Food was just ok, highlight was pasta/omelette station. Service was good and view amazing.
Great view, so-so food. Special occasion place, or visit the bar.
We had a large party of 11 and they gave us a wonderful table next to the window with a great view of the harbor and downtown.
My husband and I went to Tom Hams Lighthouse to celebrate our 15 year anniversary. Our server, Marshia was very attentive. She came back often to our table to see how we were doing and celebrated us with a congratulatory chocolate cake. It was a great evening. We plan to come back again and bring my entire family.
The service was wonderful! Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. The food was very tasty and there was plenty. A broth based soup would have been nice - something like vegetable. A lot of people can't tolerate cream based soups.
We have eaten at TH many times for special occasions and just for enjoyment. We are so sorry to make this report of our experience. We've had two Thanksgivings prior to today. The sea food was outstanding and we were looking forward to some new flavors. The mac and cheese, not a lot of flavor, dark meat Turkey tasted terrible. The ham tasted sour. Tri tip steak had an offensive run and was tough. Vegetables were bland. Sweet potato w brown sugar and stuffing were good. Salad with lemon honey dressing was delicious. Desserts were good, chocolate bread pudding was good. Wish there was fresh whipped cream. Chocolate chip cookies were great! James our waiter was very good! The man and women cutting the Turkey and tri tip were simply miserable. We will rethink our next celebrations and Thanksgiving.
Tom Hams Lighthouse is a great place to take out of town friends- great views of the city skyline across the water. As always the service was efficient and friendly. Great classic Martini prepared and served perfectly, oysters- excellent, fresh, tasty. The Beet salad is the best anywhere. Main Courses: Scallops- a classic and deliciously prepared. The Roasted Whole Fish was simply spectacular- impressive presentation, roasted to perfection- the highlight of the meal. The Paella was tasty, but it just wasnt Paella, missing the melding of the ingredients and the slightly burned, crisp base that a great paella has. Desserts were standard, tasty but not exceptional. Excellent wines by the glass as well as a reasonably priced wine list.
Overall, as always, a great evening.
We had a great experience at the restaurant however when I indicated I had a reward card to use, the manager refused to accept it and indicated the only business they did with open table was reservations. It wasn’t a big deal but after reserving to use the $20 reward and having it ready to be used there, it was kind of annoying and inconvenient.
Great brunch as always , from the lovely ladies at the front desk to the personable servers!
This is such a wonderful spot to have dinner, you will not be disappointed by the food, drinks or the venue.
Great food, great view of downtown San Diego. Why di it take us so,long to find?
We had a week night dinner with out of town clients. It was perfect all the way around. Good service, food and ambiance. Plus the view is awesome. Menu has a good selection of seafood, a few steak items and a veggie dish. We'll be back!
Gorgeous views of downtown San Diego, fresh sea food, pasta station, carving station,
and variety of brunch food are all worth it! My favorites are the fresh scallops and oysters!! $65 and worth it!
It was great ambiance. I love the view while eating! The food was great! I cannot wait to go back!
Loved the ambience, the food was outstanding and our waiter was very attentive— couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
Great service, food well prepared and wonderful location.
Super food and service
Went for lunch and had the Crab Louis. The crab was very dry and it was like eating crab shavings. I don't recommend it. However, my companion had the fish and chips and it was great! It was a beautiful day and we sat out on the patio. This is such a beautiful spot. The restaurant is completely remodeled, and very nice and open. They have a smaller, more private dining area perfect for birthday or bridal showers.
I will go back.
Brad was great. Second time with him, such a great server! Love the outside seating area. Food excellent. Will be bringing all of my guests here.
Tom Hams was so good we went back the next day for lunch!
Perfect! Outdoor table. Special flan dessert for our anniversary.
Beautiful scenery right on the water. The restaurant gave us an excellent corner table for our anniversary and a beautiful anniversary dessert. Food and ambiance was excellent.
The view was amazing, the food was delicious, and the service was perfect. I love this place and I am never disappointed
My beautiful wife and I had excellent lunch. Great service and views. We are looking forward to going again, thank you.
It was great.
Fabulous food, great atmosphere, excellent server. They brought a gift for my wife's birthday. Thanks!!
Great experience all around but our server was especially good.
Not sure what went wrong today.
The calamari was sent back since it was cold. The replacement calamari were like rubber so they also went back and we skipped them. Then only 1 entree arrived. No way we're we going to risk a desert today!
Clam chowder was one of the best.
Always a wonderful experience, one of our favorite choices for Sunday brunch!!
Such an amazing experience! The brunch was great. Pasta station was delicious. There wasn't as much hot food and dessert selection but that pasta station made up for it. The crab legs and lobster claws were yummy (served cold). The unlimited champagne/mimosas was awesome. We were sat right in front of the window which had a beautiful view of the bay and our server David was super attentive and great!
This has been our go to spot for Sunday brunch for years. Not sure we will be returning after this visit. We arrived well before the dining room was full but were sat on the patio during a cold and windy morning. Wait staff was not very attentive or accommodating with the request for the heater to be turned on. To top off the experience my 12 year old ended up getting violently ill due to something she ate.
Tom Hams never disappoints; beautiful location, great food, and superb service. We have brunched here several times and we always look forward to our next visit.
Children’s menu selections were very nice. Fresh fish crudo was excellent, as was the lboulliabaise. Servers were friendly and professional. The chocolate mousse cake dessert was the only thing not on point - rather dry and no mousse. Would definitely go back.
The view , service and food always make for a great wxperience
My new favorite place since I discovered it for my birthday brunch. Love the view and the atmosphere.
Waiter took longer than expected to bring our checks and returning our cc. Also had to wait almost 20 minutes to purchase a gift card. Overall, food and ambiance was wonderful.
So we are local but it was our first time to visit this place to celebrate my Birthday and our 2nd year anniversary. Let me start w/ they accommodate us with seat with a gorgeous view, perfect for our day! Also service was really good too, we wait a little longer than normally but we are very entertained by the view. Food is great, also the price. Me and my boyfriend had a positive and great experience at Toms Hams. Thank you so much.
I like this place
Food, service, ambiance......excellent! Sunday brunch very pricey, but if you can afford over $50 per person, well worth a special occasion.
Somehow they knew it was our anniversary but we hadn't told anybody. They brought us a piece of cake with happy anniversary written on the plate.
