Sat in the bar with my guests when we arrived. Rob the bartender was awesome. Made us feel very welcome. If I have any negative comments it would be that the bar was poorly stocked. No hendricks, no kettle one botanicals, no ginger beer. All popular spirits. We moved to the dining room. Our waitress was great. Very well versed on the menu. We had the soft shell crabs to start. So good we ordered more. Local oysters were delicious. For dinner we had lamb and halibut with crab. Fresh and plentiful. I look forward to going to this restaurant again. This is NYC quality
Todd Jurich's is the perfect continental restaurant. As a party of 4 we had foie gras, oysters, soft shelled crabs, Caesar salad, duck, lamb and the fresh catch of the day. There was nothing but excellence in both service and cuisine.
Great food very attentive staff, Will definitely visit again.
Delicious food. I had the roasted beet salad with fried calamari and it was delicious. My friend had the special which was a toasted caprese sandwich with homemade chips and succotash. Excellent service.
My husband loved his duck entree. I was disappointed by soft shell crab( sauteed) snd beet salad did not have many beets in it.
Pecan pie was more like chunks of pecan in corn syrup/brown sugar- not a pleasing texture and the crust on key lime pie was so hard,I could barely cut it with a knife-
Great service!! We probably wont’t return due to food
It was our one year anniversary and they made it very special for us. The food was delicious. Flavorful and well made. Highly recommend the creme brûllé.
The roasted beet salad was very Disappointing. It was a plate of spinach with a few slices of beets. The mile high key lime pie turned out to be frozen cream, couldn't even get the fork in it with no key lime. Sent it back. The entree was excellent leg of lamb. Not sure I would go back.
First time there...a Monday evening and it was pretty quiet. Outstanding food....fish special of the day was brilliantly prepared and delicious. Service left a little to be desired, especially since there was all of about 8 people in the place but it wasn’t awful. Would highly recommend. Excellent location, neat ambiance. Will definitely be back.
Perfect for our anniversary dinner and the complimentary glasses of champagne were appreciated. The food as always was exquisite, unique, and beautifully plated. The service was perfect, just the right amount of attention without being obtrusive. The nice thing is, TJ's Bistro is always this way, so we can reliably have special guests from out of town get blown away, great drinks at the bar, or a romantic dinner without worry.
Our server was awesome . Restaurant was not super clean, windows really dirty. I ordered a house salad that tasted like straight vinegar was poured on it . We order Bison which was sub par. Also ordered a fish special and fish was dry and portion was small for price and sauce was cold. Wine was good and staff very friendly. Probably won’t go back .
Food was good but not great.
Probably the nicest, classiest local restaurant in Norfolk. Thoroughly enjoyed our booth overseeing the restaurant. Excellent oysters, soups and entrees. Very much a impress clients, family or date atmosphere.
Food and atmosphere were wonderful, great wait staff,
Excellent food and service. A special occasion kind of place. Interesting combination of ingredients, most locally sourced. Excellent crab cakes and wonderful, very light calamari. Valet parking is available.
Always a great place to go with your wife or a date.
Always an excellent meal. The meatloaf is sublime!
Great food great service
Still one of the best fine-dining restaurants in Norfolk! Great atmosphere with wonderful wine, great food and an awesome vibe!
Poor ambience. Kids playing video at the next table at a loud volume. Terrible service. Waited 40 minutes for an appetizer. $12 for a cup of soup. Ridiculous.
Quiet sophistication--sooo pleasant!
The food was excellent and the service was good as well. I would definitely eat here again and would recommend it to any of my friends and/or family.
Our server was fantastic-she made several recommendations that were all amazing.
We visited Todd Jurich’s for an anniversary dinner and we were not disappointed. Todd’s is our favorite restaurant in downtown Norfolk because the food and service are outstanding.
Asked server about wines to glass as they serve limited. Her initial response gave the impression there were more options than listed. When we discussed, she seemed short. The curry chicken appetizer was too curry heavy. Our steaks were mixed up when set, and food was not hot it was lukewarm.
We purposely placed our cards with the bills apart as not to mix them up. She mixed them up and made a comment that suggested we mixed them up.
As always consistence food and service. service lukewarm. Notified that was our 35th anniversary dimmer and no acknowledgment, unlike the competion. Nice place will return but nit for special occasions.
Great Easter brunch! My family enjoyed it very much
Easter brunch was abysmal. Lamb was undercooked. food choices very limited and presentation at serving stations was poor. Carving station had difficulty finding sharp cutlery which is a bit of a joke for a fine dining restaurant. Sorry to report that food was mediocre at best. Can't provide praise for anything other than the service which was very professional and met every expectation.
Looking forward to our next visit.
Everything was fresh and yummy. We each had something completely different- crab, chicken, scallops, duck, lamb. Everyone was very pleased. Good drink menu.
Food was great. They were a bit short handed but they handled it well. I recommend for most any occasion.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere
Went back the following night, everything was excellent again.
Excellent service and creative menu
Good wine selection, nice menu. The scallops were done perfectly. A bit pricey but generally worth it. Could use some refurbishing. The seat of the booth we sat in was split in several places, and you don't expect that with this price point.
Excellent dinner. Kayla is an outstanding employee. Ask for her service area.
Unfortunately I have to leave a negative review of Todd Jurich’s. This restaurant has always been a favorite of ours when visiting Norfolk from our home in VA Beach. We had opera tickets for this particular evening and upon our suggestion and high recommendation we made reservations for 6 people. Upon our arrival we were told by our waitress that there was a party of 50 arriving soon ( we arrived at 5;30) but she would make sure she got our order in before theirs. We started with cocktails; they were good. We ordered our appetizers and main courses and waited. The shrimp appetizer was delicious. My beetroot salad was bland with too much dressing. 2 of us ordered the cherry duck, 3 ordered the flounder with crab and 1 ordered rockfish. The duck entrees were all cold, the meat was rubbery. It looked as though they had been pre-made and then re-heated. We sent the duck back for “Re-heating”. Our service for the evening was mediocre. We had to ask for water refills and a desert menu. I believe all this was due to the hug party of 50, also going to opera. It was unacceptable.
The maître d was outstanding and very understanding of our traffic problems getting to the Bistro.
It made the evening!
The food was outstanding, atmosphere was great, and the service was friendly, fast, and helpful. We will definitely be back!
An outstanding dining experience!! One of the best that we have had in Norfolk. Service, food, spirits are exceptional. The bar noise is a little noisy. However, the table that we had made an ambiance of just a table for two.
We enjoyed it the last time but this time service was slow, we received the bill before we could order coffee. We asked for espresso and received regular coffee without spoons.
Food was good but portion was to small for the price. We were hungry within an hour leaving, after having a 3 course meal.
When we arrived there was no one at door to great us and sit us. We had to flag someone down to have any direction on where to go or be seated. The smoke from the grill was all over the restaurant. I have trouble breathing in smoky atmospheres. I came with 3 other people on Valentine’s Day dressed well and we left smelling like smoke. Our table alone paid almost $600 including tips for an experience we did not enjoy.
The waitress was very kind and professional. She was our saving grace. Me and my wife frequently go to 4-5 star restaurants. I was hoping our experience would’ve been different and on a higher level for a 4 to 5 star resturant but it wasn’t. I will try again but no time soon
