Todd English at The Plaza Food Hall Ratings and Reviews
I have been here previously but this visit was just terrible. Three dishes came out with about 10-15 minutes in-between each. French fries were cold. One of us never had silverware. Stirfry wasn't ever received until we asked. Public can use the restrooms, so paying customers needed to wait in line for access.
My experience was very disappointing. We had a very surly waiter. We order two appetizers and three entrees. The first appetizer came out but was followed shortly by one of the entrees, then soon another entree. After 15 minutes, and unable to get hold of a waiter, we caught our waiter and told him . unapologetic he walked away "to take check on things" After another 10 minutes, a manager passed and i asked about our food. Soon after, both the appetizer and entree appeared and was thrown onto the table. No one seemed concerned that our other food might be cold , or that we had intended to have a leisurely meal and wanted our appetizers first and then be able to eat our entrees together. there were no apologies, no checking on us to see how things were. AT the exorbitant prices, I expect some service.
VERY popular spot in basement food area of The Plaza. Using OpenTable for reservation was brilliant, especially for Party of 11! Our reservation was for 10 people at 8 and we showed up at 7:35 with 11 and they sat us within 5 minutes even though restaurant was packed.
Food was delicious, high points were the classic fig and prosciutto Pizza and risotto tater tots, but the steaks were amazing and no one was disappointed with anything they ordered. Definitely recommend.
My family & I went there specifically for the 80’s menu. Our kids (12, 9 & 7) we’re excited to go. When we got there we were told they stopped serving the 80’s menu. And then we asked for kids menus & were told they were out of them. Our server told us he had most of the kids menu memorized & could tell it to us. My son told him what he wanted & then the server tells him they are out of it. 3 strikes. Pretty frustrating.
Food came from different kitchens, and in typical fashion it all came at once - which spoiled the night for me. There’s no point at all having designated starters and entree’s if they come out at the same time - sorry, but this concept just doesn’t work.
Again the gratuity was automatically added to my bill which also ruined my experience as I should decide whether or not to tip, not the restaurant!!!!!!
While in Manhattan for Christmas, our Family found Todd English at The Plaza Food Hall to be a wonderful place for an impromptu Lunch to celebrate a surprise engagement in Central Park. The food was superb and the staff was very attentive, professional, & friendly and made our Son and his new Fiancé feel very special! Thank you for that personal touch! We will definitely be back to dine with you on our next visit.
Showing its age with a more limited menu and mediocre service, this tourist destination continues with acceptable food in a high-traffic location. Try to find the food grade which is currently a C hiding behind the computer terminal out of view at the side of the reception station
Great Food and atmosphere in the Plaza! We enjoyed everything we ordered! The Ribeye, Guacamole, cheesecake, and sushi were all a foodies dream! Only issue was a misunderstanding with the dress code but we just were just slightly over dressed for a wonderful night at the Plaza!
Food was good...service was Horrid. Waiter barely addressed us. Impossible to get second drink water glasses stayed empty. Threw check on the table when we requested it. I have eaten at a lot of establishments and this was by far the worst service I have encountered. Won't be returning.
My 10 year old dreamed of eating at plaza for her birthday. It's now her least favorite part of her day.
Stopped in here for a quick bite before a movie. Glad we made reservations, as we were seated right away. The restaurant itself is very loud and casual, but it was a great atmosphere with even better people watching. Prices are what you would expect from a restaurant at The Plaza. The food was well worth it and delicious. I would definitely recommend this place for lunch with friends as a quick bite before a show, shopping on 5th or a walk through the park.
Not what it used to be. My husband and I used to live in the neighborhood and this was one of our regular spots for Saturday lunch. We have been going there since it opened and it was fab! We moved but still like to come here a couple of times a year. It used to be pristine with lovely stations of various cuisines throughout. Now most of the stations are bars. The menu has been dumbed down and the service is sub-par.
To say we were disappointed is an understatement. One of the most difficult things to do in the restaurant industry is keep a beautiful, well- run restaurant just that. The folks at TE Food Hall have sadly failed.
We were 10 min early for our reservation waited 15 and we were told with a baby we had to sit at the seafood bar or not get a table . Jeff the manager was nice but would do nothing for us . So much fo our $ 500 holiday family meal at the bar. Pizza was soggy and my pasta had a funny odor. Make your plans somewhere else trust me
The Food Hall is a favorite stop on my trips to NYC. I've never had a bad meal. It's not exactly inexpensive, but if you order well you can enjoy great food without breaking the bank. Hard to beat the atmosphere, even though it gets a little noisy. All in all, one of the best spots in NYC for good food reasonably priced. ALWAYS MAKE A RESERVATION!
