chairs.
The service from gracious, attentive, kind, starched- white-shifted waiters was top notch. The authentic Italian cuisine was the best I've ever had.
We had the HOMEMADE FETTUCINE WITH VEAL & FILET MIGNON BOLOGNESE and the BEST LASAGNA, with chianti. Awesome tiramisu and cappuccino for dessert.
I usually love this place and know it is usually great. However, this time both the service and food we lacking. Dry chicken, fishy lobster, and hurried servers. I will still go back, and always recommend this place to others, however this dining experience was a bust. The worst part was it was supposed to be a nice date night.
DELICIOUS! Family gathered for my sister's birthday - we had a wonderful evening with delicious food.
Fantastic all around. From the initial greeting to the desert at the end it was a wonderful evening. The Osso Bucco was excellent.
Never hesitate to go to Tomaso's for a special night out or just to get your Italian food fix. Old stalwarts and adventuresome twist complement each other on a reasonably priced menu with exemplary service. Nicely done.
We ate at Tomaso's 2 years ago on vacation and enjoyed it so much we had to come back. Food and service are still excellent and prices are reasonable for the quality and amount you receive.
Everything was spot on. Highly recommend.
We were a party of five and had a wonderful dinner. We were treated like royalty from the moment we walked thru the door until we left. My husband and I had dined here many times years ago and this time was just as fantastic even though the place had been remodeled. Food was superb, service was wonderful. Our parties’ goal is to try every Italian restaurant in the Phoenix metropolitan area and so far Tomaso’s is on top.
Even though we had an early reservation, we were sat near the busy street side of the restaurant. It was very noisey....
We were disappointed this time in Tomaso's. The service was slow. The food was only fair. There was no parmesan crust for the caesar salad, which has always been a special treat. Perhaps the crust could be offered as an option. Again, we have usually been very pleased with the food and service. Not this time.
Our table was near the bar and also near a loud group so the first half of the meal was very noisy. When we complained our waiter moved us to a quieter table. Food was really superb. Best veal I have ever had, and my wife's filet was terrific also. My only complaint is that the wine was quite expensive. The first one we tried (at $45 a bottle) was not very good. You have to pay more than $50 for a half decent bottle of cabernet.
Great overall experience.
Great food. Very quiet ambiance. On the expensive side but worth it.
Enjoyed the food, atmosphere, exceptional service; however, the noise level & loud guests put a damper on our evening.
We were greeted and seated promptly. Our server, Aaron, was knowledgeable, helpful and appropriately attentive.
They have a very good wine selection, but some items seemed a bit high. The Escargot was very good with Mushrooms, roasted garlic, butter, brandy, crostini. The Caesar was very good but we split it as our server advised it was very large. He was right. The Salmon was very good. My only minor concern was a special dish that was that was something the Mafia in Sicily liked. It was good, but not outstanding.
We've been a few times, but not again. Special of large shrimp with Lobster ravioli was disgusting. The shrimp was battered and deep fried and SOGGY and the Lobster ravioli was more like a Tuna Fish filling in the store bought, previously frozen pasta. Gross
Great Italian food!
We'd been to Tomaso's for a company event and my husband really wanted to go there for his birthday. Consistently good service, attentive wait staff and wonderful food. My cocktail tasted better than I usually get when eating out. The atmosphere is elegant but comfortable with white tablecloths and quiet enough to have conversation. The artwork is colorful, impressionistic and mostly modern. We were very pleased, and it was a perfect experience.
Very good food; a bit of a New York Italian feel..but also not far from New York pricing.
This time dinner was a disappointment. Appetizers were fine. But, three out of the four main dishes, were not hot. The waiter was nowhere to be found so we starting eating, that was our mistake. After the main course was "finished" the waiter appeared and my friend mentioned the luke warm pasta dishes, and while we received somewhat of an apology--- he said the kitchen doesn't have a microwave. You would expect for these prices hot food! My dish, the veal piccata, was somewhat tough and only tepid at best.
Net, this visit to Tomaso's bordered on poor! The company of good friends made it bearable.
The waiter was obnoxious and rude!
He was a Persian guy and I only say that because I don’t know his name and this way they recognize which waiter he was!
Real bad attitude! He spent ten minutes on our table talking non sense about himself!
He was so rude! For example I asked about my potatoes that were supposed to come with my food and he said
“what is it now?”
Food was iffy!
$30.00 for a pasta appetizer that was raw, not aldente, but crunchy raw!
The veal piccata was gray and cold!
Frankly the owner should be ashamed of such poor quality of service and food!
Not ever going back!
Two of us had the veal scallopini piccata, and the third pasta with filet bolognese. We also had Caesar salads (they were out of minestrone soup).
The bread was very good and fresh. The salads were fairly good also. However, we were all somewhat disappointed in our entrees. Nothing special or memorable about any of the dishes - no WOW factor at all. Considering the stellar "authentic" reviews, it was a let down.
As always, whenever we come to Phoenix, Tomaso's is a must. We have never been disappointed with the menu, the wine, nor the impeccable service. Quiet, elegant dining experience.
We had a wonderful birthday dinner for my husband. Thanks for the delicious birthday dessert. We had a terrific waiter from Rhode Island.
Service and food were great. Our waiter was engaging and informative about all the food. The owner cane to our table as well. I’ve been going to This restaurant for many years when I visit Phoenix and have never been disappointed. I recommend this to anyone interested in a great meal!
We loved our food and we had great service. This is a wonderful place for a quiet date night.
Tomaso’s has fabulous food: delightful pasta and cannolis to die for
