Birthday. We noted in the reservation. They didn’t ask about it when we arrived. We didn’t mention it. So we just celebrated without any fanfare. I probably should have said something when we arrived.
Reservation at 6:30. Got seated promptly with another group of 4-6. Waited at grill table for over 50 minutes before chef came. Other group got tired of waiting and left just prior - went to a neighbor restaurant. Was able to order one drink, never got drink service again or even water until mid way through meal when chef realized that we had been trying to flag someone down. Because other party left, chef cooked fast and sloppy, made mistakes on order (due to other group) ran back to kitchen to get other food with items cooking on grill. My wife started taking salmon off before it burned — and it was indeed done to well. Then before done eating, served check and encouraged to wrap up (“all done, take away boxes?”) ... so they could turn the table. Cost almost $200 for 2 kids and 2 adults and only 2 alcohol beverages. No apps. A wait of 50+ minutes before food hit grill, and actual eating time - maybe 20 minutes. My sons birthday - not a great experience- stressful. They both stated that it was time to move on from Tokyo Steakhouse. What once was good, is no longer ... they’ve gotten complacent and lazy in service while prices continue to go up.
We did not wait to be served. The food and service were good.
Waitress told us there was no bottled water, but I asked another waitress and she got it for us. Also same previous waitress was arguing with us about food items saying two things on the menu are the same (but they weren’t). Maybe she was having a bad day, but even after food was served... no one came to check if we needed more stuff or anything. Waited to pay bill for awhile. Overall don’t think we’ll be going back.
Fun night out with work colleagues. Some had sushi, some had teppenaki. The teppanaki chef was very entertaining and interactive. Food quality was excellent as was the service. Will return!
Did not know it was a mall restaurant. Typical of a mall restaurant: loud people with loud kids, servers that did not speak much English and were always in a hurry. Food was just ok.

The food was tasty and the filet mignonette was tender but rare was over cooked. The service was good and the show by the cook was excellent

They told me that they don't use Open Table. We still had to wait. Not sure why. The place was not full. The waitress took over 20 minutes to come over to us. They were out of milk. Again. They serve kids. Kids drink milk.
Great time again!! Plus always meet great people when eating there. Can’t wait to go back there it will be soon.
Very slow and inattentive staff. You feel as though you are bothering them when asking for water or an extra set of utensils.
Food was decent with hibachi better than shabu.
I doubt it would be very busy if it wasn’t the overflow for Frank Pepe’s, Cheesecake and Besito.
They need to hire more staff for peak times like Saturdays.
Food was good. One of the better hibachi restaurants in the area.
Great place for families with kids from toddler to teenagers
Food is always consistently delicious, and the service is consistently poor.
When we arrived for our reservation they said that we could not get a table for at least 45 minutes and that there was only one waitress in the non-habachi section, which meant that the service would be slow and we would have to wait a long time to get our food according to the hostess. This was strange because they did have our reservation in their system, yet we were not able to be acommodated. We were disappointed and had to go elsewhere.
Our hibachi grill chef was amazing and very entertaining. The food he cooked was great. The service that the waitress provided was awful. She had a sour face the entire time as if she didn’t want to be there. We asked for 5 to-go boxes and she seemed annoyed at us when she only brought 4 and we asked her multiple times for another one. This is not the first time we have received poor service from this waitress.
Even though we had reservations, we had to wait too long to be seated and too long to order drinks. The food was fine - but expensive. The staff was clearly overwhelmed.

The hibachi is always a good amount of fun. The actual cook was great. The waitperson was verrrrry slow and very inattentive to requests for more water etc. They served five people soup and salad, but forgot our group of four. We waited 10 minutes for it.
Could do better. Still a good time.

1. Service was terrible the waitress rushed us to order and was extremly rude. Hostess looked miserable.
2. Food: soup was underseasoned salad was wilted and dressing was flavorless. Hibachi food was rushed and was the most entertaining chef. sauces were thrown on and weren't allowed to cook on the grill. shrimp was completely over cooked and the rice was the worste hibachi rice I ever had.
3. THERE WAS NO SAKE!? how can you go to hibachi with no fun sake squirt at your table.
I chose to make my own opinion instead of following the reviews but I should have listened. This place will not stay open, trust the reviews this place is not good!!
The major concern was when my girlfriend bit into a piece of clear broken glass in the her salad. We notified a waitress because we worried that about other pieces of the glass in other diners’ salads. But the waitress simply tossed it on the floor, so my girlfriend politely asked to speak to a manager. The manager seemed equally unconcerned, but at least offered to check with the kitchen to make sure other diners didn’t get any glass. Nobody ever asked my girlfriend if she was alright, or expressed any concern. We never heard from the manager again, but at least they didn’t charge her for her meal. (More accurately, they put 2 receipts in the bill, one with her meal and one without, I suppose to see if we would offer to pay anyway.)
On top of it, we had to wait 15 minutes after our reservation to even be seated, and then another 25 minutes to order.
We outlined that there would be a Celiac (gluten-free) allergy person at our table, yet the serving area had rice from prior cooking on the surface..... I know it's a challenge for Gluten Free, but I would have expected a bit more attention to detail regarding our arrangement as we had a party of 10 and had highlighted the Celiac requirement ahead of time.
Excellent all around. 5 stars. Reservation was easy. Service was efficient. Food was outstanding.
The service was terrible, the waitress disappeared for 20 minutes at a time. Food was disgusting, we were sick after the meal. Never going back. Asked to speak to manager and they said they only come in once a week.
I’ve been here before and had the same problem. No one ever came back to check on us after ordering our food. We wanted to order a drink with our meal but no one came around. I had to ask several time to many different people to get is a drink. 35 mins later they came with two drinks since no one communicated that they were getting us our one drink.

Despite having a reservation, we waited 45 minutes to be seated. The hostess and management were neither apologetic nor concerned by this. In fact, they continuously misled us into believing things would be addressed but they weren’t. A lousy experience for very mediocre food.
An average restaurant, with a traditional Japanese service. If you wanted to experience a Japanese barbecue, I would recommend Gyu-Kaku over Tokyo Japanese restaurant. There nothing special about this place and I'm not willing to visit this place again.
The service was beyond horrible and only one person in the restaurant spoke any English. I will NEVER be back. Do yourself a favor and skip this place!

We really enjoy the Shabu Shabu at the Tokyo Japanese Steak House, so we were psyched when our 12 year old son wanted to celebrate his birthday there! The food was excellent. The only issue was getting the attention of the waitress towards the end. We were overcharged and she did not return when we were trying to straighten it out.
We will return as we always enjoy our meal there. This was really just an anomaly, but frustrating....
