About Tom Hams Lighthouse
Tom Ham’s Lighthouse was built in 1971 by a man who was not afraid to put his name on his product. Rooted in warm welcomes & excellent food, Tom Ham made his lifelong dream a reality. Tom Ham’s Lighthouse is the only restaurant in the US to have a USCG operated & maintained Lighthouse attached to it. You can locate us on any modern nautical map as Beacon #9. Featuring a 100% responsibly resourced seafood menu & award winning Sunday Champagne Brunch, we are a must when it comes to the San Diego food scene. The dining room, purposely shaped like the state of California, allows for groups as grand as 92 yet private enough for a couple’s night out. Holiday brunches have been long time family traditions for many San Diegans. Start your family’s tradition this next holiday. With the best views of the Downtown City Skyline, Coronado & San Diego Bay, Tom Ham's is & remains a San Diego tradition in dining excellence since 1971.

Tom Hams Lighthouse Ratings and Reviews
My friend and I pick out a new restaurant every month and I hadn't been to Tom Ham's since it has been remodeled so wanted to give it a try.
Service was great and we loved the ambiance of looking over the giant expanse of water. The meal, all in all was excellent as well as the chocolate cake and ice cream. The only downside at all was that the steak was not as tender as I would have liked, but the sauce was excellent and the asparagus salad had it all going on.
I would definitely recommend the restaurant to a friend and even thought of recommending it for our reunion this year if we can get everyone in the room that holds 260.
We went for brunch, the service from the waiter was awesome, the hostess however seemed very unorganized. The food was mediocre at best and not at all worth the price. The selections were poor and lacking. I would not recommend this establishment for brunch, if you are going for the awesome view I would suggest packing a nice picnic basket and eating at a bench on harbor island drive, I’m sure it would be more romantic and much much more quieter.
My wife had the Bouillabaisse, the seafood components tasted somewhere between not fresh and just plain bad. Additionally the spice components just were not there for what one would expect from this dish.
I had the Scallops. Also not fresh tasting and overcooked. The artichoke accompaniment was tough and dry. Also the entire dish was served at a less than appropriate temperature.
My Wife and I decided to go hear when a review that we were reading referred to Tom Hams Light house. We were pleasantly surprised that this place provided the local fare that we were wanting and it was presented in a way that made us feel appreciated. We will add this to our list of places.
If you love seafood, this restaurant's Sunday brunch is the one for you! All-you-can-eat lobster, crab legs, stone crab claws, peel & eat shrimp, oysters, scallops, ceviche, as well as carved tri-tip, salads and breakfast items e.g. Meyer lemon ricotta pancakes, bacon and sausages, potatoes, eggs benedict, smoked salmon/bagels and a dessert bar to make you swoon, along with free flowing "champagne" (J. Roget sparkling wine was bing poured the day we were there). All for $48 + 3% service charge + tax! The seating on the deck overlooks the bay and San Diego skyline. The service is exceptional and friendly. This has become our favorite Sunday brunch spot in the San Diego area---and we live approx. 45 minutes away. It's well worth the drive!
Underwhelmed. I'm sure this was once the spot to be but for NYE it was unimpressive and felt like where my grandparents would have gone 30 years ago. Service was friendly but lacked attentiveness. I was hoping for a better experience. Especially for my 5th Anniversary.
Best Sunday brunch in San Diego hands down! I have been here many times. And it is one of my favorite places to take friends and family when visiting. Fresh seafood and endless mimosas alone make the brunch worth the price, but all the other food is also amazing.
Excellent food, server was quasi sincere although she tried to do her best to be pleasant, views were spectacular as was the food. Noise level was too high --- people in our group could not hear one another easily. We weren't surrounded by many people. ...overall enjoyed the experience, however, I wonder how some people justify taking their kids and letting them run around. As cute as they may be, it's not a playground nor is it safe for the kids.
