Tom Bergin's is a great little gem of a restaurant on a bare stretch of Fairfax between Olympic and Wilshire. It has a great historic feel to it, its been around forever and has a really cool Irish ambiance inside. The dining room is quiter and more of a rustic romantic feel to it, while sitting in the bar area is louder in an energetic bar kind of way. Service was great, food is delicious! The fish and chips are awesome, the big pretzel appetizer is delicious, the BLT with fried egg- genius! Didn't have any beer but I'm sure the Guiness would be top notch.

It was my first time at TB's. Will definitely be going back - but the noise was INSANE. I'm literally horse from having to talk so loud! It was a busy night there though. Great for them!

A few months after Angelenos in the know mourned the passing of this venerable institution with a bitter-sweet series of final nights, Irish-wake style, Tom Bergin's has returned to the status quo ante. The new owner, Derek Schreck, has spiffed up the place without losing a shred of its burnished charm. The bar food was tasty and creative with new spins on old favorites, and was delivered promptly. The drinks were poured with style. And the dinner, by the fireplace in the back room, was delicious with updated pub-favorites. They have a commitment to the freshest, locally sourced ingredients for the kitchen and are eschewing contracts with any of the mega-restaurant supply chain that will assure fair prices for top quality. Bravo!
