Todd English at The Plaza Food Hall Ratings and Reviews
Service was very attentive, food was delicious, white sangria was refreshing and you can't beat the location on Central Park South! Perfect meet-up place for reunion with NYC friends after work and tourist friends visiting from Asia. We had Boris as our server and he was great!
Have been her so so so many times ,,, Was here whenit was much smaller and much more crowded. Food was amazing even though menu was much smaller and some of our favs where missing . My only problem which is very minor , is sitting at a high top and not having enough room for all your plates.
I've been a fan of Todd's since his Olives and Figs Boston days. The food is always good. Could be updated... The service at the bar was ok. The bartender was good but distracted with a full bar and drink service. I'll definitely give it another chance but there's definitely room for improvement
We spent a wonderful day in Central Park. We have spent several nights at the Plaza and come to Todd English often for dinner. Normally we have a wonderful experience with wonderful service but today was different. The service from our waitress was awful. Our order was over $1100 (including 18% that was automatically added because we had a party of 8) and she didn't even check to see if we needed anything. We had to ask for the drinks for our children a few times and didn't once clear a plate. The table was cluttered with dishes and when we asked her for anything she just seemed annoyed. When we were leaving the manager told us we could not leave with our champagne, which I understood even though we were going shopping in the hotel but then when we asked if we could go back to our table and sit and finish he told us we could not. Of course, we will be back because it's one of our favorite places but this skewed our view. Just thought management she be aware.
Not worth the money. Food and service are very good but like a daycare. Children running around parents screaming terrible. Never again. I have been here many times but the guests with children out of control. From running screaming to singalongs on the ipad i wasted 175$
We started going to this restaurant when it opened and we always had a great meal. It was noisy and hard to be seated and if you went with more than one other person it was hard to have a conversation, but the communal seating was the reason and the food was so good it didn't matter. In the last year or so the quality of the food has slipped, at least with the food we have ordered. This last Thursday the pasta bolognese was excellent, but the greek salad was bland and the prime rib sliders were inedible. The meat was fatty and dry and the rolls were so stale you could hear them if you tapped on them. As the server said, "they were harder than my head," and she didn't charge us for the uneaten order. She was really good and fun. The service here is very fast, the staff is wonderful, but the food is uneven. It also wasn't very crowded on a Thursday night at 7 pm. In the past it's been jammed.
Great spot to try different things depending on what you are craving. I liked that the Todd English part was part of the bigger food court, but separate at the same time. Making a reservation is helpful and recommended to make sure you get seating, especially if you are catching a show after and need to keep to a schedule. We got a bunch of different small dishes and shared and that was perfect since there were a lot of menu items to choose from. Very enjoyable! Would recommend for the setting and the variety.
We didn't know that it was all bar seating here when booking a reservation, so we were a bit confused and thrown by why the hostess wouldn't give us a normal table. Nevertheless, the atmosphere was fun and our servers at the bar were friendly. I found it pretty pricey for the amount of food, but the food was very good. I would definitely go back. Would be good for groups.
Food is consistently good. Service was quick and prompt. There's something in the menu for everyone (sushi, waffle and chicken, pork buns, mussels, tacos, paella, pasta...) its such a smorgasbord of choices that you'll find something that excites you. Good for big groups too (provided you make a reservation!) and loved the decor. ;)
3 of us had lunch on busy Saturday afternoon my oriental chicken salad was excellent. Other diners in my party were not impressed. Gyro lamb was dry and extremely overdressed with tziki sauce (cook probably knew meat was dry and tried to overcompensate with extra sauce ontop) Prime rib sandwich was dry shaved beef that lacked flavor. 3 meals and 2 drinks cost over $110 for lunch! - don't think we'll be back.
As a "food hall" with 8 stations, the menu actually has rather limited offerings and is not so imaginative. Nevertheless it is a good place to go if dining with a person whose food preferences you are not all that familiar with as there will be something for anyone's taste or inclinations. Almost anything on the menu is perfectly serviceable, although no one dish is memorable or a "culinary" experience. When the room gets full, the noise level can rise but not so much as to negate conversing. A good, safe, upscale feeling but casual place to take someone (especially from out of town).
