Not my first time at Tom Hams but it was for my two guests, a birthday celebration. As always the food, the server. the vibe, THE VIEW !!! was no less than wonderful. Yes I recommend and yes I will be back.
We went for the raw seafood and free-flowing alcohol, but the sheer variety and prompt service definitely surprised us. Thank you for a great brunch date!
Our server was very friendly and kept our table clear of empty plates. Our party of 7 had a great time, and there were plenty of options for our vegetarian friends and apple cider instead of champagne as a non-alcoholic option.
I have lived in San Diego for over 40 years and this my first experience having brunch at Tom Ham’s Lighthouse. I was very impressed with everything!!! The food was excellent, service was outstanding and the view was amazing. The food selection was fantastic. For the price this was the best overall experience I have had at a brunch. I wish I hadn’t waited so long. I
Our server, Alicia, was outstanding. The noise level was high largely due to two rehearsal dinners goingon around us. Our guests from the midwest especially loved the view.
Great staff, amazing view, good food
Absolutely amazing food and service. The view of course was a dream!
Great steak. Glad to have some non-seafood options.
Great birthday meal!
Both my wife and I had time off on President’s Day and took the opportunity to schedule a post-Valentine’s Day lunch date at the place where we were married 3 1/2 years ago in 2016. It was a beautiful day along San Diego Bay. The food and service were wonderful at Tom Ham’s, just like it was back on our wedding day. We would highly recommend Tom Ham’s Lighthouse for any of your casual or formal events.
I love the ambiance there by the water; parking is easy and you can take a nice walk after your meal. The shrimp po boy sandwich with malted fries was delicious, as was the sangria. I've always enjoyed my visits to this restaurant.
Great food like always & server was fantastic.
I've been there in the past and shell fish was a lot better. It wasn't bad but quality wasn't there. Service was outstanding. Smoked salmon was terrific. Wizh I started there. Beef and short rib was also very good. Desserts where also very tasty.
We celebrated our wedding at Tom Hams and so each year on our anniversary weekend we go to Sunday brunch. It's always a highlight. The seafood station, bottomless mimosas, buffet and service are all top notch. Plus you can't beat the view of San Diego Bay. Great experience!
Wonderful find. Beautiful location and prime seating with great seafood selection. Great value for what is offered and incredible view included.
Late Valentine’s Day dinner. Didn’t order off the Valentine’s Day menu but it was cool that the kept it up all weekend. Drinks were amazing but pricy, food was okay but reasonably priced.
Overall great food and view. Love the outdoor seating, especially during sunset. Food and drinks were superb. Would definitely go again.
Server was really great and attentive.
We had family visiting from Lake Tahoe. We took then to Tom Hams and they loved it! We sat outside, the weather, service, and food were amazing. We sat there well after we finished eating and talked. We were not rushed out at all.
We usually come for the brunch which is very good, so we thought we would try dinner. I ordered the Market fish which was yellow tail and It was a bit under cooked. My husband ordered the Paella which was a lot smaller portion than we expected and was lacking seasoning. We then ordered the cinnamon Apple crumb cake. Nothing like we expected. No crumbs on it and it was like a pudding. We sent it back. The waitress Ally was very gracious and did her best to accommodate us . Loved her personality. I think we will just stick with the brunch.
Best table with a view! Service was impeccable. Food was excellent!
Steak was not done how I asked for it. Med done. It was med rare. Then all they did was put it in a oven so the plate was super hot and burnt my hand.
Nice ambiance. Amazing view if you're seated out side. Lunch menu was ok. I ordered the steak /greens/fries. It was ok for lunch.
Steak was room temperature. I enjoyed the fries.
Everything was good but the lunch menu seems to be a bit limited.
Always enjoy our visit to Tom Hams...love the scallops!!!
Our family loves seafood and no brunch in San Diego has a better selection of fresh seafood than Tom Hams.
The cut your steak before serving so it comes out with the juices spilling all over the plate.
We bring out of town guests and family as the views of the city at sunset are unrivaled anyplace in town.
The market fish Halibut was a bit over cooked so it was dry and had a bit of ocean taste. potatoes were hard. Not a finicky eater but was expecting something better from a restaurant specializing in seafood.
Wonderful! Service and food outstanding!
Ate at Tom Ham’s while on vacation. Recommended by concierge; spot on! Great location, right on the water, tasty seafood, great service.
Great views of downtown San Diego, arrive before sunset if you can.
This was our 4th time to enjoy the Sunday Brunch that is so well prepared and presented. Our server Raymond was very attentive and kept our Champagne glasses refilled without our asking. Our guest, on this occasion, was equally impressed - particularly with the selection of crab, lobster, shrimp, oysters, scallops and ceviche. Most definitely we will be back (again).
Our server Davor as well as the manager & chef went above and beyond for our family. Especially for our picky 4 year old toddler. Exceptional service!
The ambiance and views were fabulous, but the rice in the paella was under cooked and so were the scallops in another dish.
My husband ordered the diver scallops but they had sold out by 6:45. So, he got the bouillabaisse and reported it was inedible, fish overcooked and drowning in sauce. He was disappointed and hungry!
My dish was fine, but for the price, not really worth it. The server was great except he brought the check out forgetting our dessert. He did immediately correct his mistake, but that kind of put a damper on the experience.
We will not return, but doubt it will make a difference, the place was packed.
Absolutely the best “restaurant week” experience ever. Most places are over booked, loud, service is compromised, etc. I usually avoid dining out that week if possible. Our group of 4 loved the food- delicious and very generously proportioned, service was top notch, ambience just beautiful. We’re going back for Sunday brunch in a couple of weeks. Can’t wait!
Was sadly disappointed with this visit. Our reservation time was not honored and we were seated 45 mins late, then our server was rude non engaging and did not seem like he cared. I ordered a medium steak which came out completely rare. They took my appetizer when I wasn’t even done without asking. They just seemed so rushed until he looked at our tip (I am a server I know go important tipping is) and despite the experience I felt bad but overall was EXTREMELY disappointed on my $120 bill.
Noise level was very high making it difficult to hear conversation from the person sitting next to me.
Tasteful setting, great views
